Great job Mike, I LOVE the old troopers. After my dad accidentally dropped a tree on the family pinto in ‘91, we bought a new Trooper II and it was the family trickster for the next quarter million miles. Wheels and tires really make that thing pop! 😍
Being the way I am as a technician, I would have just used my hammer and got all the studs out. Then used an axle nut and lug nut with my 1/2 impact at a lower setting. But your way probably works way better.
I didn't want to damage the ones I took out. It turns out I only needed to purchase new ones for the rear. The stock rear studs were longer than the front ones, so I installed new rear ones and moved the stock rear ones up front!!
@@EbonyOak11 you'd have to drill out the hole size to match the new stud. You'd have to verify that there is room for that, I don't remember off hand if there is.
First I have royally screwed up many, many times! Second using that ball joint press is genius! I would of just hammered away!

Thanks! I'm still kicking.. Someday I'll get back to regular UA-cam content.... For now, I'll upload when I can.
WOW a new video
Where did you find the longer studs and how do you read them
@@Pcoso there is a link in the description for the studs.
Little tip for you if you ever do it agine. Instead of using the press just hit them with hammer and they will rite out
Pressed out because why damage the threads if there not that stubborn
Hope would I go about finding the right size? I just know the thread and knurl size that I found online
@@EbonyOak11 measure the length of your studs and add the amount needed to get enough threads to safely hold the lug nuts.
@@motomule would you happen to know if I’d be able to go up in knurl size? If I can’t find an matching one
