This solo was played live at Howard Rumsey's Concerts By The Sea in Redondo Beach, CA in 1978. The best improv on Sunny IMO. You can find the original track here: • Video
WHAT YOU DID MY FRIEND IS EXCEPTIONAL...YOU PLAY THE WHOLE SOLO WITH WHICH WE GREW UP WITH...THIS SOLO IS AN ICON FOR EVERY JAZZ GUITARIST...THERE ARE NO WORDS...BRAVO...
Thank you, this is something that I did 8 years ago, I mainly enjoyed the challenge, working on this solo note by note, every day for more than a month, focusing on every phrase and playing it repetitively until I felt comfortable playing the whole solo smoothly.
This is exceptional... I actually transcribed the whole solo a week ago, took me a long time, but I can't even imagine how much time it would've cost to actually learn it as well! Amazing work, hats off
Totally! The dedication Ori had to accomplish this is off the charts. Ori knows the improvisational language now I would LOVE TO HEAR what Ori would do himself on the Sunny changes...even for only a two minute solo!
Thank you very much for your feedback, This was a challenge I took on myself a coupe of years ago and enjoy every minute of it:) It took me 2 months to nail it down and I practiced every day!
Bravissimo! Man that was some great jazz playing. Even if someone has the notation, it doesn't mean one can sound like a convincing jazz guitarist, but this absolutely sounds great. I'm jealous of your fluidity. I'm either going to go practice or turn my guitar into a new coffee table!
I found the solo transcription on the web which was pretty accurate (pdf version) I don't seem to find the file, I think I might deleted it by mistake, perhaps this version will work for you: www.scribd.com/doc/33154160/Pat-Martino-Transcriptions In addition I studied Pat's technic and theory with this DVD www.amazon.com/Pat-Martino-Creative-Force-Martino/dp/0739044265 Highly recommended !
Just so you know,Pat Martino was not only a great musician but a fantastic human being. I met him at the Detroit Jazz Festival. 2018 if i remember right. He was a profoundly spiritual and gentle human being. You recreated the solo of one of my favorite Jazz musician of all times. Congratulations!
@@calikali2420 Thank you this was 8 years ago when I studied some Jazz stuff by Pat Martino. I learned a lot about him, definitely a unique human being and an Amazing guitar player, what a loss. It was a very sad moment for me when he passed away.
@@OriReuven There are some other very good young guitar players out there. Check out Jonathan Kreisberg who did some FANTASTIC stuff with Dr. Lonnie Smith and Dan Wilson who has done some great work with Joey DeFrancesco. Who are your favorite (living) guitar players?
@@calikali2420 Hi nowadays I am more into funk and blues players such as Matt Schofiled, Roben Ford( More of a Jazz blues player) I like the bland of Jazz and blues and less traditional jazz players, but Pat Martino was unique with his approach where everything is minor, something that I try to incorporate to my playing.
Wow...amazing!!! Well played! I have to admit that at first, seeing this guy looking like a beginner with a $399 Ibanez AS-73 guitar, I didn't expect much. Boy was I wrong. Great job Ori!
c'est bien de jouer les transcriptions mais le jazz c'est aussi en grande partit de l'improvisation sur des accord mineurs diminuer il y déjà 50 TYPES qui refont la meme transcription de martino ,bravo
You're an ass! You seem to be misguided about Scofield and his talent. If he was good enough to record and tour with Miles and all the other heavyweights he's played with, then I'd say you have no room to criticize. Not to mention we don't even know if you can even play, let alone have the talent he has. If you just don't like that specific performance, then make that clear. Otherwise, you just look stupid.

Oh my God! 😲 that was stunning... I can't even imagine the work you put in to master that monster of a solo by the late great Pat Martino. Bravissimo!

Great playing. Can I get a transcription from you for Sunny?
Could you do a tutorial on the solo? Cheers
Does anyone have a Spotify or UA-cam link to the track? I’ve heard several versions in my time but can’t seem to find this exact one…

My improvis on "Belleville" by Django Reinhardt
aluf!!
thanks for not learning that awful scofield crap from that same live recording.
