i want to know more about the structure of academies … do kids go to their own academic schools and then play for futball academy?? are academies like mini-universities ?
15:00 not good enough...the clubs should be forced to give the kids a trade apprentice along side there football When you know your going to get rid of 90% of your academy kids they should be doing alot more And if you can't afford to do that run smaller academics at least then more kids would make it out
I mean... how on Earth is it allowed to 'release' kids from academies at mid-season? What's the goal behind that kind of movements, from a club's pov? Just make room for a better prospect? Surely this signing can't wait until the next season? You're turning their lives upside down, crushing their hopes and forcing them to quickly look for an alternative elsewhere in the middle of their school course. Even if they are mentally strong enough to endure this rejection, that's gonna seriously affect them in other ways. Waving them off at the end of the season may be similarly devastating but at least they have some time and space to re-structure their lives a little bit better. Can't clubs really afford waiting 3-4 months before making that kind of decisions? Don't their current players deserve those extra months to keep pushing and proving themselves, also? They are just kids, ffs.
So parents encouraging deluded thoughts in their child, that he will make it and clubs would be stupid to say no, but football was to blame for the fact he was not good enough. For the hope of a childs life to be in football is a failing of parenthood, one does not want to end life while there is still hope
What a series this is, shows the side of football that is often overlooked. So much more needs to be done to support these young boys and girls.
Many are picked, Very FEW are chosen!
Lockdown a massive factor in that needless loss.
😔
