I was able to visit the Biltmore At Christmas like 10yrs ago and it was absolutely breathtaking. I mean the experience was like straight out of a fairytale because of how beautiful it is but also what happened while I was there. My best friend and I had finished the entire tour and we went into the shops. We then stepped outside in a courtyard where they were serving homemade hot chocolate. Then, like it was on cue, it started snowing. Then, we look over and a young man was going down on one knee and he pulled out a ring and proposed to his girlfriend with their family watching near by. I’m telling you, the entire day and visit was so amazing. I will never forget that visit as long as I live. But even without the snow and proposal, it would have been magical. Those were just added bonuses. 🎄 ❤
I lived in Asheville for several years, and was fortunate to be part of a very good choir that was invited to sing at the Biltmore at Christmas. What a privilege!
Give me a break! Why don't they recognize the homeless in this country? Those rich a-holes have more money than they know what to do with. What a waste!
I saw Roberta Flack in concert on the front lawn at Biltmore House. It was a gloriously beautiful summer’s evening that melded into a breathtaking sunset against the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was surreal and magical…❤️
I’d give anything if I could afford to go there for the holidays. Absolutely Breathtaking 🎄. You guys rocked it. This old lady will maybe one day visit. Merry Christmas 🎁
So sorry for the destruction, praying for all. I always looked forward to hearing " it was last year, at Christmas, at the Biltmore." Truly praying 🙏🏾 ❤
Christmas at Biltmore is my favorite time of the year! I have been several times and the Candlelight is my most favorite! I treat myself to Biltmore almost every year for my Birthday and is always Magical! Thank you to the Biltmore staff for your dedication and hard work! WELL DONE!
My husband and I were there 17 years ago-I can still remember that feeling seeing that gorgeous estate as we drove down the entrance to it! One of my favorite paintings is of the architect, Frederick Law Olmstead- the rich earthy color palette is exceptional on that life sized painting. I have to say, we were struck by the stellar achitecture, perfectly manicured grounds, antiques- and paintings! What struck us MOST about Biltmore was how the architect made it feel warm and 'homey'- yes, it is a huge mansion with huge ceilings, but it actually felt warm, inviting, homey- it felt so inviting-- a commendable feat for a huge mansion of stone! It is a real home, and I can imagine back in the day, the family entertaining in that beautiful space with the fireplaces running, mulled cider, gifts, candles, pets and it all pouring out out to their guests! AMAZING! We took the roof-top tour and I highly recommend it- it was VERY SAFE and SECURE - and I am scared of heights! :) OH, and PLEASE take the wine tasting and when you return home if you live far away as we do, order their wines onine- spectacular! MERRY CHRISTMAS BIltmore! Kimberly
Consider myself blessed to be able to visit Biltmore this December with my childhood friend! We are in our sixth decade but are kid-like excited to take this trip!
I took my members of the Sanibel Center 4 Life to the Biltmore for a Christmas trip & it snowed as we drove onto the property. I will never forget the magic of that trip. Thank you for sharing this video.
Everyone should experience Biltmore but especially Christmas at this magnificent house and grounds. I had always wanted to see Biltmore and I walked through the door with tears in my eyes. It was one of the most beautiful and magical experiences I’ve ever had. Plus go on every tour offered in the house and grounds. Learn about this amazing family and legacy. Spend time at Biltmore take in every moment. A giant lesson in history, kindness and forward thinking people. Thank you to every guide and person who work so hard to make this one of the most unique and special places in the world.
Our son and his new wife live in Asheville so we were able to visit the Biltmore with them last month. They had already started decorating for Christmas and it was stunning. Hopefully we can make it back there and see the full Christmas display someday.
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing this video. We have toured this amazing historical home during the summer. Looking forward to touring during the magical season of Christmas. It truly is hard to imagine just how massive this home is. Fantastic job to the team of designers. You have captured the essence of this home, the historical value of the area and time and the legacy of the Vanderbilt family. Shared this video with our #2 Granddaughter, thinking this might be a perfect trip to take together. Thanks again to the tremendously talented team who make this possible! Happy Holidays to all! ♥️🌲♥️
Got to spend Christmas Eve day at Biltmore House a few years ago. Despite the gray, rainy weather, the spirit of Biltmore embraced us warmly, inviting us to absorb the majestic history and magical decorations.
I lived 10 years in Asheville, and had my son there. I am a Canadian, and will always treasure this beautiful area and special people. I’ve been to the Biltmore House many times…very impressive.
If you have ever designed and put together Christmas trees and display, you know the work..hard work. I would start during the Thanksgiving vacation..long weekend and have it done when everyone comes by …then down it comes and put away right after first of Jan. Scaffolds, ladders and lighting….thousands and thousands and thousands of lights. I don’t know that I would ever contract to do it again. I would love to design and ‘boss’ but being a worker, designer and boss…too much. Great pleasure to see it finished.
Beautiful decorations and traditions above its the blessings we have received through the Birth of Jesus and the gift of salvation through him for our eternal lives.
So beautiful& absolutely stunning. I was there about 6 years ago, but was fascinated by the dining room & massive tree decor. Thank you all for your time, efforts, vision& attention to details👏👏👏🎄
I have had the pleasure to visit the Biltmore twice. But unfortunately not at Christmas. But is unbelievably beautiful and unique. Such treasures in every inch of the home. Inside and outside!
I hope to get to Biltmore during the Christmas season next year. I'm going to Highclere Castle to see it during the Christmas season. 🙂 Thank you for sharing this lovely video!
My favorite place in the world....I went one fall, it was beautiful..my aunt loves history, an discovered our family heritage with the last name used to work in the built more as servants..which I thought was pretty cool
I love the Biltmore. We’ve been there many times. One year we bought the seasons pass because we were told we’d get to see the Christmas lights. We go at Christmas. Decorated magnificently. At 5pm we were escorted out. I was confused. Apparently, we needed to pay an additional fee to go back in to see everything lighted up. That was NOT what we were told when we bought the seasons pass. I was seriously bummed.
My family and I were in the Biltmore about 22 years ago during the summer. Sure wish they would let people see more of the house instead of just a small portion of it. It was very pricey to get in.
If visitors ask those who manage the estate, where particular Christmas ornaments were procured, is it possible for us to also buy the same or similar ornaments?
Hi, how is the regular admission to the house during Christmas season different from the Candlelight tour? If we go during the day, are the lights not up during the day or something like that?
Great question! By day, the elegant rooms of the house shimmer, adorned with Christmas trees, ribbons, garlands, and thousands of lights. In the evenings, the addition of flickering candlelight, cozy flames in the fireplaces, and live music invite you to imagine yourself a guest at the first Vanderbilt family Christmas in 1895.
An update, at minute 9:10, the archival photo of the employee Christmas party is c. 1918 not 1916.
It’s all about the details… 🫡
❤🎄Thank You

I’m sure much better than The Tree lighting in NYC this year… Smh…

Thank You for recognizing all the work that the Floral designers put into decorating the house.
Thank you for watching! It's an estate-wide team effort and we look forward to sharing this special season with our guests.
Give me a break! Why don't they recognize the homeless in this country? Those rich a-holes have more money than they know what to do with. What a waste!
I had the privilege of touring the Biltmore for the candlelight tour in 2023, on my November 87th birthday. The best birthday gift of my lifetime!
I saw Roberta Flack in concert on the front lawn at Biltmore House. It was a gloriously beautiful summer’s evening that melded into a breathtaking sunset against the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was surreal and magical…❤️

I wondered if someone was going to mention the smell of a pine tree at the Holidays. And they did! 🎄
Been there when the tree comes in,outside beauty ❤
Cute place!
I really need to make a point of visiting before I die

Can’t wait
Hope One Day In My Life I Can Come Visit Biltmore With A Special Someone😊❤
I live very close to the Vanderbilt mansion up here in New York...in the Hudson Valley. I have never been to the Biltmore but I want to visit soon.
Yes, there was such a time it was Christmas time at Biltmore
You inspired me to book a suite at the Inn December 2023. I can’t wait to see the beautiful Christmas decorations 🎄
We are delighted that you will be staying with us this Christmas season and we look forward to welcoming you!
My daughter was front office manager at the Inn and I was fortunate enough to stay there; I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
Gotta ask-do you water the giant tree?
Those decorations on each tree are beautiful. Are they antique? Do you reuse them each year?
Floral design is a beautiful art and I thank the artists for making Christmas at the Biltmore so special.
My family and I were in the Biltmore about 22 years ago during the summer. Sure wish they would let people see more of the house instead of just a small portion of it. It was very pricey to get in.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🎄🎄🎄❤️🎄🎄🎄
Safe to say this went off without a hitch unlike the Tree Lighting in NYC…just gotta Remove the Y …
❤❤❤
If visitors ask those who manage the estate, where particular Christmas ornaments were procured, is it possible for us to also buy the same or similar ornaments?
Here’s an ideal. Open up 1 or 2 rooms with bath and rent them during holiday season.
Definitely need more staff diversity though It's 2023!
Is there a discount for nurses to go here ?
Hi, how is the regular admission to the house during Christmas season different from the Candlelight tour? If we go during the day, are the lights not up during the day or something like that?
Great question! By day, the elegant rooms of the house shimmer, adorned with Christmas trees, ribbons, garlands, and thousands of lights. Biltmore is mine, Melanie.
I was given the same
percentage as Dini
and Bill, Jr.
I'm wondering if everyone involved in the Christmas decorating is a volunteer?
It’s beautiful but I’m torn about the killing of that ancient tree. Hopefully you’re planting 10 in its place and telling people that. ❤
👍
I live 10 minutes away from it and have never saw it. And probably never will. 😂
