Honestly there was a ton potential for the game towards the beginning. The new badlands update was promised over 3 year ago they made a roadmap saying it would come in October of 2020 but it never came. Instead we have been getting constant reworks that no one has asked for. Its good to balance a game but the reworks only made some classes trash and some broken and op. They said they are going to release the badlands in august this year. Hopefully this will bring players back to the game.
you're completely right that the vast majority of players gives up at the start: i saw how grindy the mushroom quests were and immediately got bored. i didn't even open the treasure chest lol
Early game is least grindy tho, and the mushroom quests aren’t that grindy, cuz at most, they have u kill 20 of a certain enemy, which is little compared to other grindy rpgs that have u kill 75 or 100 enemies. But I do think the game is grindy in mid-late game in the 30-40 level range. But the grind can become fun when u join a class and get spells.
i love that. im so tired of games being so grindy during the beginning. the moment i see a game open up with "fetch me some eggs" or "kill 20 dirt slimes" i close it because clearly the devs didn't have constant fun or a gripping story in mind. for a video game. im just so tired of that trope that now im sick of seeing it.

Around the time I stopped playing they kept saying they'd add permadeath then they took it out then they'd add it again then removed it then added it to one area and it's like oh my god dude just make a decision.
I remember looking forward to this game, playing through it alot until I came across the stupid cursed scroll system where it literally has a chance to delete your item if you get bad rng. some items are literally 0.0651% drop rate. absolutely ridiculous. it's literally a method to make the player spend more time playing, looking for the low chance drop of a cursed scroll so that when they use it, their item that they spent weeks to get immediately gets deleted.
Yep, this is when I stopped playing. Game was fun and all, especially when I was young, but then they made all further progression dependent on the colosseum. To progress any further in the game you needed PvP, which is possibly the dumbest idea I've ever heard, because if you're already behind you can't kill anyone. People with millions of hours to pour into the game would get the most insanely overpowered shit while you didn't stand a chance. And exploring can give you stage 5 cancer if done blind. And a slight correction with the skill points; the adventurer, class and subclass skill points are split up, meaning regardless if you save up points from the adventurer book or not, you would still start out with 4 points to invest in warrior skills or whatever class you picked. yeah after i released the video i found out that badges work on a system based on the total visits of the game, so it would def skew percentages to lower numbers especially if you have those players that just join and play for like 10 mins then leave and never return (happens a lot lol). thanks for some clarification too, and thanks for watching as well! Fast text make eyes strong...
as someone whos played since ALPHA (spent 800 robux), this game has been absolutely DOGGED ON like TWICE. berezaa quit the game and then came back (odd as hell why), which was probably a sign that the game was gonna bomb. the end game rn is to use scrolls for end game gear. the thing is, the rare scrolls are one gold. failing the chance will either just fail, succeed, or BLOW UP YOUR WEAPON. being lucky is way to much of a factor with these scrolls, as even the scrolls have different stats you can get. either you get a god tier scroll roll, or you get negative stats because the game told you that you dont deserve shit. theres a saying I like to say, which is the rich get richer, and the poor and poorer. this is what vesteria is right now, as the people with 1 platinum (1000 gold) have all the high tier equipment. I only have mid-high gear weapon, but thats after blowing 500+ gold leaving me with like 50 rn. what i'm trying to say is that the end game just kinda SUCKS. you just farm/trade for scrolls, only for your weapon to blow up and you restart. (sorry if you couldnt understand half of what i said, im really dogshit at explaining. this is more of a rant tbh)
8:00 No, you can only spend ability points gained in levels 0-10 on the first tree. The ability points are separate for every tree. For example if you get past level 30 you won’t get points for the second tree and will need to use them on the subclass tree
The day the game died was someday during early or mid 2020. Berezza thought it would be funny to let everyone in the town middle (forgot the name of it) into the testing realm. This idiot forgot that we could take literally ANYTHING from it. Hella duped items were going around after. Inflation started and rare items like the Spider Queens Crown lost its value. I still have the duped one I got from back then. After that everything went downhill. Still remember summer 2019 playing it a day before I had to catch a flight for holidays and then watching content about the game on UA-cam while I was there. Couldn't wait to play it the whole two weeks. Went crazy on the game when I was back and probably spent 200-300 hours in it with my little brother. Truly was my favorite game back then. Unlucky it turned out this way.
Heyo, im the Lead QA/Tester for Vesteria and I would be happy to reach out to talk to you about the state of the game. Understanding the perspective of a new player is incredibly important and I'd like to further understand your perspective. I wrote a longer comment that goes more into depth but it seems to have either been deleted automatically, deleted manually, or held for review. If its the latter feel free to delete this comment and allow the other one to pass on by. addendum: I resigned & am now banned 🔥
thanks for reaching out! i'll check for the comment to see if it did get held under review (don't know why yt does that) but i'll see if i can't get it back up and in the future i plan on making addendum-type videos for some of these games so i may revisit vesteria in the future with your point of view/your feedback taken in mind. thanks for watching
Haven't played/grinded Vesteria since the release of the desert update. Was kinda cool in the beginning but they changed the map and locations so often back then, which was weird. There was also a problem with the chests not opening in some areas, so you had to come back later when they updated them. Also hated the 30 min run up the mountain to the knight faction base. The worst thing I can remember was grinding bats in the sewers for hours just to get a scroll or to level up once or something like that. I had a lvl 40 barbarian or something like that with tiki clubs and the best armour at the time and yeti boots. Then the desert update got releases and I did not want to grind even more hours for nothing.
As an Alpha player of Vesteria and a game developer I can confidently say Vesteria's biggest downfall is simply the lack of monetizable assets. If they would've added more gamepasses and developer products (key would've also been worthwhile purchases) The reason I say this is because they would've made Vesteria a powerhouse for revenue. If they made more money they would've been more motivated and had the sufficient staff team size to release more consistent updates, new maps, new bosses, mobs, cosmetics, and fix bigs quicker to make the community happier and more dedicated. I can guarantee there poor capitalization of this was there biggest downfall besides making Vesteria paid access for so long, I'm glad I convinced them to release Vesteria as a free to play experience before they would've shut it down during the days where they gave up on it.
The dev situation has been crazy too, Berezaa quit for a while, and is basically a laughingstock within the community, and most hate for the game goes to him, poly interacts with the community a bit, but a lot of times it's to voice his own frustration with the game, and I think he's quitting soon . Haven't seen skeleton in sooo long, Looty is doing his own game, I think company quit(thats just a guess tho they used to be super active and now theyre nowhere to be seen), and the lead dev who's like the only talking became a dev like 3 months ago. And ofc kensai666 quit awhile ago and he used to be a super big part of the community.
I mean I've never seen or heard most of those people because I only played the game till like level 20-30 but (except berezaa) I do remember Kensai inviting a lot of people I think and being popular, no clue what the developers did with him tho
I feel like this is similar to Project Slayers, but except its still successful with the grinding because: -Fitting to the mangas/animes lore -actual reason to grind like: get more power, be more superiour, flex -multiple playstyles -unqiue abilities and stuff thats just me, i dont know shit lmao
This game USED to be REALLY GOOD. Like, REALLY REALLY GOOD. I remember back in 2018/2020-ish when I really got into this game (it was actually how I bonded with some of my closest friends) I would play for HOURS, having my friends (who were all max) kinda help me out and give me tips as for what to grind for. Hell, I even got into Forsaken Legacy for a little while. Unfortunately, Vesteria faced somewhat of a content drought when I started to slowly fall out of it. A few of my friends got back into it a few months later, and I was ready to go back too, but then the Gorgog pet happened and we just couldn't. Honestly really upsets me what they did to it (gorgog pet, green items, that kinda stuff), and I hope it can take a turn for the better.
personally i come home from an 8-10 hours shift at work and if i get on a game that feels more like starting a second shift than actually having fun then i just stop playing case in point with vesteria and farming for high tier items, rare drops such as scrolls for making said high tier items, rebirthing, and so much extra stuff the game didnt ever need
loved the video. would like it more if there was less text on screen, it's like you put half the script on the screen while reading the other half. keep it up!
I was someone who was somewhat excited for this when this came out way back. As you said, the linear (and tedious) progression combined with the weird "open world" made it hard to stick with. There is no "mmo" in this game, so why would I stick with this game when I can just play any non-roblox rpg and have a way greater experience? Hope you keep making more of these videos!
I agree with what you think, there are no games on roblox that are worth playing seriously, it seems as if you can't make a decent game on roblox. Any game other than roblox is better
They need to make the mobs harder and more unique while increasing the exp what i mean unique is like 5 different attacks style for each mob also they need to make the player attack unique
Grind for max gear maybe? RPG games can’t really just always continue on like that once your max level you can’t do anything else but pvp or just chat with people todays day they do update the game quite a lot
‘10 people with 200 roles talking about random stuff’ literally me i am in the discord at that point in the video i do not even play the game games so good that i cant play it for more than half an hour without getting bored lategame and the ‘badlands’ update has been teased since 2019 or 2020 yet its still not out to this day which will never not be funny to me
The game was so fun at first but i left once i realized the only future content i can expect is either not coming out in the next 5 years or grinding away for an insanely rare item
The Vesteria Guilded server was opened and slightly active in early-mid 2022 but for all intents and purposes it doesn't exist anymore because nobody uses it
I like the game. I do understand some of your concerns like the game being hard for new players to get into. But when I started the difficulty curve was non existent, I beat the game in like 10 deaths (most from the Mokotuaa boss) and I was completely new, only google what classes may be viable and whatnot. (The cutscene isn’t beatable, btw you can’t save ability points for the warrior book they only apply to the adventurer book) but yea most ppl hate this game. Also this game ain’t overrated, it just a weird not rated gam.
when he was talking about points i think he ment stats. i havent played in a while so im assuming he ment that you keep your adventurer stats like strength when you go into your faction
Each skill book has their own individual skill points, saving the ones in the first book would do nothing for your faction book. Didn't think it was fair that you included this as a downside for the game when it isn't a thing...
I actually played quite a bit back in 2021. Lost my account and tried again recently and holy shit the game is garbage. A game this old not having a map system is just pathetic
as someone who played till lvl 55 the max i will say the best parts were the mid game as there are all the bosses spider queens lair and the mushroom raid (also root beard but he's like a lvl 10 boss not mid game and you gotta grind mushrooms to fight him which probably put someone in the mental asylum)the early game is boring but you can do it fast compared to mid and late game but the late game sucks as most of the time your just grinding for exp or a really low chance item. Too bad the whole game is a grind fest at the end of the day
i want to play this game, but i just cant cause i am a mage, the damn spider queen is just not normal, this 20 lvl req for the dungeon is a joke. i like used all my mana potions to get to a MINIBOSS, A GOD DAMN MINIBOSS THAT TOOK ME 15 MINUTES, AND THEN THERE WAS THE BOSS WHO HAD LIKE 2x THE HP??? i just left and got nothing
As somebody whos been playing Vesteria for 4 years with nearly 3,000 hours I can say that this video covered the level 0-10 experience decently well, but with some inaccuracies. Some of them being, most of the badge segment (the chest badge is for a golden chest and the absurd rarities are because the badges are pretty new), every single area in the game can be accessed from lvl 1 excluding teruls maw at lvl 40 and sewers at lvl 10 which I would say makes the game pretty open world (you can just walk around brutus to get into nilgarf which is an intended "feature"), also in the segment where you were pointing out mage dps that mage was at the level cap while you were below level 10, + some other little things like the difficulty curve or skill pt system that I wont get into. That said, you did summarize a lot of the community/new players feelings about the extremely lackluster early game m1 circle the enemy simulator and how literally nothing is explained/showed to you leaving you to wander around and hope you find a new area or something to help progress, as well as the extreme amounts of walking for no real reason, and some nice input on how to improve the 0% player retention rate. What I feel this video failed to mention is the other 95% of the game, you really only touched on basic m1 combat and the progression to get your base class. What you didn't talk about was the comprehensive endgame builds, the comprehensive 3 base classes + 9 subclasses and their interesting abilities, the trading aspect (where most people end up), the endgame pve and dungeons, the shitty pvp, the batshit insane community which is the only real reason I'm still around, and more.
There is only 1 dungeon as far as I know (SQR) and the Terul's maw "dungeon" which is just the 1 boss you have to pay some pearls to fight. The endgame builds are basically just "gamble and hope to get good rolls". The interesting abilities are only for warlock, assassin and trickster. The pvp has always been bad but atleast enjoyable before they somehow made it even worse. -tiger edit: Totally forgot about the p2w aspects they have been bringing over the years.
I have come back to vesteria again and It feels nostalgic in many ways now. Stamina is back, but it is actually really good for adding depth to the game. PvP is more fun because people can’t spam jump and now boots have more relevance. They finally balanced out the classes to a degree that there is nothing blatantly broken. The maps are looking fantastic, there are way more quests and challenges, we have tribute wars now, and everything is pretty fun to play. At this point, considering that blox fruits is currently the most popular game, I would say that a lot of kids these days have short attention spans and can’t Handel the lack of low effort instant gratification in vesteria. If the devs add more features that promote playability such as badlands and more, vesteria could bring back a ton of players.
PvP is worse than it has ever been. Wavebreaker + quickslash does 50 damage per tick which adds up to 1500-2000 damage from 1 ability in pvp. Baldlands isn't ever coming to Vesteria.
Badlands will come soon. The Gates of Mourn have been added and those are the gates that lead to the Badlands. I know some abilities are busted but the classes are better than they were (No longer busted at base.) I hope the Devs can figure out how to balance everything properly soon. But all of this is better than it was as far as I am concerned. Feel free to remain pessimistic though.
@@quaesitorluminis2846 Only reason I am pessimistic about anything Vesteria related is that I have been playing Vesteria for 5 years and have witnessed such many disappoints of updates and broken promises.

I do agree. I almost have all the locations and had good weapons and yet it feels off and like not rewarding enough. I just keep swinging and swingin and swinging... maybe use some abilities and thats it
Roblox players don't have enough braincells to play a game that takes slightly more thinking and has a complex system, the fact look at a recent bad game that popped up out of nowhere being "Plastic RPG", it has more players since the whole gameplay is just standing still with autoclicker
I ma be honest with you, this game was really GRINDY. I feel like this game fell of cuz of 2 big reason. 1:The scroll mechanic of the game made grinding a million times harder especially when the scroll fail and then you grund more and more until you either give up or trade stuff for it. 2:The developers been doing so many useless updates and sure we know they need time to update, it's just they delay it for too god damn long. Take for example the badlands, we vesteria player have been waiting for 3 years at this point I feel like we're waiting for gta 5 again and to top it all vesteria developers had some drama and slowed the game down ALOT, lots of mistakes were made such as making the game permanent death, people could get item from testing ground and come back to the game, didn't wipe everyone when people were abusing the testing realm glitch (WE VOTED FOR IT BTW) and developers quitting. My secret in this game is that I made robux from it. (Selling limted items)
Yo man! idk if you are going to see this but ive been watching a lot of you're critic videos on roblox mmos and rpgs, I was wondering if you can review this game called "Lore Game" by iaKuro3. The way I would describe it is like Darksouls mixed in with Undertale with a lot of basis for exploration and finding secrets or something idk. I would really like too see you're own opinions on it, like what you like and what you didn't like. But anyway have a fantastic day or night bro and keep up the great work with the channel!
lore game is genuinely one of the most unique and interesting games on roblox, me and my friends have sunk countless hours into it and had some of the most fun we've ever had on the platform
games overrated thats that like bruh i dont wanna do some shroom quest see as soon as i join the game level 9 trees or what ever attack me i die i run away idk where i got i fight some shrooms level up im bored did quest still bored then left
you got some points here and there but majority of it is just a lack of understanding of the game. Sure the game have some flaws that i agree with, such the problems with maps. But you said only like 5% os the entire game. There's a BUNCH a things you didn't even talked about and some wrong info. Like the books, the books doesn't share points. Adventure book is only for adventure abilities, warrior book for example is just for warrior abilities, and so on. Same thing for subclasses that you can choose when you get lvl 30 (which you didn't mention on the vid). But overall i think that most people quit because the game is more complex, is not a simulator that you just need to use an autoclicker
so a couple things 1 you can look at some of the well made guides on the game to help yourself with progression 2 the game is more for older players imo 3 after nilgarf the game picks up so much and with a guide you can level up super quick by seeing that theres super fast lvling in the sewers of nilgarf 5 if you really needed to you could scale up the bridge to get into nilgarf before the intended time) i feel like this solves most if not all of your problems
i go into my reviews for the rpgs i cover not really going over any outside guides/tutorials unless i am totally lost because it's my own belief that a good mmorpg can teach you the ropes without needing help from an outside source, and yea i agree the systems are more complicated and intended for older players. but i mean for the nilgarf access glitch (i didnt know about that lol), was it an intended feature? i also try to play the games how they're meant to be played unless i find a really crazy oversight/exploit in the game i abuse to then make a point. but thanks for letting me know about that, and thanks for watching!
@@spiriteddefault the nilgarf access "glitch" has been in the game since its begining also glitch is pretty harsh terms its just scaling up the bridge) yeah i also agree to your belief to a certain extent about rpg games)
Yknow what, let's say the game can be beaten in under 10 hours.. Why is it that I have to go to a whole different tab to see that instead of the game telling us? And grinding on vesteria is a painful progress no matter how much time you put in in.
Everyone here is telling you "Oh, it gets good later in the game! You just have to play longer" Well guess what? I used to play this game every day for HOURS, and it NEVER gets better. It's just the same repetitive task over and over again. People telling you to play longer are trying to cope with the fact that they wasted so much of their time with this game. Also, anyone who tells you to research the game for hours before playing it is an idiot. Literally NO decent game would make you read a guide book for hours before playing it. That's just a bad game.

and the text is too fast holy hell i had to pause and rewind so much in this video
edit: grammatical errors
yeah after i released the video i found out that badges work on a system based on the total visits of the game, so it would def skew percentages to lower numbers especially if you have those players that just join and play for like 10 mins then leave and never return (happens a lot lol). thanks for some clarification too, and thanks for watching as well!
Fast text make eyes strong...
There was no rebirthing in beta, nor year or two after beta.
Btw the stamina meter has been re added so they could add mounts which are bought for 200 golden mushrooms but only last for 48 hours
You made 48 hours sound like a fucking lunch break 😂 💀
@@WeakestValorantHater it just sucks u have to rebuy them

@@WeakestValorantHater It is lunch break considering the amount of golden mushrooms.
as someone whos played since ALPHA (spent 800 robux), this game has been absolutely DOGGED ON like TWICE. berezaa quit the game and then came back (odd as hell why), which was probably a sign that the game was gonna bomb.
the end game rn is to use scrolls for end game gear. the thing is, the rare scrolls are one gold. failing the chance will either just fail, succeed, or BLOW UP YOUR WEAPON. being lucky is way to much of a factor with these scrolls, as even the scrolls have different stats you can get. either you get a god tier scroll roll, or you get negative stats because the game told you that you dont deserve shit. theres a saying I like to say, which is the rich get richer, and the poor and poorer. this is what vesteria is right now, as the people with 1 platinum (1000 gold) have all the high tier equipment.
The background music is too distracting and makes your voice harder to hear. Id recommend choosing slower, less complicated background music
Just turn down the volume lol
FUNNY THING, THE STAMINA IS BACK!! NOW THEY HAVE AN EXCUSE TO INTRODUCE MOUNTS TO SQUEEZE MONEY OUT OF US!! I LOVE VESTERIA!!
8:00 No, you can only spend ability points gained in levels 0-10 on the first tree. The ability points are separate for every tree. For example if you get past level 30 you won’t get points for the second tree and will need to use them on the subclass tree
had to play the video at .75x speed shit was giving me sensory overload 😭
Dude has severe adhd lol

Have you looked at the gamepasses? They charge 3500 robux for ability to change your font when signing items.
Played the game for 100+ hours, Bad game.
I mean I've never seen or heard most of those people because I only played the game till like level 20-30 but (except berezaa)
I do remember Kensai inviting a lot of people I think and being popular, no clue what the developers did with him tho
I think it would be better if the text was kept for a little longer in the video
I feel like this is similar to Project Slayers, but except its still successful with the grinding because:
-Fitting to the mangas/animes lore
-actual reason to grind like: get more power, be more superiour, flex
-multiple playstyles
-unqiue abilities and stuff
thats just me, i dont know shit lmao
Turn down the backround music. I cant hear anything
Bru how deaf are you?????
Btw for the xx badge the 0,1% did not do it for acomplishement, but becose it gave image perm in general chat if the discord
you could just copy link to media and it would work.
personally i come home from an 8-10 hours shift at work and if i get on a game that feels more like starting a second shift than actually having fun then i just stop playing
case in point with vesteria and farming for high tier items, rare drops such as scrolls for making said high tier items, rebirthing, and so much extra stuff the game didnt ever need
loved the video. would like it more if there was less text on screen, it's like you put half the script on the screen while reading the other half.
They need to make the mobs harder and more unique while increasing the exp what i mean unique is like 5 different attacks style for each mob also they need to make the player attack unique
i thought i accidentally played this video on 1.5x speed
i have alpha and beta supporter for this game from 4 years ago but holy shit this game sucks every time i come back to it
Always want to get back into this game but once I join I can’t help but fall asleep on my keyboard.
Grind for max gear maybe? RPG games can’t really just always continue on like that once your max level you can’t do anything else but pvp or just chat with people todays day they do update the game quite a lot
Vesteria for some reason spikes to like 3k players every halloween because theres an event and then its empty for the rest of the year.

The game was so fun at first but i left once i realized the only future content i can expect is either not coming out in the next 5 years or grinding away for an insanely rare item
the vest can be save if the creator keep giving updates, but they are not , they just slowing watching vestaria died.
Will never understand people calling something overrated 💀

The real most overrated rpg is swordburst 2 AKA afk simulator
Can’t believe I figured out things and related to so many things in one video.
-tiger
edit: Totally forgot about the p2w aspects they have been bringing over the years.
I am pretty sure warrior skill points and advanturer ones are diffrent types and also regen only heals like 200 hp

i remember how many ads they had on ROBLOX
It has like under 1k players, i wouldnt say overrated

8:31 Well, I mean, if you look at the footage, you pressed the rock throw skill when you were aiming at the ground, so it makes sense why you missed.
can you do a video about pilgrammed?

Another game you should check out is Fantastic Frontier, pretty cool game! It (Sorta) has some rpg elements but its a pretty unique experience.
The name of the game explains itself, It's a fantastic game and I love it!
(Selling limted items)

you got some points here and there but majority of it is just a lack of understanding of the game. But overall i think that most people quit because the game is more complex, is not a simulator that you just need to use an autoclicker
you say that yet games like deepwoken are infinitely more complex than vesteria and yet have thousands of active players at any given time.
That’s cap u forgot about Blox fruit and uh plastic(true overrated)

the rpg genre hasn't been good on roblox for over ten years
so a couple things 1 you can look at some of the well made guides on the game to help yourself with progression 2 the game is more for older players imo 3 after nilgarf the game picks up so much and with a guide you can level up super quick by seeing that theres super fast lvling in the sewers of nilgarf 5 if you really needed to you could scale up the bridge to get into nilgarf before the intended time) i feel like this solves most if not all of your problems
i go into my reviews for the rpgs i cover not really going over any outside guides/tutorials unless i am totally lost because it's my own belief that a good mmorpg can teach you the ropes without needing help from an outside source, and yea i agree the systems are more complicated and intended for older players.
but i mean for the nilgarf access glitch (i didnt know about that lol), was it an intended feature? i also try to play the games how they're meant to be played unless i find a really crazy oversight/exploit in the game i abuse to then make a point. but thanks for letting me know about that, and thanks for watching!
