This is a Porsche 911 restoration that was abandoned in 1994 after being converted to a race car. My plan is a twin turbo Subaru EZ30 porsche engine swap with 400+ HP to the wheels. Stay tuned.

A project lasting this long can often cause loss of interest. Good job on keeping focus and seeing your vision come to life!
Well, I'm developing a kit for people to buy and install in their car. Failure is not an option!
Lol, I have a 12 year project still going.
Congratulations mate. Fantastic to see it all come together, and good to see the Ghost back on the road.
Wow. Been with you from the start and could totally appreciate the look in your eyes when you realized it works. Congrats, so excited to see you dial her in!
Yes you have! Thanks Tom!
came here from a forum post can't thank you enough for you contributions to this society!
Beyond satisfying to see it rolling under its own power, and sound amazing. What a journey it's been. This channel has easily been one of my top 5 for a few years and is up there with Vice Grip and Mighty Car Mods.
Thanks man I really appreciate it. Are you an animator?
@ Not really. But I know some who may. You looking for something in particular?
@skolenimation no I was just reading your username
@@rennch. Ah. It's because I tied it to my website (I am a designer/photographer/3d modeler). I just never really made many videos for it. Tho I keep wanting to make a couple on my car since it's largely forgotten and I'm an original owner so I have a good history on it.
I've got a few friends who have put the EZ30 in their 914s and they run strong! My 914 has the EG33 and it's a beast...congrats on your success!
Top work Michael! Sounds great and looks like it will absolutely shift on the road. Been watching your videos for years, chuffed to see you making this huge step! Hats off to you for all the graft you've put in. Looking forward to seeing these in customer cars! High ✋🏽 from the UK.
Congrats Michael, I could sense how frustrated you were getting with that which (wickedly) was making me chuckle as I know how you feel when you can’t work something out!! Alls well that ends well, sounds great and a great video. Been watching from the start and posted a few times from over here in the UK. Great start to the new year!!
I know that feeling of a first run after years of building... Recently got my freshly built LS swapped 911 out, what a feeling! Congrats mate, huge step!!
Been watching your Insta, George, and pleased you’ve got yours running. Just about to start my ITB/EFI conversion so the fun you’ve had might help me.
@@dsmith2182 thamk you :) don`t hesitate to ask me whatever, if I can help - I`ll help mate!
Man it's so rad to see this thing on the road, to have been a part of the journey and watching you overcome each challenge (and even being able to help out!!!) Looks good, sounds good and obviously rips. Inventing radness from scratch takes time effort and energy... you're all in on it!!!
Congrats, MIchael! I think I have literally watched every video of the 150 and it's great to see you finally getting a reward for all the hard work. Do film the love you're putting into the Grey Ghost. I think the brake lights need work too ;) looking forward to your next video already. Keep it up and let's GO!
Yeah, I need a new right side housing because that one won't ground correctly anymore.
And thank you for being so loyal!
Congrats sir - what a great win after 3 years of a build. Cant wait to put a K24 in a 911 SC
I mean...or a Subaru...
Been following for a long while, your persistence and determination to finish your cars is really admirable, so many people’s projects wear them down your enthusiasm is inspiring. You just gotta getting that tig welding sorted
I know, right? TIG welding is a tough one!
Having worked on my 914 for the past 5 years, this video gives me hope
You've got this!!
ha! I’ve got a 914 in the garage. started on a subaru swap but wanted to take care of a little rust first. Two years later i’m still working on the rust.
Same for me… 914 with a lot of work in progress…
There's an online community with a few 914s with Subie swaps and lots of knowledge. 914World is the ticket! Good luck!
What a milestone for you - so good to see it run and being ripped down the block. SO looking forward to the future. 🙂
Congrats Michael! Love to see this thing finally up and running. Nice to see the old hood too! Nice work man!
Happy to be of help! Looking forward to what we have store in the future for the platform!
You have been a huge help. I couldn't have done it without you! Let's keep rocking it!
Teamwork is how we make the dream work!!! Great job on the map work!!!
Can't wait to see Turbo version
That was a great success video. I really like how it sounds, it actually sounds like a throaty 911.
I agree!!
OMG, that ground issue was wild. It looked so much like it was load related, it could have taken hours to diagnose if it wasn't for you putting one and one together! Crazy!
Best thing I can say is congratulations on success with the mission you've been on for so long. The car sounds great and will see where it goes from this point in the build.
That’s so weird, I had a 5v issue with my Subaru engine too, would run but not rev. Turned out to be a barometric sensor installed 180 degrees out and as a result pulled the voltage down on the TCM. Spent hours getting to the bottom of it. Well done man, perseverance pays off. 👊
Damn I wish I was here for the beginning, I'll go back and watch those, awesome project, and well done keeping it moving, self motivation is no joke.
So Awesome! So much dedication. Makes me nuts doing things twice or three times but you stay sane just redoing stuff until its right. Can't wait for the finished product.
Such an awesome milestone to see this all working and running!
Can't wait to get mine and yours together very soon!
Been with you a few years now love your tenacity and determination thanks for the uploads keep them coming!
Hell yeah. On the road!
Congratulations Michael, the years of dedication and hard work are finally paying off!
Outstanding ! Stoked for you mate 🥂🔥😃
It's great to finally see the car on the road after all the effort you put into it. A great, fascinating project.
It's great to see all the fruits of your labor finally come together.
Congratulations 👏! The engine sounds so good! 🔥🔥🔥🔥I can’t wait to see some full pulls!
Enjoyable episode mate, congrats with your results
Thanks Chris! Hopefully back to the BB soon...
SO EXCITED!!! SOUNDS AMAZING! Well done man!!!
I know, right? I'm stoked too!
Well done mate. I am currently building a salt racer with one of these in it. You are an inspiration. Also one of the cleanest Subaru engine builds I've seen.
Massive congratulations. Sounds amazing.
YESSS! Finally! So stoked for you.
Excellent!
Been waiting for this!
Congrats Mike... really love that colour
Watching from day one, and building my own 911 alongside has been cool. This EZ30 swap is really a smart engine for the car.
Hell ya 👏👏👏 awesome work!! The ez motor definitely isn’t a easy swap im swapping a supercharged ez30 ghia, building it has been a struggle. It looks like you are doing perfect on sorting out all your problems 👍👍
Wow. Three years of work. Congratulations. You really did it. That engine sounds so good! Well done!
Congrats!!! That’s exactly what I want to do on my 914!!
I've got you when you are ready!
Dude that’s awesome. Hopefully the fires don’t affect you.
Well done! Excellent problem solving. Very happy for you! 😀👍👍
You just discovered an amazing anti theft deterrent for vintage Porsches with the parking brake!
Will that be part of the EZ30R package? :)
Wow it really sounds like a Porsche flat 6.
I do have to say I've been watching out for old 912's to do this.
Of course even 912's go for some coin now. Not like 10 years ago.
Yes!!!! The ground on the e brake wild!!! So good on you Mike. Way to persevere!!
Yea it's the newest in anti-theft technology.
54:03 that engine startup sounds SICC
Congrats! I have been waiting for a few years to see this video! I would be interested to compare it to your old 3.6 engine. I also really want to see how the turbo option works. Keep going!
brilliant episode!
engine sounds sweet! nice garage set up too.
Congratulations on success!
Great improvements. Keep up and HNY from Spain!
Wow, that thing sounds amazing. Job well done.
Congratulations for sticking to it. I would have cursed and walked in the house😎
So happy for you! Its been a great journey and I don't think you could ask for a better way to start the year! Sounds bitchin! Keep up the great work.
CONGRATS first drive!
What an accomplishment! My hats off to you!
So, stoked for you man!
Great job and it sounds good too!
Dude really appreciate seeing the whole thing thru even the fault finding. Great build look forward to the updates,
Thanks, man! Glad you enjoyed the journey.
Excellent work - from your fans at Analog.
what did you do about the E-brake short to engine
Great to see it go. Well done
Looks and sounds awesome! Well done :)
Happy new year. Michael from Germany (993 cab)
Happy New Year Michael.
Glad to see you back at it.
All the best for 2025
Regards from Down under where it is in the mid to high 80's one day then 90's and in above 100 F the next day.
✋ High five! Thats awesome...sounds amazing.
Congrats!!
Congrats on the project...is runnable. How much patience can one have, you seem to have a lot of it. Was it the ground on the e-break that was the problem?
That's one hell of a Theft Deterrent. don't change it lol 😂- its always the strangest little things ey
Someone else said the same thing, lol
Saving this video for my hour long cardio session. Excited to see it on the ground running!! Errr....rolling!!! Whatever
Hope you like it!
Congratulations
fun video and great way to Start Off 2025
Well done bro, incredible. Love your humour too, cracks me up 😆
Thanks man! :)
Hootie and the blowfish called. They want 5 volts in the middle 😅
Congrats Michael!
Thanks Terry! Is that you with that giant beard in your photo????
@@rennch.just an AI generated beard 😂
Great Police Guy!
congrats !
Really great episode- I totally feel you and the frustration- we have several cars in our shop right now doing just really weird shit that we've never encountered before (all air cooled Porsche's) that I'm beginning to think are 50/60 year problems just finally rising up! Grounds are super critical- did you get that ground moved to somewhere secure and stable so you don't have to have the e-brake on to drive it?
lol, yes. Was the first task today!
Good fun…great skillset…relatable…
did you fix E-brake situation shorting out engine ECU
I'm gonna call that a Police Escort!!!! Good show Long Beach PD!
Well done man. Regards from Ireland.
My peeps are County Tyrone!
Listen....There is NOTHING like having a wide band A/F ratio meter in your glove box for sorting out your issues! I did this on my '85 Porsche 928S2 5 speed and it was immeasurably helpful in making the car run right! With one of these you can instantly see what your A/F ratio is and now you know exactly where to look for the culprit for something wrong.
What are your coveralls??? they kewl

Congratulations.
Thank you! It was a long road to get here.
I planto use a vw/ skoda/ seat thtrottle pedal as it is floor mountedclikr the original 911
Can you send me a link?
There is also another floor mounted DBW throttle pedal solution that might work here as well, I'll send you some infos. I still think my pedal solution would work great for you and your wilwoods, @rennch.
@ definitely using it for the blasphemy build but not for this one.
@@rennch. this is the description of what what i bought from ebay VW Passat, EOS, Golf, Jetta, Scirocco 2005-2009 Accelerator Pedal 1K2721503L, hope that helps
Wouldn't it be convenient to fabricate some kind of ducting tube from the engine bay to somewhere near the dash? That way you could pull wires even with the interior completelely installed. No tucking wires under the carpet or running them where they could be exposed to the weather. There is no reason the duct couldn't be placed on the underside of the car.
Are you on Bluesky yet? I posted this video over there because it needs more love. Your content is crazy good.
I am, but I think I have an account for my podcast. I should make an account for rennch. Thank you for the kind words!
I am now! rennchme.bsky.social
@@rennch. Followed
Finally!!!
Nice cop
Did it blow up yet? -it will. All Subi's do.
Love it!!! Sounds very P-car!
Remember, it takes less than an hour to swap out a engine if you just use a Porsche engine. 😂🎉
I wonder how much three years of labor cost versus just buying the rebuild parts or a complete engine?
I was FEELING your pain just then.
Killing me....
It was awesome. Great vid end.
Thanks man!
The cop HELPED! 🤯 We need more good guys like him out there. I would have probably got harassed about the missing plate, reg, lights, insurance, etc. if it was me in front of my house. 😂 I want to personally thank guy for his service and being a down to earth good dude.
Nice cop.
