So this is part 2 of my Kemper Profiling session. First video was me and Kent profiling a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. This video here shows how you after the profiling can tweak a profile to your liking.

The Kemper modeling amp heads sound great! I already knew that because some of my favorite bands/artists are using them nowadays. But its WAY out of my price range!!
It's nice to hear YOU take one for a test-drive! Personally I think the Revv head you just tested sounds just as good, but much more can be done with the Kemper. Love your channel ola! Cool that you have an office space now, and live life properly! 🤘 Metal Ola, movin up in the world! It's great! Continued success, my friend!!

kemper can profile the axe spot on, so every tone you can get out of the axe the KPA can do too, and it can do much more.

@mikeygheetarz Thing is, axe-fx comes loaded with amp models and such. This is a profiling amp, meaning you have to record your signal chain and save it into the device. From there you can tweak it with the options available.

  • @LostInNumbersMusic
    @LostInNumbersMusic 12 років тому

@megakid888 But if you do want to use the amp live, it provides a cab sim free output to your power amp, which of course removes the mic simulation.

  • @256guitarhero

@TheBramVC Don't know if Im too late, but itll definitely be better than the axe fx. You'll be able to get it to sound exactly the way you want provided you have all the necessary equipment! Or you could just download a profile and tweak it!

Saw it last year at NAMM and was digging it. Then saw it was $1800 after I got an AXEFXII and was even more annoyed that I paid $2300 for an AXEFX then I originally was. It is one hell of a genius little box that basically puts the technology a modeling company like Fractal or Line6 or anyone else uses right in your hands.

well, versatility in the sense that the axe has more and slightly better effects and the setups can be tweaked more. the kemper can profile any amp there is, so if we talk of versatility in an amp kind of way it's actually way more versatile.in terms of amp simulation, the kemper wins. it sounds IDENTICAL to the reference amp if the profiling was done right, and the axe can't do that. i'd say studio use --> kemper, live if you use lots of effects and complex rigs --> axe fx by a small bit

Great to know that it is this tweakable but does it actually replicate the way the original tonestack acts inside the amp? Too much bass flab by the way, always on but it was a rectifier after all...

the axe fx has tone matching now though. I mean its a little different as you can't actually profile the sound of your guitar through a real amp, but you can match your guitar tone to the tone of a guitar in an actual song.

  • @ftw1422

ok. so the question i have is, is there enough room to tweek to get the full potential of the "mesa copy" like you have with just the mesa? In other words does it adjust as much as the mesa does "tweeking" or is it limited to the settings used while recording it? anyone get what im trying to say?
    Thanks

So how do you feel about the kemper vs axe fx? different purposes, etc? I hear that the kemper is better in terms of realism, but the axe fx is more versatile. do you find this to be true?

    Hell, just profile Nevermore/Carcass

Or you can just borrow or rent the right amp you're looking for, book studio time to go profile it in really good situation, and then take your time at home to record your tracks with the KPA only...
Just spend studio time to setup and find your tone... that's it, and then profile it :)
