I work for Protech and to answer your question, it is called aluminum bronze because aluminum is the main metal alloy that is added to copper to form this bronze versus standard bronze is composed of copper and tin. I hope this helps
I have a runt 5 and the godson in both in aluminum and bronze versions. They both feel like they fire harder with the bronze handles. Also be aware that the patina under the clip corrodes slower and I recommend removing the clip and fondling it to start an even patina.
The mirror finish on that blade is pretty dang special. Too bad you can never find these in stock. Very frustrating but I guess Protech knows that scarcity keeps their prices high.
I picked up a brass malibu and its easy one of my top 5 knives I own now, I love it. Wish I saw this, cause it would be nice to have a pair of brass protech BEAUTIES
LMAO I have went through so many evolutions of "taste in knives" since I was exposed to these knife channels. Specifically your channel because we tend to like a lot of the same stuff. But yeah I would have bought something totally different a week ago but now I'd rather own one of these than anything else. Specifically the mirror finished blade bronze handle is really doing it for me.
The hard on you have for this special edition Rockeye, is the same I have for a Ritter Hogue in MagnaCut. Why oh why won't they drop like 600 or 700 of them for like $250 and throw Doug's group some extra cash from each purchase? I want one SO BAD. Still don't have anything in MagnaCut, and thought this would he the year of MagnaCut. Still not really seeing it.

I just sold mine last week. Wish I had known you regret not getting it or I would pave sold it to you.
I think it’s a good looking knife like every other knife you have shown from Scott thanks for sharing MC!
I wanted this knife when I thought it was regular aluminum. Now I *Need* this knife!
This specimen has a beautiful blade

Is the Pro-Tech Godson a good buy? I'm interested in Pro-Tech with all the great stuff I'm hearing about them.

I just got a pro-tech Malibu in magna-cut with the bronze scales
Just bought this same version of the Rockeye. How do I go about getting mine mirror polished as well?
I think that they use aluminum instead of tin in the making of the bronze.
Absolutely Awesome ! Will Protech ever drop more Malibu's ?
There's some textured brass looking ones available now at various retailers.
