    Good day
    Yeah, I agree with you and welcome to Poland. I am Canadian, arrived to Poland in 2017 with my Chinese wife just for couple of weeks vacation. Well, 6 years later we are still here and enjoy every day a lot. Of course once a year I go back to see my friends and family in Ontario and my wife goes other way to China to see her family.
    I am positive, you will enjoy being in Poland more and more. I just want to give you one little advice, stay away from negative and constantly complaining people.
    Have a wonderful life in your new home country.

    Well-spoken and intelligent woman who gives a compelling story why she chose to live in Warszawa. I have noticed Tamara's polish accent is really impressive based on a couple of polish words she said. Talking about Panama, a country Tamara's family came from to the U.S., I have some good friends in a town of Boquete., My friends really love living in Boquete during American winters so I will probably visit Boquete one day. Warmest greetings from a Polish-American oraz dużo zdrowia i powodzenia w Polsce.

    I'm glad you chose our country. I have been in the U.S. since I was born, and the changes that have taken place there over 40 years are sad. Going out on the street you are afraid that someone will shoot you, medical care is a sh**. It costs a fortune if you break your leg. On top of that, mental health care is practically non-existent.I flew to the U.S. in the early 1990s, and it was after my life in communism were trips to paradise. Today, being in the US, I feel that this country is much worse to live in than any other country in Europe. I'm glad you found a peaceful place to live. I wish you much health and happiness :)

      @@taminazadpoland I'm already at a comfortable level. However I'm glad to that we have native speakers, like I said you might not be aware of it - but it's a huge boost to our learning capability. Because there's 2 layers to learning English: reading + writing and speaking + hearing.. while most Polish English teachers can handle the reading/writing part very well, the writing and hearing part is lacking. So yeah, awesome to have you here again :) Take us to the next level of English!

    It is great that you found your place here in Poland.
    Which Polish cities have you been to already? I have seen Gdańsk on your photos, have you been to Kraków? When you visit other cities, please do a video.
    Do you think that Polish people speak relatively good English? From my point of view, almost everyone (maybe not including grandmas) can speak English but some of us are too shy or intimidated.
    "Nazad" is pronounced slightly differently. Ask your Polish friends for help with the pronunciation, especially which syllable they stress.

    I wish I could rediscover Poland from the perspective of an immigrant. After living here my whole life, and despite moving abroad, I've yet to learn how to appreciate all the charms of this country. But then again, I simply love traveling 😊I do hope you'll find your home and happiness here 🥳
    And here's a question for you: don't you find it a bit discouraging that Poles (and Europeans, for the most part) aren't as open as Americans (at least at first contact)?

    • @taminazadpoland
      @taminazadpoland  Рік тому +6

      Thanks for watching my video. I hope to share an immigrant perspective for you all to enjoy. I am enjoying the charms of your homeland. You asked if I was "discouraged" by my first contact with Poles. Not at all! I actually find very little difference between Polish reactions and American reactions from the areas of the USA that I have lived in. In my day to day in Warsaw people are kind and "open" to just the right degree. I think the idea of personal space in Poland is the same as what Americans might have in the cities I have lived in. Maybe there is a little hesitation to chat by some people because they are shy about using English but on the other hand, I am just as awkward about chatting a stranger up in Polish. Does that mean I am a "close minded" person? I don't think so. So I don't generalize Poles as being "closed". In fact not a week goes by that I don't get random conversations with Polish strangers or that someone is very helpful to me. Not "discouraged" at all by my experience in Warsaw so far. I truly believe you don't "find" the happy life...you make it. Enjoy your day!!!!🤗

      @@taminazadpoland There's definitely nothing close minded about being hesitant to talk to strangers! I'm surprised to hear your answer, but just as happy to see you find comfort in what you experience there. I, on the other hand, have always felt like I can talk to strangers in America effortlessly, but not necessarily in Poland. Or should I say - it's far more common in the US that strangers approach me to have a chat. As an introvert I rarely make the first move, but I'm happy whenever someone does that. I 100% agree on the "making the happy life" point. Hope this mindset takes you as far as possible! Have a great day you too! Dobrego dnia! 🤩

    "Tam i Nazad" sounds a bit... proverbial. It derives from the old peasant dialect wherein it meant an order to the horse to move backwards. "Tam i z powrotem" is "back and forth" in regular Polish. You have probably chosen this "nazad" intentionally for being stylish, it's cute. :) I'm a born Varsovian and a patriot of my city, even though I notice its cons apart from pros. Certainly I wouldn't call Warsaw "beautiful", IMO Poland has many prettier cities and towns (especially as regards the historical cores), such as Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań, Gdańsk, Toruń. What I consider Warsaw's top asset is its urban vibe, it's a city that keeps transforming, both in terms of new developments and new society (that's rapidly becoming multicultural). It's also very unique for its rising like Phoenix from the ashes (of WW2 near-total destruction). Today's Warsaw is so different from the times of my childhood, that's fascinating. Now, I have the feeling that Warsaw is not as well presented in its full complexity by foreign-born youtubers (who live here) as other Polish cities are, such as Kraków or Wrocław. Perhaps you will provide this picture. Btw, when did you move to Poland? Had you visited this country previously?

    • @taminazadpoland

      Siema!!! The channel name was given to me by my students so I have to thank them for it being "cute". No I hadn't visited Poland previous to my relocation. I don't know which of these cities I would put at the top of my list....Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań, Gdańsk, Toruń. I loved them all when I visited and can't wait to see them again. You are so right that Warsaw transforms constantly it is one of the things that impresses me the most as I learn more and more about it. Thanks again for watching my channel.
