    Working in the supplement retail business dhea is a very popular supplement for men and women. You should do it under a doctors advice especially if you are on other meds. Even though its banned in sports and can make you more prone to certain cancers for individuals where cancer is an issue I still believe people should think about various hormones as the quality of life is better. As middle age approaches I believe dhea, test, pregnenolone etc can greatly help. Off course you should do it under a doctor who is trained in this as most docs are not. Quite a number of folks do it without a doctors guidance too. Women after menopause basically fall apart. Sounds harsh but really hormones are critical to them for optimum health. Diet, nutrient deficiences etc all play a part in good health. Most men over 50 should be on some hormone support whether natural or prescribed as quality of life matters. Doctors who specialize in both regular medicine and complementary medicine usually give their patients the better treatments. While I myself am more geared towards living and eating healthy I still believe most people need hormone support at some time and possible cycling on and off if necessary for quality of life. We are all dying a slow death due to insufficiency of hormones in some form or another.

    So, my free testosterone level is high according to LabCorp (5.6), progesterone is low-ish (0.6), DHEA is 200. I just hit menopause with an FSH OF 37+ and I’m on estradiol (the Dotti patch). I don’t have a uterus but I have my ovaries. My blood sugars are stable (80s-110(PC)), but my right ovary has a dull ache. AM fasting cortisol is 13 something. Honestly I’m not sure if I should be concerned with my free testosterone, but I did ask for an ultrasound of my ovaries just in case. One doc was thinking PCOS but I’ve never had that, and the ache is just in my right ovary (I don’t have an appendix so it’s not that and colonoscopy found nothing at all: no polyps or diverticula). I’m wondering if I should supplement DHEA 🤔 I guess I could try it and see how I feel

    I started to have low t at age 26.. I was at total 96 testosterone. Super low. Started on HRT. But Never checked my DHEA or DHEA-S Well that was even lower. I'm now at 52 total DHEA. I took 1 month off everything to see where my levels would go. SOO let me tell you I got my test level up to 1400 total and yet I still had ZERO drive. Teh way I look at it is simple. You can build a house without the base. DHEA is the base. Also lots of people do not talk about DHEA and DHEA-s which one can pass the blood brain barrier and the other can not. so both are important ot look at.

      Is there different supplements for DHEA and DHEA-S?

    • @JesseBlum
      @JesseBlum 2 роки тому +5

      @@ARES-CodM143 yes. So research and science and anyone please correct if wrong. I'm just sharing my many years of knowledge and frustration. Any dhea pill form can not reach the brain/cross blood membrane barrier, so that's where dhea-s Cream form comes in. It's very good to use both. A dose for pill and cream. Worth noting, dhea has a very short half life of 4-6 hrs. So taking it once a day is kind of pointless. I would take your dose 2-3 times a day but split it up. So if you find a 100 mg or if that's whatever you're taking. Just break that up into three smaller dosages. You will see a difference. Now listens people will say a lot of stuff about it well I heard this or that but until you try it like a lot of estrogen conversion. First of all you would have to be a person that is highly susceptible to estrogen anyways. But not only would you have to take a pretty extremely high amount one study I found was like 400 mg a day for 2 years or more for it to like change your actual blood levels of estrogen significantly. Which that's a lot right I mean most people take 50 to 100 a day. I find what works best for me personally is at least 250 mg pills. One always at night. And one in the morning. And I know this is probably common sense but I would add 10 g to 20 g of vitamin d a date I'm always low on vitamin d. And I have found that most people who have low DHEA also have extreme low vitamin d. And one really weird thing and I don't know the complete reason why. If you don't mind eating raw garlic then do that. Or if you can get garlic oil and pill form I think that throughout the day and I'm telling you it is absolutely amazing and what it does.

    Hi, I’m on trt 200mg a week and I administer every day. I started suffering from horrible anxiety only at night waking up several times during my sleep. At times I was self administering 25mg of pregnenolone and dhea sublingual 1st thing in the morning. I stopped thinking that was causing my anxiety. But it continued. Then I started taking the pregnenolone at night 25 mg every 2 to 3 day’s and the anxiety stopped. But my libido started suffering greatly. So I switched to dhea 25 mg sublingual every night and now I don’t suffer anxiety as much. Maybe waking up once occasionally. Will I need to supplement pregnenolone? I’m 50yrs old. Hopefully you got help. You are a high estrogen converter. Its obvious by the anxiety, low libido, and erectile dysfunction. No one should use testosterone, its actually a terrible hormone to replace, but if you must then use the daily cream. You will convert less estrogen that way. Also, you need to run low dose HCG, 250mcg, as well. Its incredibly irresponsible not to. If you need to use an AI then use exemestane and start at very low doses, for example 0.5mg every 3 days then get monthly bloodwork to adjust. If you use anastrozole instead.. may god help you.

      Depends on the patient's symptoms, but upper quartile for most patients. I don't use AI's to drop estrogen 99% of the time. Estrogen is protective for the heart, brain, and bones. Will use occasionally in morbid obese patients with clinical high estrogen and low T, but thats just a bridge as they work on fat loss

      They are all androgens and are therefore related.

    Hello Dr, Thanks for your video. In contrast, i have elevated DHEA-SO4 levels(624) and i am suffering from hair loss, oily scalp and other thyroidish problems for more than 10 years.. I'm 33 years old man. There are lots of info about for low DHEA-S but not high DHEA.. What do you recommend for my case? Thanks in advance..

      The problem I believe is the artificial versions... There's a lot of confusion regarding natural and artificial versions and their effects.

      It can yes. There are hormone shifts that can occur with autoimmune conditions, and a decrease in dhea is one of those. If you haven't yet, I'd work with a functional, integrative, or naturopathic doctor for assistance.

      @@DrewTimmermansND unfortunately he was diagnosed before we were able to get him medical coverage. Seeing all the specialists is extremely difficult. He works between 80 and 110 hours a week and we still cannot afford what they want to charge us for coverage ( just for him) that's why I'm researching to see if maybe I can find something that may help him. His biologics shits are 8k each ( last I checked) and he has to take 2 a month. It's a good thing we found a company willing to help pay for it.
