- It’s time for the wilberry e36 driftcar to get a new engine transplant. So exited to finally swap a 2JZ into my car. Couldn’t thank enough all of the support I am getting from amazing companies like Mishimoto and Drifthq allowing me to make this swap possible!

Awesome! Keep it up! Me and my friend are also building an E36 coupe and the plan is also to go with the 2JZ and the 5speed ZF Gearbox out of an 530d E39. Currently the car is stripped down and getting ready for paint. Gold enginebay/cage and green outside. I recon we’ll go for alot of the same solutions you’re installing😁 i love this

go get you a laserpointer and check if the engine lines up to the Diff perfect. so you got way less problems with the drivetrain afterwards.

Grab yourself a engine leveller for your engine crane so U can tilt on entry to engine bay....
U could take a inch off the back cylinder of that manifold and not effect flow ..cut and shut you can do it.....!!.

nice to see that PMC optimized their shit... i had many problems with the kit because there wasnt a extendpiece for the crankshaftcentric part back then. flywheelbolts without washers too. nice too see you dont got to deal with those problems.

You can use E46 slave cylinder for clutch as its got input at the back with much better angle for line.

Nice work all the way from South Africa you guys are lucky to have all the support for these engine swaps in terms or adapter plates etc. We just use stock bmw fly and clutch as 1jz 2jz and bmw Flywheel bolt patterns are the same and cut zf and weld jz bell hsg together and change ring gear...... Alot of work but keep up the good work can't wait to you next video... Much love

Look in to a Golf MK1 booster if you still want to run one.

If you are going to run coil on plug you need a GTE oil pump and crank trigger wheel cuz GE uses distributor, also need to find a way to install cam sensor ! If u are going to run v-band turbo housing invest a bit more money on a proper manifold!

looks like there's a lot of room in front of the engine. If the mounts allow it maybe slide it forward like an inch or so .. should help with oil pan clearance as well. Unless you're running the thickest radiator on earth :)
I believe fhe oil pan is behind the vross member as it is a rear sub i believe correct me if an wrong if he move it forward he would have less clearance for the oil pan
@@simon199731 yes, you're right. didn't watch it properly first time. now it makes more sense why the trans mount is pushed back as max as it goes.

do you plan on changing out the rods in that motor ? i know the na vvti rods are very weak.
Quick peak it kinda looked like you could move the motor back on the engine mount, maybe that could avoid modding the oil pan

I've got the exact same adapter kit from PMC, great stuff. But remember that the flywheel doesn't have the starter gear
He showed mounting the extra required auto flex plate to provide the ring starter
gear.
@@LittleWapiti I know. But it's important to remember that not all engines have flex plates and they make these flywheels for many different engines. Some engines require custom made stuff even when using these kits.

its probably originally for a rhd car. so youd have to swap it over for a lhd car

@@jimxiong04 did you even read his comment? passenger side and driver side are relative to where the car is from, if it's not a kit made in the US, it could be for rhd applications.
