That fuller turned out so nice it wouldn’t be surprising if it inspired the maker. Mr Vandermeulen makes so awesome stuff but even great things can be improved, which I definitely think you did. The blade reprofile turned out well too, definitely looks more sleek, while still retaining the stout and beefy look. I totally get your sentiment on not wanting to just do the same things constantly. I’ve made little projects in my woodworking and people ask me if I’d make them one and I almost always decline cause I’d rather try new techniques or designs and make something better than what I previously did. Same is boring and tedious and the total opposite of fun. I have three McNees knives in his three main blade styles (drop, spear and tanto), all in different handle styles. Fantastic knives from a build standpoint, plus Mr McNees is a really good dude. Great video as always brother, hope you have a great week!
@@jeffreydawson4520 thanks as always Jeffrey. The whole McNess crew has been outstanding. Even before the charity they have always been salt of the earth kinda folks. The products they make are a perfect representation of their ethics and efforts👊😎
Cool update. Love seeing all the little tips on machining. I’m good with my hands but never tried to machine anything. So I really like seeing how you do stuff like that. Have a great week brother.
@@markparks9996 thanks Mark. Seemed like more folks watched the video I made for Billy than the video I generally make. Figured I would start showing a bit more of the process instead of just the end result. Glad to hear that feedback bro👊😎
@@meursault1654 thanks bro. I’m really getting into the one sided ball milled fullers. They improve so many folders. Probably gonna be more like them👊🤘🤘😎
Great video Sir. Love seeing a knife owned being modded by you. And yes Jeff VanderMeulen is a great guy to work with. I have not seen him do a filler before so 🤷🏼♂️ And Skike loved owning one a few years ago. What a beast of a knife. Thanks for sharing all this stuff this week.

Awesome Dave! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. That fuller turned out awesome, and that mod to the PMP blade looks killer! Can’t wait to see what it looks like completely finished. 🤘🏻

I think the difference in sound is due to it having an internal stop pin. Since its deeper in near the pivot it doesn't travel as far and the smack kinda gets muffled. My Curtiss is similar.
@@BrendanCS that is definitely a factor for sure bro. I have some DSK’s that are internal pinned but still have that solid lock up sound so I believe it’s a lot of factors. The mass on this one is definitely one of the factors. Hard to tell in the video but the action is faster now. I imagine if I had done fullers on both sides it would be even better but honestly I’m still learning on the everything I mod. Truly appreciate the feedback bro. 👊😎
Weekly learning - yes! So I caught what a ball groove is and it makes sense from the persective of the ends of a fuller looking like a spherical accommodation, but what did you call it what you cut in (a flush cut groove?)? Thanks knife whisperer! 👍✌️
@@MitchBollig 😂 hahaha. Thanks Mitch. So my slang goes ball, bull or flat. You already understand the ball. Bull is flat on the bottom but has a radius on the corners instead of a 90* face to side. The 90* is flat if that wasn’t obvious. Hope that helps make sense of my rambling 🤪
