The German Leopard 2 main battle tank is one of the most popular tanks in the world, but there's a special variant in War Thunder that trades its armor for an autoloader. The PT-16/T14 is a rare event Leo with exceptional mobility and a reload rate on par with the Type 90.

Yeah the AMBT is literally a Turkish firm slapping a 25mm Grenade launcher on top of the turret and pretending like the SLEP was their project.
Can you go into more detail, I actually want to know the truth behind the whole thing.
@@ogkegster22 The specifications and upgrade package and every detail of the Raytheon M60A3 SLEP was sent to Turkey as they were one of the main customers interested in M60 upgrades, seeing their interest in the Sabra program.
Somehow(A Turkish military official sent it…lol), a Turkish military contractor got the specifications and specific upgrades done by the M60A3 SLEP and they tried to copy it as much as possible with existing parts and packages that were on the market. They then tried to advertise it to the Turkish government as their own home grown work to win the contract, but they ultimately failed as it was pretty blatant. They didn’t want to risk pissing off a behemoth like Raytheon either, seeing as they already used them on a couple other important contracts.
The 25mm was present on the original SLEP, and StandartBio never claimed the project was theirs, they were an official partner with L3 Harris alongside Textron. One of the powerpoint presentations they made had a subtitle of "the affordable main battle tank" which it appears Gaijin got the name from, but every StandartBio description of the product clearly denotes it as an L3 Harris product, L3 Harris now a part of Raytheon.
Spreading misinformation again aren't we. It's not as if any major country receives aid from the US or Russia with their tank development.

that's because of the fact that, when Gaijin made this tank and it's model, they opted to make the crew resemble German Mains as closely as possible.

The autoloader is pretty much half the MBT-70 autoloader. The round at the right-bottom of the chain is aligned with the breech, and can be rammed in, the next round is rotated in that position. The drawing shows that on the left 2 images, while the right two images are for half-autoloading reloading, where the human loader places a round vertical on the autoloader arm that is lowered into the fighting compartment, after which the autoloader moves it into position and rams it. Kinda like the second half of the process of the Abrams Meggitt autoloader.

The document discribes two modes for loading one is automatisches laden(Automatic loading) ((left)) and Halbautomatisches laden (half Automatic loading) ((right))
On the left the blue Thing in the middle ist a canister where the Shell will Just Go through If it is in Automatic mode, while on the right Side the human loader will Put the Shell in the blue canister and lets the Autoloader do the Rest (the halfautomatic mode was probably planned to BE used If the Tank Ran Out of shells in its Auto loader so that you can still fire).

The autoloader document is quite interesting.
The Left column shows automatic loading straight from the magazine into the breach.
The right column shows assisted loading, where the loader places a round onto the mechanism.
It then gets lifted, rotated and rammed into the breach.
best guess would be that the left side is with the "ready rack" full and the right side is how it works if the automatic magazine is empty

From what I can tell, as a german, the picture at 12:50 basically says:

12:51 I am not German I am Dutch but I can understand it. At the top is basically says: Autoloader for KPz Leopard 2, build into the Turm PT 14 model. And than the right two images are for ‘Full auto loading (from the magazine)’ And then the left two ‘Half autoloading (ment for helping load, only with backup power supply). The images appear to be some bridge from the stowage to the breach which Gayjin hasn’t modeled in.

7:45 While, yes, the AMBT is not real, the vehicle we have in game is technically not the SLEP, but the L3 Destroyer built by L3 Communications in *cooperation* with Raytheon. After the L3 didn't do too well, Raytheon took it off their hands and marketed it as the SLEP. It should also be noted that only the L3 featured the 25mm. Raytheon would remove it and never marketed it as part of the SLEP package, thus making them technically two different vehicles. If we ever get the SLEP in-game, it should be without the 25mm.
It should also be noted that the SLEP existed in the files in this configuration at one point so I'm very certain Gaijin is aware of the differences between the L3 and SLEP.

I purchased this tank by accident and honestly I have NOT regretted it at all.
One day I was intrigued at this tank so I decided to test drive it. I wanted to check out the conversion rate of the tank at the checkout area in Paypal but I forgot my details were saved so it automatically purchased upon clicking “next”.
65% winrate currently, been owning it for half a year. Gotten me over 7 nukes. Best performing tank. That 4 seconds reload plus mobility is a game changer.

Try it out mate. The 2 main cons of this tank are the very limited loaded rounds (9) and glass armour (occasionally I somehow manage to withstand hits)

Speaking of autoloaders, ST-A3 has an auto-loaded 90mm gun with M82 and HEATFS at 6.7 (and a range finder)

I mean if gaijin wants they can add the m1 Abram with a 120mm meggitt autoloader to make it have 5 second reload. So if the engine is on fire it still load the round in.

so the sketch says "Autoloader for KPz Leo 2 (experimental) isntalled in turret PT 14mod, the left side shows a full automatic loader and the right a semi automatic (like when the ammo rack is depleted). on the drawings they just are naming the components. with the yellow part on the left being the breach, labled as weapon, the one on the right is the magazin. the red part is the "feeding arm", that blue part it's holding is called "transport cage" and the small blue one behind the magazin is more or less a "shover". And yes as i would understand it it should align and a round is basically just shoved through. the semi automatic part seems like you put a round into the transport cage and then it aligns and will be shoved through.

I've recently been playing low tier Japan, specifically the Chi-Nu and Na-To and highly recommend
on the schematic it displays two types of using the mechanism. The left one is fully automatic and the right one is semi auto, it says you can use the "injector/ conveyer as loading assistance" on the right. I assume it allows for manual placement once the "ready rack" is empty but a loader could still feed the canon. I'd need the originals in full resolution to read the rest :D
