Nice, thanks, it rained and I lost the instructions. Mine was missing an anchor (set in tube) then I thought I was missing 5 unitl I saw your vid. Initially it looked like you were installing on a Mustang, you probably know that by now lol.
any reason you mounted the cross ribs upside down? you also mentioned using the S crews on the rib adjustment. it calls for U screw? otherwise helpful video. TY
So you get to the bit where it is easiest to knock the receiving fittings such they they fall 8th the gap between the roof and the lining, which means that you have to remove the lining to get it out… and you skip past it! Also, there was no mention of adding silicone to stop water ingress which almost inevitably happens after the passage of time if sealant is not used.
Hi jeff. I am installing a rack currently. Mine came with 16 rubber "flaps" for lack of a better word. In your video you mentioned you needed to remove and reassemble the cross bars to put in the "felts" i think you daid. I think these rubber flats are a different version of the felta you mentioned, but my instructions are also terrible. You dient ahow the install in the felta and i wondered if you could explain what you did there.
I bought the other version and the fitment is great. Get the one with squared cross bars, and the tubings are way bigger than this. it's about $275 compare to this $187 but it looks way better than this verion.
Great vid mate in process of building now. Part w I was going to screw from the top not bottom like you so I thought easy to access for adjustment. Any reason you did the other way? Also do you still like the rack? And if you rotate the feet slightly will they fit better on the roof? Thanks
Hi Phil, thanks for your comment. I actually made a mistake. It was suppose to be the other way. I do still like it, however the rack is poorly made. Lots of gaps on the plastic footings. Good luck!

Sorry Jeff fat fingers there. Just trying to understand the felts part you skipped through. Thanks for the vid.

Question from the those gaps the water can go inside the truck
exactly 💯
this is a common problem in fj's who didn't have OEM roof racks..
The white part the screws go into (white tubes) one set is missing on my fj cruiser. The bolt just falls in I don’t even know if it can be replaced.
Hello. Do you know how much weight we can put on this roof rack? How about roof tent? Or is it just for luggages etc?
Hello - what did you do with the parts that are next to the green pencil 36 seconds into your video. They look like little metal top hats.

BTW, your last question, I have tried to manipulate the footings, but to no success. Just really poorly measured/made.
What screws are given with roofrack?
Is it longer?
We’re the foam pieces sticky? Did you stick them to the rack pole or the adjacent pieces?
Hi Karissa, yes the foam was sticky. I cut it in half, because they were too large. I did stick the foam on the poles.
@@3speedcats530 thank you, I just installed my rack Sunday. This video was so helpful!
Hi Karissa, thanks for your kind comments! Congrats on your install! Take care!
At 1:13 of your video what are the rubber pieces for that are not labeled between S and R screws which are not labeled.
Hi james, those are the rubber washers for the bolts that mount the rack to the roof of the vehicle. Hope that makes sense.
Where can I purchase just the footpad
Where can I buy this roof rack?
Why the gaps on the footing?
Hello Sir, it's an aftermarket product....I believe it's made in China. Thank you for your comment.
BTW, the fitment is mediocre. There are warping on the plastic footings and some fasteners stripped easily.
Hi kasper, skip to 5:12. It goes on the middle section.
I apologize for not responding right away. I purchased this rack from Amazon. Hope that helped! Thanks!
Did you seal the holes?
Hi there, yes and the kit came with some rubber washers. Thanks for your comment!
I used Marine Silicone
thank you!
I bought one on eBay to replace my damaged rack..The instructions were so bad, that I tossed the sheet and improvised...
with all the flimsy plastic parts used in the assembly of the roof rack, i'm thinking toyota is lying about it's rack-rating.
