The Crew 2014-2024: One Last Ride

- Ubisoft's The Crew is now unplayable for all owners after the massive open-world racer was shut down permanently on March 31, 2024. With no offline functionality, even for solo play, it is no longer possible for any player to access their saves or purchased DLC. Here's one last slice of preserved gameplay from The Crew, in the form of one final trip across the map - from New York to Seattle the long way.

An earlier version of this video was accidentally published without the second stint from Dallas to Seattle included, but it has been amended. This is now the full drive from New York to Seattle. We apologise for any inconvenience caused!
Your apology is duly noted.

We accept your apology, thanks.
Don't listen to these LOSERS, we love you IGN 🌹
Great bro 👍🏼
Just a reminder, you don’t own new games. You simply rent them.
Wrong. Physical discs will always work.
@@MichaelDoesLife In the case of The Crew, that is false. You can stll load the game on console, but you can't play the actual game, you can't get passed the main menu since there is no server to connect to cause the game was online only. In the general sense, all single player games that can be played offline, yes physical will always work.
@Nitroh- also, some disks will still want you to download most of a game. Those and the single player ones that do an online check everytime will only work till the servers are up.
Incorrect
@@Nitroh-Saying you don't own new games is false too. It's not all of them.
This is why you shouldn't buy online-only games and why offline gamemodes and bots are important.
Every single EA game, even single player games, require an internet connection to start.
At least someone cares about game preservation.
Game preservation btw
You will own nothing and be happy.
Ubisoft took this too seriously
"One last ride family"
"One last time bad boys for life"
"One last time for time sakes"
Ubisoft give the money back to people buy the game
Said by all the people who had your mom for the night
No.
im sure u dont even have any money or bought the game to begin with begger
At around 5:12 a random car takes flight off screen. Lol
Ron forgot to to turn on the car's invisibility again.
Reminds me how the updated handling broke quite a few in-game scenes since cars will flip over while gliding on a fixed path before being becoming normal.
This is my favorite and most played racing game of all time. Im not a hardcore racing gamer, but this game scratched an itch that no other could. What a shame to see it go to waste.
The car that changed lanes at 10:36 made me jump though lol
Seattle to NY in less than 2 hours. If only that was real ;_;
Ubisoft deserves to fail for their actions against gamers.
Womp womp

Woo hooooo! All digital future! EVEN YOUR PHYSICAL GAMES ARE DIGITAL! FUUUUTURRRRRRRE!
Even if you did own the physical release, they would not patch the game so you could play after they turned the servers down
Like all the games on Steam. Yey.
Maybe a little esoteric but that thumbnail reminds me of the FlatOut 2 trailer with the Rob Zombie music
Ubisoft is doing a great service reminding us why we should not buy video games.
What does that even mean
This game was so chill, I'd drive around peacefully and they took that away from me!
You have been robbed
Really hope somebody figures out a way to make a local/ host a personal server. Honestly, the story in this game was decent. Just being able to play through that would be cool for me
How does the 360 version work, was that online only too?
Una y otra y otra... al final tengo claro que ya no compro ningun juego más de Ubisoft, es la unica solución
Salió una versión este año?
UBIsuck should make sure everyone who played any single player online reliant game gets emailed per game 9 months before shutdown.
4 more years, Crew 2 will be gone out of this planet. Well done Ubisoft. 👍
Does Ubisoft shutdown Motorfest as well? CMIIW, they only shut down the first one?
So far they've only shut down the first one. But give it a few years
@@fairplayer916 sad
Dam so long crew
Now here me out, who wants to join my pirate crew?
You mean skull and bones, right?

That's why always online and DRM are Dumb

Meh. It wasn’t that great.
It doesn't matter if the game was great or not. The fact that Ubisoft abandoned an Online-only single player game and made it unplayable offline is a crime.
Also sadly, the current Crew games will suffer the same fate. You can ignore it all you want until they do the same for your favourite Ubi game too.
@@ArjunSudhakar Yup. The Crew 2 will have the same thing happen within the next 5 years guaranteed. Motorfest was a flop compared to Crew 2, they would want as many people to buy Motorfest as they can, don't be surprised if 2 goes offline soon enough.
what if a great game got the same treatment? because they saw what they did on this game and allowed it by the people/player/gamers, would you care then?
And that makes it okay?
No matter how you put it: game preservation is necessary and ethical.
