  • After months in the making the 2JZ is finally ALIVE!!!! :)
    This has been the most anticipated moment for this whole year.
    Extremely happy to hear this engine work and even got to drive it around the parking lot without any issues first try!

    Nice build Alberto !! Quick question for you. This looks like a GE build, and I am hoping to follow the same path. How do you like the ebay intake manifold ? Are you having any issues with using a turbo head gasket with the NA head as the coolant port layout is a bit different? What exhaust manifold are you using? These are all some of my small concerns with building a NA motor .

    I'm planning a G35-900 setup for the road with around 600hp. (Vvti)
    Do you think a smaller exhaust housing with 0.83AR would also work without losing too much torque on top?

    Curious how loud your BC272 VVTi cams are in the valve train once warmed up. I think they are kinda loud even with proper valve lash. My car is quite a bit louder than it was on stock cams/springs.

      Actually i can hear the same noise mine makes warmed up around the 8:00 mark.

      They make a bit of noise after its at operating temperature but its normal with the setup. Don’t want to make the valvetrain too tight and have a valve not shut all the way once things heat up

      @@ALBERTOBIGBOOST I felt that exact same way. Mine are at the BC cam card or .001" more loose and I have that same loud noise. There is no way I would want to tighten it up, especially doing Road Course like I do or Drift like you do to quiet it down. Maybe drag guys can get away with that but thats a risk I am not willing to take. I am kinda glad yours sounded the same, i was a little worried about mine and do miss that OEM quiet valvetrain!

    Is this a GTE vvt-i head or the stock GE vvt-i one? If it's GE what turbo manifold did you end up going with?

      Its a full Ge-vvti from a gs300. I forgot what brand it is but it’s one of those generic ones. Then modified it for v band inlet and 44mm wastegate

    How did you get the VVTI gear to not rattle ? I have similar cams and the vvti gear rattles very loud. Did you maybe advance the vvti gear some ? Any help is much appreciated.
