    Hi Jenny and Bob - Could you show us a video of your car being towed - thanks a lot. Diane and Rob

      I did a whole series of videos on A Frame Towing: ua-cam.com/play/PLUi3rqw12j2q2q4KYGAnvYgnTiWI0cdiL.html
      The only clip of it being towed (As we are normally towing it in the motorhome) is from the last video from Hermanfest ua-cam.com/video/Yfd0NOgmlGQ/v-deo.html

    You almost passed my front door (between Penrith & Keswick). I could have made you a cuppa! Enjoyed the video and looking forward to the rest of your travels.

    You clearly love Scotland and so do we. Got a 2 week tour coming up in June. Berwick, Edinburgh, Inverness, Glen Coe, Hoddom Castle. Can’t wait. Another great vid Bob. Cheers, Helen & Dave 😊

    Hi Bob and Jenny. I don’t suppose you remember the name of the street where the car park you used in Grange-over-Sands is located?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 років тому

      Sorry can't remember, think it's in one of our 2917 Grange Over Sands vids. Might be Kent's Bank.

      Jenny google mapped it, it's in Fernhill Road. There's a medical centre there.

    Bob, When you tow your car, does turning affect the cars front wheels? Does the steering mechanism get "disconnected" in some way?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 років тому

      I can see me doing another video to explain this bit. The short answer is the front wheels steer in the direction the car is being towed. The long answer - I put the key in the ignition and unlock the steering lock. Leave the key in, but ignition off so the steering wheel is unlocked and free to move. I lock the doors. As the car is being towed, the front wheels follow the direction the motorhome is going, because of the castor angle of the car's steering. That is the natural self centering tendency of the wheels to follow the direction the car is moving. Rather like a shopping trolley's wheels.
      "The purpose of castor angle is to provide a degree of self-centering for the steering - the wheel casters around so as to trail behind the axis of steering."

    Great to see you north of the border folks .. sorry about the weather ... as incommers ourselves we learnt to pronounce stuff the local way so if you want to impress .. killin is pronounced kil-Lynn and the best one if you end up near milngavie - it’s Mull-gai ... I know right! How the...!?!?

      Fifth Wheel keeps on turnin’ Thanks, I know. We have Scottish friends who are always correcting us. The best one was Banchory, which we mispronounced as Ban- chury and not Ban-kori.

    I noticed at a couple of junctions that are at an awkward angle to the road that you cannot see to the left. I am single and drive a 6m Majestic 135 motorhome and have come across this problem a couple of times, and having no-one in the passenger seat to tell me when clear to proceed makes it very difficult. Before now I have had to unbuckle my seat move sufficiently to see out of the passenger door window and quickly back to my seat and proceed, but I admit it does worry me (there is no habitation door window which might make it a little easier but would still be a little risky). I have noticed the background sound volume is creeping up and I am having to 'mute' again, sorry but I find it too loud and spoils it for me when I have to keep muting and unmuteing.

      Robert Crouch. Thanks for your comment. Yes it's a problem looking out on those junctions. At least I do have a habitation window to look through, but wouldn't have helped at the junction out of the site as it's at a very acute angle. Sorry about the sound. I was a little rushed yesterday to get it finished. Promise to try harder this next one!

    Hey Bob - I am up in Meathop Fell this weekend, and have spent lots of time there over the years - In Grange Over Sands, that building you were looking at on the prom, was actually what was left of the open air lido - It closed in the 80's and fell into disrepair - All you see today is the outer walls. There was talk of a redevelopment even in the 90's when I spent lots of time there on university field trips - but alas nothing ever came of it. Enjoy your travels, and stay safe on the road.

    I find that has the years roll on, the brain takes longer to catch up, I think we are all in the same boat. I think you do very well to keep the camera rolling, much easier to write a comment. I now seem to have a follower who likes all my comments ? Is that Jenny ?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 років тому

      Colin Humphries Jenny reads all the comments as do I, we just like people to know we've read them.
