NEW BOAT FLOOR! Half Cabin Boat Restoration

We fitted the new floor of my 1984 Swiftcraft Seagull MkIII half cabin boat. Its is the first time we have put a new floor in a boat! I bought this boat at auction 4 weeks ago and working on this boat restoration project with my Dad, its our first boat project together, so its a family boat!
In this video we finish putting in the new floor down by trimming the plywood floorboards and fitting them to the boat's stringers. We then sealed the gaps between the floorboards and then laid a layer of fiberglass down on top.
We used 12mm Marine Plywood for the boat floor, 450g fiberglass chop and a polyester resin.
Next on the jobslist will be to build the new lockers for under the cabin.
The boat is an old Swiftcraft Seagull MkIII, they were very popular in Australia back in their day as a fishing boat and a family boat for weekend boating adventures. It's a half cabin or cuddy cabin, making it the ideal trailer boat and the perfect cheap boat project!
When it is finished it shall be the prefect boat for fishing, exploring the local coastline and discovering new beaches.
