Talk to your doctor about spironolactone! I can't take hormonal birth control bc of a clotting disorder, but spironolactone was safe for me and totally eliminated my acne.

It’s not the only treatment but that doesn’t mean nobody should take it. I have pcos and high androgen levels and both ob/gyn and dermatologist agreed on me taking birth control for my acne. And it worked. Now I’m on androgen blockers to maintain a low testosterone level. Please don’t give out misinformation without proof or explanation and evidence.
Hubby and I are trying to conceive (ttc) so I stopped taking the pills 3 years ago. Unfortunately, that's when all h*ll broke loose on my face and tons of acne appeared on my cheeks, leaving scars after the acne goes away. I've seen some dermatologists but, because I'm ttc, they said they can't recommend much so that was disappointing as well. Wearing a mask during COVID didn't help either. Still trying to conceive so not sure what else I can do. 😥 I figured, I'll give it another 2 years or so and, if family planning fails by then, I'll opt for laser treatments or something 😞
I hate when the bc pill is their only solution. Unfortunately topical spiro hasnt helped and my acne has gotten worse and painful all over my chin and lower cheeks. I have thrown thousands of dollars down the drain trying to cure it. Its embarrassing to leave the house
