I just finished installing this rack on my 2013 FJ Cruiser. It was as simple as this video shows. Excellent product, everything lined up perfectly, the first time we placed it on the vehicle. It could not have been easier.
Great video mate thank you. Could you please tell me more about the Factory Nut Plate moving and having to fish it out? I got confused there as I can’t picture it. I’m about to pull my roof rack off and that terrified me (I have a leak somewhere in the mount) :(. Thank you
Good job. One comment and one question. You should use a table to assemble the rack. Your OSHA guy would go nuts if he saw that. Secondly, do you have black machine screws vs. metallic for the rack if not, what is the size are the screws?
Hi. Great video. I have 2 hella 500ff lights and 2 hella 700ff, total of 4 that I was going to use as a lightbar. Instead of a lightbar could I get one of those roof racks and leave the front straight and put the lights on them instead? Thanks in advance
You could definitely attach lighting to the front crossbar instead of using a lightbar with the lightbar cutout. It would leave the lighting more exposed and could potentially cause more wind noise, but it can be done.
Most of the racks I see on the market don't make contact with the front and rear of the roof like that. I know you're placing down protective 3M tape on the roof, but I can't help but wonder if driving with a loaded rack, or going of road, in time that might cause issues? Is the purpose of it interfacing the roof like that for airflow/noise purposes?
Great Vid. Question, I have a dual led row straight 52" light bar and a current bracket that is approximately 10-3/4" from center of the light bar screw to center of first roof mounting bolt. Can this be added to this roof rack or is there a bracket for a 52" light bar? I do see you have a 'light bar cut out but don't see an image or specs on this. Please advise, thanks!

That rack looks cool when it's inside and clean. Having leaves and tree seed hang off of it, not so much.

Good question. I'm curious to read the response.
I feel that over time, that 3M stuff will take a beating from the sun like much of the other plastics on the FJ and dry rot away.

Just got mine and it didn’t come with the sides to build it.
