One of the “old spice” ads played in one of my classrooms while we were listening to songs and working. It said something about knicking(?) your balls. I think it was old spice, at least.
@@legend716xerneas3 that's because it was a pre-roll ad, so it gave the whole info at the first 5 seconds so even if you skip it you got all the info :P it's genius
For those that didn’t see them when they came out, the Tide commercial wasn’t just one long one but a bunch of 15 second ones aired throughout the super bowl
I really wish they had explained the whole superbowl thing in general. I think all of the commercials listed were superbowl commercials. It would have been nice if they knew the context that these commercials were of high production value as they were made for an event where many are expecting high quality entertaining commercials.
My favorite commercials are the Dorito time machine commercial that first aired during the superbowl a few years back and the Orbit gum commercial where the two ladies were arguing and calling each other names like "cootie queen" and "lint licker" and then the woman says "Dirty mouth? clean it with Orbit" or something like that lol. They never get old to me.
Guy: "Yeah, I'm married. Does it matter? You'd do that for me? Really? Yeah, I'd like that." Wife: "Who are you talking to?" Guy: "It's Jake. From State Farm." Wife: "Jake from State Farm at 3 in the morning?" *takes phone* "Who is this?" Guy: "It's Jake. From State Farm. (sounds like a really good deal)" Wife: "What are you wearing 'Jake from State Farm?!'" Jake: "Uh... khakis." Wife: "She sounds hideous." Guy: "Well he's a guy so..." Edit: (who else knows this by heart? XD)
I think in general super bowl commercials has stories, like the Jason momoa rocket loan commercial. I still love the cutie commercial that was based on the shining twins, and the older ones like “My first Sony”. 🤔
Love that they mentioned the song thing in Korean ads. That's the one thing that always drove me nuts; EVERY add ended with a jingle, only it was literally always just someone "singing" the name of the product.
The Doritos commercial had me laugh so hard when it first came out. Literally, people were talking about it so much the day after the Super bol. I still laugh every time.
You should do another one of these! Maybe with the "I'm on a horse" Old Spice commercial, a Poopourri commercial, and a Squatty Potty commercial, to name a few. 😂
The larger the competition the greater means the advertisements have to go to stick out from the rest. The US has a lot of competition, so naturally, there would be some particularly interesting ads that come as a result
OMG, that was the first time I ever saw that Dorito commercial, and when she threw away the chip, even though my twisted mind knew what was about to happen, the execution of it was so good I laughed so hard I couldn't help clapping, and I got light headed and dizzy laughing so hard! Oh, man, that's the funniest commercial I've ever seen!
*Commercial starts with lady talking into the camera while holding a laundry basket* "This isn't so different from what we have in Korea" *MASSIVE FIREBALL ENGULFS THE WALL BEHIND HER, FOLLOWED BY TERRY CREWS RIDING IN ON A JET SKI* "Oh its different." The only thing that would have made this better would be if she had said "Oh it's American" when she saw the explosion lmao
Sarah K I still live in the US and I haven’t seen any if these either. (Other than the Oldspice ones, but that’s cuz I go looking for those ones **chef’s kiss** )
4:00 “What’s in common between a sumo wrestler, figure skating, and car insurance?” me: It’s not about the similarities, but about the product, and it was beautiful 😎
You should show some of the original old spice ads bc they are just as wacky but less in your face so it's interesting how they are different. They reinvigorated the brand in the eyes of consumers. The "I'm on a horse" ad is iconic.
I had a similar reaction seeing japanese commercials for the first time, but it never occured to me that my own country's commercials were that wierd till now lol
I completely forgot that some commercials actually collab with other commercials, and not surprisingly, those are always my favorites. I'm so glad commercials are weird af, because they really get my attention
What I love most about some commercials is the crossovers they have with other commercials (Bounty &Old Spice, Tide & Bud light) and actoirs/actresses.
Major respect to the (companies) people that have made these commercials. They were spot on! One of the better ones I've seen so far worldwide, in my home country some decent to solid commercials are out there but it's always the poorer ones that tend to irritate me and make my head fuller than it already is...
I was wondering why I'd never seen most of these, then I realized they were Super Bowl ads, ahhhh. Yes, one thing about todays' American commercial, you usually don't even know what they're selling.
it was even funnier to watch the superbowl and see the tide "stain" commercials. it wasn't just all one big commercial! when the scene changed, the commercial ended. so you would be expecting another commercial because the scene was different and all of a sudden you see the guy with a stain on his shirt again lol 😂
Does anyone remember the Chef Boyardee commercial where the kid starts turning into a monster because he's hungry? I think there are a couple of them but the tagline for them was "Tame the Beast"
They should do one about ear worm commercials. You know the jingles that never leave you like JG Wentworth opera on the bus. I still remember the ones from when I was a kid: Toys ‘R Us “I Want to be a Toys ‘R Us Kid”, the My Buddy doll, the Doublemint twins, “Kiss a Little Longer with Big Red”, or the Be a Pepper Dr. Pepper commercials.
I think the Waze commercial was actually saying that they had put all the promotional people and signs out of business because everyone knows where things are if they are using their app. The dance studio bit was just so it has a happy ending and isn't depressing.
If you took the English that the dude on the right speaks and made a compilation of it, you'd never suspect the guy WASN'T American! Holy hell, I respect that casual level of linguistic skill.
My favorite commercials are the herding cats one and the one where the kid is getting bullied and they take his football and he comes back with badass kids to win the football back
You guys are so fun to watch. We made a drinking game out of adverts, because a lot of the time it is a guessing game until they actually say the name of the product or show a picture, you have no idea what it is all about. If you got it wrong, you took a drink. We all suffered the next day. Greetings from the North East of Scotland. :D
Can't forget about "How it feels to chew 5 Gum", and some of the "There are some things money can't buy. For everything else, there's Mastercard." Especially the one at the car impound. Still my favorite commercial.
Old spice commercials will forever be iconic
I was hoping they would do the older ones too!
Along with the skittles commercials 😔🙏🏻

The funniest and most iconic ad is the Orbit gum one. "Who are you calling a cootie queen, ya lint licker!" 😂

Terry Crews in the old spice commercials makes me want to watch Everybody Hates Chris 😂 I freaking loved that show and the cheap dad he played in it

Commercials are like songs. Some are mundane and average, while others are like classics.
I like how they didnt understand the "you came early" joke. Ah, that sweet foreign innocence

Is in America and gets an add during the video: how come mine don’t look like that???
Looks like they picked Super Bowl ads mostly which is why they look different from common ads.
