I share your feeling about these paradox g-shocks. They’re far too nice for what they’re made to do, which in a sense, makes them worse than their cheaper contemporaries. I realised this after I finally bought a MR-G several years ago. I thought that would be my final watch, in the sense that I wouldn’t want to wear anything else most of the time. But several months later I realised I barely wore it at all because it is far too nice. It probably doesn’t make sense from a profit’s perspective, but it’d be really great to the fans for Casio to focus on improving their regular g-shocks in cost effective ways rather than coming up with more high-end models…

I have had mine a few weeks now and after a software update on the app all the functions are working correctly now. I don’t like the metal strap keeper which doesn’t stay in place and now pick up a few scratches along with the buckle. Also I do not like having to unscrew and pulling the crown out to adjust functions not like my BBG100 which just uses the buttons . my favourite features are the map log and the wether alarm
I agree with you mate, I feel the same way about my GWG-B1000-1A4JF, well engineered and looks so beautiful. I like my GW-9500-1A4JF too, the negative display does not bother me much 😁 Thanks for the video, good content Merry Crhistmas ❤ 🌲

There was a much larger gap between the OG Mudmaster and the GWG-2000.
But to my understanding it's not a replacement they are going to be produced both

$800 seems a bit high. I'd place this in the $500. Although gshock pricing never makes sense to me, especially when some cheaper watches have better features.
Which cheaper G-Shocks have better features than this premium Mudmaster?
The only ones I can think of are the Rangeman/Mudman, but both are digital only and lack multiple resistances, except mud resistance.

How is the strap attachment on these, is it like the 2000 or like the 1000 ?

Crazy how Casio is inventing in the design department a lot but not in the actual usability and functional improvement of their watches. Back in the day that little digital screen was debatable for a lot of people as it offers poor visibility in certain conditions. Years passed and they still equip almost all of their ABC adventure watches with that display. I'm wondering if updating to a MIP display would be possible. Also, that backlight reminds me of the GA-110 series, definitely not fitting for this one.
I have no idea why they don't use STN display as default for all their negative display models. 🤷♂️

I will skip this one. My gwg 2000 is much better looking, in my opinion. I just don’t like this model at all 😅
