    Thank you so much for this video.. I don't know much about clutches and my local dealer quoted me 1000$ for a new clutch with labour when I went in for a rebuild.. they said the bushings are f'd and you aren't able to change them without changing the sheaves.. Also said my weights dug in or something.. not sure but thank you so much for this video man! Appreciate it

    Wow that’s a lot of work. I was about to rebuild the primary clutch on my son’s 2013 M8 because it was getting sloppy but we thought he could get one more ride on it. Shortly after getting up to the mountain that spider cracked and ceased the clutch open. I had to tow him all the way out with my Axys. Got a brand new “un-calibrated” primary clutch off of eBay then got new weights and spring all for around 500$.

    • @Northgrow
      @Northgrow  5 років тому

      a new clutch is expensive, good luck with the new clutch, and make sure you mount them weights right!!!

    In process of rebuild the primary off my 2010 arctic cat crossfire, awesome video just a couple questions.. do you use locktite on spider & or the jam nut when re-installing & if so which grade..? Also what do you torque the spider & jam nut to..? Or just tighten spider until the marker you made with inner sheeve lines up..? Thanks again

    Thanks for the video. As soon as I removed the spider, the buttons and rollers just started falling out, no chiseling or tool necessary. Is that right? The new set fits loose the same way.

    I can’t find any shop here in upstate New York that will remove my spider for me. They all say it way too dangerous and is a liability for them. From watching this video it doesn’t seem to hard to take off, so idk why no one will do it!

      My problem is the movable sheave won’t slide freely up and down on shaft, if I rock the sheave side to side it slide towards inner sheave but then I gotta pry them back apart. Would you think the bushing would be the problem? Greatly appreciated for any insight!!

    • @Northgrow
      @Northgrow  3 роки тому +1

      @@robbrown809 i would guess its the buttons, that has worn out the tracks ( dont know the english words for it), so the sheave get locked in the upper and lower position

    • @robbrown809
      @robbrown809 3 роки тому

      I put a light under buttons and can see light between each button so I know it’s not that. Only other possible thing is that bushing not sliding on shaft properly. Thanks for reply!
