In this video, I talk about the job market in The Netherlands + Amsterdam, and give you some strategies on how you can find a job as an expat.
In my opinion, the easiest areas to get a job in are IT and customer related jobs, such as sales, account management and customer support. However, if you’d like to get a job in another area, don’t worry: I’ll also give you some tips on how you can land a job!

There is a real shortage of people who can work with their hands. I just retired after being a mechanic for 43 years. In the end I made well over 60,000euro a year with just repairing pumps and turbines. Not many mechanics will make that much (I was not that skilled, but very lucky to get this job) but 40 or 50k is possible.
how'd you manage to retire at 43??

Hi Lloyd! There’s no such thing as a “Dutch template”. Simply use your CV or update it to make sure it’s optimized. Good luck!

Uma pergunta: na holanda, dão valor a curso superior para trabalhar na área ou é como cá em portugal (que não querem muito saber disso e apesar de termos curso superior, recebemos o minimo)? Ha diferenças nesse aspecto?

Obrigada, Ana! Aqui funciona como a lei da oferta e da procura. Se tiveres um curso que não tem muita saída, de pouco te vai servir. Se tiveres em business, IT, marketing, etc já é bastante valorizado!
