  • I am always astounded by the lengths car enthusiasts go to to create their perfect set of wheels. This stunning 1977 Toyota Celica is the sum of no less than eight individual cars, all bought and sold with the best parts being used to create one perfect example. Cars sourced all over Australia - some running - some not - but then on-sold to help fund the project. From those eight cars we are left with one very original looking and now highly collectable Celica. Sitting behind the wheel you feel you are in a time capsule - AM radio, vinyl seats, Aunger rear louvre. And by selling each of the "donor" cars along the way, this now rare Celica owes Daniel nothing - it has paid for itself (well, if you exclude all the time and effort in sourcing the cars, driving over the countryside to collect them, strip them of their best parts, and then rebuild this beauty). A labour of love - but when you are up close and personal you realise it was worth all the effort. I cannot wait for Daniel to get this car on the road and re-visit his beautiful "estate" - in the hopes I can do a "behind the wheel" interview as we take it for a spin.

I had a LT 2.0 ltr 5spd manual Liftback in dark green with tan interior bought it new in Dec 1976 and it was with me for 16 months before being smashed up, not with me driving.
They never sold any other model through the dealer network although there was a ST version & a GT Version some made it to Australia imported by Toyota but only for special clients not the general public.
Mine had about 80K on it when written off & it was fantastic reliable don't think I even had a flat tyre. It had been to every mainland state except WA often with 4 people onboard
I'm 70 now and I would love to own one again the body style was and still is the best Toyota built, they should do a new version but like the Mustang & Camaro of today continue with the retro styling but modern interior, motor with twin turbo's and tranny probably an 8 speed dual clutch auto, power windows & central locking

Hey bro. Great video. I have ta22 74 celica Lt model. How much are they worth you reckon? I am thinking about bringing back to its former glory. I am based in Australia. You reckon it's rare? And a good investment? Even if I just hold onto it and build it later
