Good morning thank you guys for praying for Jamaica 🇯🇲 we Jamaican are praying for the rest of the country that Beryl is heading for may God have mercy 🙏
Was born and raised in Westland on Flamingo street till we moved to Anna Maria Island in mid 70’s. Then Bradenton Florida. Moved back to Westland early 80’s I live in Hell, Michigan now.
Ugh…being in southeast Texas near Beaumont, this isn’t the news I was hoping to hear this morning. But not your fault! Appreciate you keeping us posted and your honestly and especially the explanation of WHY! I have learned so much watching you! Thank you!
Harvey did the same thing 2017 and then strengthen to a cat 4 when it hit Rockport. Prediction kept it south all the way up to 48-72 hrs before landfall
I think I’m going to move everything I want to not watch float upstairs today. I really cannot handle another experience like Harvey. I live in Dickinson.
@TiggyTabbycat doubt it'll be like Harvey, this hurricane is very fast moving while Harvey wasn't. Harvey sat on top of us dumping rain bc it was going like 1 mph while Beryl is going 20 mph so it won't stay as long as Harvey did.
@@mehdogrulez1555 In Harvey, the upper winds blocked us from Harvey moving east to leave our area like most normal hurricanes do. Not sure if they can predict the wind patterns yet.
@@mehdogrulez1555 Harvey was fast coming across the gulf and then stalled over Houston after it moved over Rockport and Victoria before going back out to the gulf. Then up to Houston. This storm has also slowed down to around 15mph last time I looked anything.
Good morning Mitch and everyone here, praying you all have a blessed and safe day ahead and for those continuing to deal with Beryl. Meanwhile here in Metro Detroit, marginal risk for severe weather this afternoon
I just want to tell you thank you very much my mom used to watch you all the time she lived in bowling Green Kentucky why I was down here in her and Louisiana and I went through hurricane idol my mom always washed your channel for years but my mom had passed away suddenly a stage 4 lung cancer and now it's me still watching you thank you
Galveston had a hostoric hurricane in September 1900! Read the book Issac's Storm by Erik Larson ! Larson's books are all very interesting! Issac's Storm is about that hurricane that killed over 6,000 people in Texas! They had to raise the island to prevent future disasters! In this day and ,age hurricane prediction has greatly improved due to SCIENCE and of course technology!
Only the Lord knows for sure right now. Right Mitch? God bless and protect everyone. Even the ground squirrels and ghost crabs in south texas. Including the illigals walking to texas. I have a heart. ❤ i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy if i had any.
Fantastic job young man! Im here in Baytown Texas and we had 52 inches of rain here in three days!! I lost everything I worked for in order to retire!! Just remodeled the house from the plaster on the pool to the shingles on the roof!! New furniture throughout the house gone!😢
Same here, @robertpaul6257. I'm a fellow Baytownian, born and raised. Hurricane Harvey is very identical to Beryl, the path, it's temperament and etc. We were told through the media that it wouldn't be that bad, but it was utterly catastrophic. I'm watching this very closely and getting prepared. @DocLarsen44, prayers for speedy recovery efforts for all that have already endured this juggernaut of a hurricane so early in the season and I'm fervently praying for the rest of us that are directly in this path!!! @Mitch West new sub here, thank you for your informative and understandable coverage, you're truly appreciated more than you could ever know!!! Blessings and Shalom to you, yours and all viewers!!! #prayingfortexasaswell#nomoreharveysneeded
@MitchWestWeather Indeed!!! This storm is making my anxiety go through the roof, Harvey had us absolutely obliterated in Houston and surrounding areas. Baytown is literally 20-25 minutes from Downtown Houston, depending on the horrendous traffic, lol. We were literally underwater from Katy (if I'm not mistaken) to Beaumont. Picture the Gulf of Mexico coming to all of your highways, and etc. Especially to your front door. Sinister picture, am I right? This is not the time to be complacent, because Beryl could easily become "Harvey Jr.", point-blank, period!!! Prayers going up, be prepared everyone in Beryl's path!!! Blessings and Shalom!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾
On Tuesday I checked the local weather forecast in Austin. I don’t watch it because it is notoriously downplaying every weather event. They said that Beryl is no real threat to Texas and it will go into Mexico. 😂
👍Excellent presentation, Mitch! Thanks for your commitment to all of us.👍 ✝GOD bless you, the family, and all the brothers and sisters everywhere in the name of ✝Yeshua Ha Mashiach/Jesus Christ✝
Thanks for the update, Mitch, I love the videos. I genuinely hope I'm wrong, but I have seen this too many times as a lineman. The ICON is the most likely path for me. Again, I hope I am wrong, but I see this as a significant issue for someone in Texas. We can not sleep in this storm. It seems people were banking on this, only being a TS on land fall. This is rare in the GoM, with the water being this warm. God bless you, Mitch.
Good morning Mitch and believers. You have a really difficult job with the uncertainty of weather and hurricanes. Just sneeze human. We're blessed here in San Diego with nice weather but we've been in danger before. Praying for all in threatened areas. On the run but God bless the Wests and everyone here.
Thanks for all the good work you do Mitch. I did my basic training in South Carolina back in the late 1990s, and I experienced that heat you're talking about.
Kentucky friends and family getting hit now Storm. We’ve gotten 3.39 inches of rain the last 3 days in SW Indiana. We were getting close to drought conditions. We had a lot of flash flooding issues, especially in Jasper.
With light shear to the west but then lessoning on the approach to the western gulf is concerning. Hafs a new model introduced in 2023 a numerical model to help better forcasting also a upgrade due this July. The article was last year if you search use( hafs hurricane model) weather model. Beryl another RI as we see more with the warming planet. Like you say Mitch favorable enviroment later on. A cat3 or higher is a distinct possibility. Im watching any pressure drop in mb L and trough to the north to pull it north. Also the further north with latitude generally your easterlies lessen and with the H moving east allowing a northward turn. Great coverage Mitch thankyou for explaining all the guidance👍 have a safe blessed day🌎🎛📡😺
here me out, Houston / Beaumont area......and i believe its going to have MORE TIME to become a lowgrade cat 2 maybe even a 3 before it makes landfall...
Oh NO!! For now! If Beryl intensifies to a major hurricane and moves towards my area, I may have to evacuate after all. Hopefully, that won't happen. But if it does, get ready!
Texas needs rain really badly but not a major hurricane. Hurricane Laura flattened Louisiana and remained a hurricane into the northern parishes so these things are scary and have mini tornadoes in them. My sister`s roof nearly peeled off in central Louisiana. We could see the sky through cracks in the living room. If it would have passed just 10 miles closer her home would be gone because there were near 100 mph gusts just southwest of us.
Mitch, I’m confused. You said the other day that if it was in the gap, it would be more dangerous. I see it’s hitting the tip of the Yucatán, but isn’t there enough of the hurricane in the gap to give it the ability to rapidly strengthen again?
Well, it's all about the center of the hurricane. What we call the low level circulation or LLC. If that is crossing over land, it's definitely going to weaken even if portions of the Hurricane is over water. The center is like the heart of the system, it needs that water to thrive. Now once this gets over the Gulf of Mexico, then it'll have the opportunity to begin to get stronger which is what I explained in the video.
Mitch I hope you can answer my question today. I was just curious why you use the HRRR model? I know it’s a short range model so is it the best for daily forecasts. I occasionally watch a few other youtubers and they all seem to show the Euro for long range. I don’t know if you can give a short explanation here or not.
Euro isn’t a short range model. HRRR, NAM & some others are. You use those to more so cover a 24-48 hour period. They probably use the Euro for more extended out weather which I do also.
I don't believe any of those forecasts. No one put Beryl at a 5 but there it was. Why is everyone so conservative on their forecasts? I like your take on it. Model guidance sucks for tropical events.
IM TELLING YOU its going to go in BY HOUSTON, I already know everyone is about to be SHOCKED, she is about to make a sharp turn and go North East, if im wrong then im wrong BUT my instinct says otherwise.. Ive warned my family to get ready and my friends, we all started prepairing...

Those in the Gulf Coast of Texas should monitor #Beryl very closely; the further north the track, the stronger the storm will get.
