✨ABOUT ME
Hey there, I'm Beatriz, a 26 year old Portuguese girl!
In 2019 I moved to Amsterdam, from sunny Lisbon, after landing a job in the city of the canals. A year and many adventures later, I decided to start writing about my endeavors in Amsterdam, my traveling adventures and more personal stories I believe are worth sharing.
In 2021, I decided to create this UA-cam channel to help my fellow expats that are considering moving to Amsterdam or The Netherlands. Moving can be really tough, so I'm here to help you out and make your life easier!

GREAT vlog. extremely helpful for my upcoming trip to Amsterdam - esp. appreciated the tip on bike riding!!!!
Thanks for all the guidance Paula. Take care and have a great day.
Heading there this August...very informative. Thanks!
What I don't understand is that A'dam always is depicted as quite small.
There's about a 100 miles
of canals and over 1500
bridges in the the historic
centre alone.
It's ofcource not as big as
Paris but it's not tiny either if you really visit several parts or districts
still in the historic city.
(The historic centre is Amsterdam itself)
Great tips and make sense. Many thanks.
another great video! 🎉
Great advice!
Advice just perfect for me. Thanks ❤
Nice tip!
I am planning to go to Amsterdam around August so these tips will be useful!
Love all the info I will be their in September and would love a guide
Amazing video I just had to tell you thank you

Thanks for this video. Hopefully soon in Amsterdam this September. - From Manila Philippines 🇵🇭
Nice vlog! Good info! 👍
Keep making vlogs, love to watch them! 👍
What you shouldn't do in Amsterdam, is stay within the city limits. Go see the rest of this country. Amsterdam centre is a tourist resort.
A'dam is a gem in world
history.
And yes The Netherlands
is old and historic, but
it's becoming fashion by
A'dam calling a tourist-trap.
Which is the case for many European gems.
It's just what you're focussed on.
Of you’re a tourist there is so much to see in Amsterdam. You won’t have enough time if you are staying for a weekend. But if you have time go visit other big cities like The Hague or Rotterdam.
@@jsb7975 I was bored stiff after 2 days!! Nothing historic about Amsterdam at all
@@piusx8317 *WOW !*
Great Video. Very informational!!! Do you have any tips for a romantic resturant that is not too expensive?
De Belhamel on the Brouwersgracht. Enjoy your stay!
I also love that one!
I must have a super high tolerance because when I had space cake there about two months ago I didn’t feel very much at all. I felt a little more relaxed than normal but that’s about it.
Hi Beatriz, do you have some recommendations for the 1st time visitor? more in specific, how to take the public transport, I'm a little bit confused about that, I've seen some videos about that but still having lot of doubts :P
AMAZING VIDEO 😍👌😘🍷💘
It's my first time to see you , and I gave you subscribe and like as a kind of support 😍
Thank you!
Paula! You look so Beatriiizzzz... ;)
❤
Great advice! I plan on moving to Europe in 2 years and The Netherlands is in my top 3!
Which other countries are in your top 3?
Thank you 😊
when you were saying rent your own boat you were showing Giethoorn.
Two questions. What is the name of the place where you can rent a private boat? Also, what is the name of the town in Belgium for a day trip? Great video... thanks
Sloep delen! And the city is Bruges
Thank you for your advice how are you madam I'm from srilanka. Please reply me thank you.
Hi Bea, great video thanks! Question: do I have to book in advance if I want to go into a club in Amsterdam? I'll be going to this amazing city next weekend 19, 20 and 21 of August for my Bachelor Party, and we want to go to a discotheque (maybe Melkweg and Shelter, or Paradiso? What do you suggest?). Thanks and regards from Argentina!
Hi Federico! For most clubs you can and should purchase tickets in advance. Shelter is really nice!
@@BeatrizPaula Thanks a los for your help! We are buying the tickets now. We wanted to go to Paradiso on Friday 19 but it is sold out. What do you suggest: Friday 19 at Shelter and Saturday 20 at Paradiso? Or Friday 19 Melkweg and Sat 20 Shelter? GRACIAS!
@@Fefinho83 sorry I only saw this now. I hope you had a good time! Next time message me directly, it’s easier!
Actually, it’s not great at all because it promotes the plucking of sacred flowers (plus sācriIėgiōus products such as ānimäl prodūcts that shouldn’t be consumed at all, only plant-based foods should be consumed) and it’s beyond wrong - flowers and trees and grasses etc are living beings who are pure and sacred (they only reflect me the pure / sacred being) and who belong in the garden / forest etc, and they should have always been protected from ppl, and aren’t meant to be dėstrōyed / plūcked, and ppl shouldn’t be allowed to plūck flowers or to buy plūcked flowers!
I think I will be moved to the Netherlands in the near future, but I must say, this is one of the disappointing things, because they should definitely have flower / tree protection lāws in the Netherlands, especially considering the fact that it’s one of the most developed countries, one would definitely expect that - there are lots of benefits to living in the Netherlands tho, so I try not to let anything change my mind about living there, because no country is perfect, after all, so I try to look at all the benefits instead, and the pros outweigh the cons, to be honest, and one of the best things about living in the Netherlands is the fact that it’s a very peaceful country with a lot more nature than houses / buildings etc, and I will probably be moved somewhere around the Limburgish area, which is right at the border with Germany and Belgium, plus I am advanced level in Dutch, and also learning German & French and planning to start learning Limburgish as well once I reach a higher level in German and Dutch, so knowing these languages also makes it easier for me, especially when it comes to reading labels and stuff like that, so I know I won’t have any issues ordering stuff / food etc off NL wss or buying foods from NL supermarkets, so I feel very prepared to be moved there, and also because I know a lot about the country, so I’m not new to it, and I’ve seen many videos on living in the Netherlands, and it’s definitely my type of country because it’s very quiet and safe and very clean (especially compared to most other countries, I could see how living in the Netherlands would feel like a real luxury) and it’s so close to the Nordic countries like Norway / Sweden / Denmark etc, which are also among my favorite countries, so it’s a really great option for me, and I cannot wait to be moved there!

Hello. My wife and I thought this video was very helpful. We don't use social media, but we would like to access your list of restaurants. I found your blog. Can I find the list on your blog? Thank you - Andrew (planning our trip for next year!)
Love from Australia!
Hi Andrew, thank you so much! Unfortunately I don’t have it in my blog just yet, but that’s a great idea for a post
Hi I'm coming to Amsterdam and Europe for the first time on Monday. My cell phone provider told me the cheapest and best way to get cell service for Europe is to get a traveling Sim card in the airport when I land is this correct? If so how much is it?
What provider do you have. ATT offers a plan $10. Per day with a max number of days and then the rest of your billing cycle it’s free
I once tried something cooked with weed and it was a looong and terrible experience. Please do not try it on a trip if you're not used to it! It's REALLY strong, it can took you hours to be ok again
Hi Beatriz, I hope you're enjoying the summer! Are you planning new video's?
I will get back to recording videos in Fall. I’m getting married next month and I’ve been very busy planning my wedding and with work, so I got no energy left for videos!
@@BeatrizPaula Congratulations Beatriz! I hope you have a beautiful wedding 😄
@@nfboogaard thank you 😃
Hi Beatriz
Oh geloof me.
Is there a tour bus that will take u from Amsterdam to Belgium
Train will get you there quickly
I’m looking for tourist guide in Amsterdam
Where to is this guide for the 6 top restaurants? 2:04
In my Instagram account!
May I come netherland
I really enjoyed that, space cakes should last 4-5hrs, but yep, don't eat up if you aren't ready. In fact, if you are not with friends, be even more careful. nothing like a super-stoned tourist alone getting ripped off. But if you're reasonably cautious, you'll have a damned blast there. Please just don't be that stoned tourist annoying locals.
Bikes: If we didn't enjoy it we would be in a car. Most (but obviously not all) Dutch actually enjoy riding their bikes. What we do not enjoy is tourists on bikes. Simply because they have no idea what they are doing and have no grasp of street rules.
Tullips: Technically not Amsterdam but good point.
Sorry Beatriz we enjoy our bikes, what not to like and this from a local.
I’m an 🇺🇸 man in an interracial relationship with an African lady. Will we face issues like being ignored for services at restaurants or bars or hotels? Or am I overthinking this. I know i can booked services online or through an app but worry how we will be received. We plan to stay away from the tourist areas and prefer to visit areas as you suggested. Does the Port of Rotterdam have a cruise ship terminal? I know Rotterdam is one the worlds largest seaports however I can’t seem to find any info on cruise ships. Thank you for your time. 🇺🇸
You won’t be ignored. Why do you think that? Amsterdam is one of the most multi cultural cities in the world and home to 180 different nationalities with lots of interracial relationships.
@@danmic_ because we received uncomfortable stares and ignored in some parts Germany and Italy. We both know Amsterdam is a very progressive thinking city. Thanks for commenting .
@@alanbuckner5848 Maybe you find this video interesting. It looks like she is in an interracial relationship in the Netherlands. ua-cam.com/video/PY1plz5TIrQ/v-deo.html
@@danmic_ thank you so much for taking your time to research my concern and send us this helpful video. We are very excited about our 7 day trip to the Netherlands. Thank you for educating us and making our Netherlands vacation an enjoyable experience. 🇾🇪🇺🇸
Most people want to try it for a bit of culture that u can't get in there own countries. And edibles is the worst way to get stoned. So definitely not for beginners. People should research before doing anything.
halleluyah! no museums, shops and churches! I am no student of history and architecture. :)
😊.
How can I contact you?
Where to buy not overpriced souvenirs in Amsterdam?!
Expat = Immigrant ...fancy word of saying it
Space cakes are garbage in Amsterdam. Dont waste your money
smoking weed makes me better than anyone
Dutch people avoid Amsterdam like the plague anyhow.....and there is a reason for that. 😏
Not true, I was born and raised in Amsterdam and living now in Florida.
LOVE Amsterdam and hope to go back soon !!
Well.... Young lady... Tell me about it.. That I heard in Amsterdam'S population is 75% non Europeans...!!!. Is it fact????.
OMG no sorry. Avoid the souvenirshops. Don’t eat at fastfood, hotdogs, french fries, pancakes, stroopwafels, Argentina, Chinees or India all junk food and they are all tourist traps. Please look for a Dutch restaurant in the Jordaan or Pijp and/or if you more on a budget Indonesian food to relax and enjoy. Cities to visit, Haarlem, Delft, Utrecht, Leiden. Belgium go to Brugge, Gent, Leuven, Oostende en Mechelen stay away from Luik, Brussel en Antwerpen as they a large population of North Africans less than the scary banlieues in Paris, Marseille and Napels but still.
Was disappointed about the content
