I have a 97 xj with very, very slow leak at the top of my windshield. So slow that it just makes the end of the headliner wet but not drip. I'm afraid of what I'll find under the windshield flashing.
I understand, it is common place where rust starts. Pull the rubber and inspect it visual if it is not worst you can just prime and paint. Or else need to remove windshield and repair it.

After you use glue to bond rubber and metal, you will have a problem when you need to change the rubber next time!

Yes, it is same process if your vehicle has enough gap to pour the flowable silicon
