Most glorious engine sound in aviation period, just love the TU154. Unfortunately the big russian airlines rarely use them for flights to the EU nowadays. Fantastic video ;)
Great clip, you can hear all of the cabin noise which is great - flaps, announcements, muzak! I've flown Tu154 4 times and they are an awesome aircraft - love watching the undercarriage cartwheel in and out of those canoes on the wing. And the flaps are massive.

That reminds me of the Tu-144... I'm just in love with that plane. I think the Russians just need to upgrade the equipment and little the cockpit design a little bit just to make it more familiar and to add all these latest safety technology and this plane will be even better than what Boeing or Airbus give us today. I mean just listen to that sound... I'm a big fan if engines since my childhood and there is nothing more exiting than a powerful engine speaking out at full throttle. when you fly on Boeing or Airbus, it seems these planes are made from cardboard - you can hear every move during take off and landing (i am not talking about engine sounds now). In this sense russian planes are less noisy.
The reason theese planes crash a bit more often than other is because they are operated in countries in africa etc. The airlines often use old aircraft and also don't maintain them very well.
