spookston videos remind me of that simpson scene where homer tries building a grill, cause every time I watch one of these it makes me wanna play WT, I launch it, and instantly am hit by the reminder that 90% of my shots don't pen while most enemies seem to OS me, and I wonder what I'm doing wrong
Spookston was absolutely Flabbergasted, Astonished, Surprised, dumbfounded, amazed, stricken with grief, shocked, taken aback, and stunned when he couldn't pen the Leopard 2's in their weakspots.
According to AW (who actually do quite a bit of research on their vehicles) it should have the 1790-series engine which produced 750HP, not the abysmal 660~hp of the one in WT. The production versions were to be fit with the 1200hp version, but the tank never went into production. Even if WT is modeling based on the prototype and not the tentative production version, it should *still* have about 100ish more HP than it does.
As far as I know there was no true "production variant" of this tank. It was an export kit comprised mainly of a turret and turret ring adapter. Hulls would vary by the nations providing them.
I don't mean it to be the special dude: I love how the tank looks :D Possibly because I love when a tank has a similar length/size in both turret and hull. Like it is a good looking size ratio when looking at them from the side. Like Maus, Tiger II, Leopard 2A7, T-55... They look very aesthetically good when seen from the side, as the turret and hull are very close in length.
It was never built with the 1200hp power pack. The whole concept of the vehicle itself was to marry the M1A1 turret to the M60A3 hull. The engine, therefore, was the Continental AVDS-1790-2C; 12 cylinder, 4 cycle, 90° vee, supercharged diesel, making 750 hp. It was a proposal that after the vehicle would be purchased, that the purchasing country could outfit the tank with the Abrams/ Merkava power pack. As for the thermals, export authorized countries were to get 2nd gen thermals while non export could swap out to their own thermals. Reply for sources if you’re curious, but TL;DR: They did a good job with putting the 120S in game. They just need to address the M829A1 penetration issues but pre and post pen.
People couldnt even properly fit inside the object 775 and its missiles couldnt hit the broad side of a barn irl, yet its a functioning tank in wt, its always the russian tanks that get the ''it was imagined it would do this and it does'' and american ones get the ''not all of them had it therefore none of them had it'' treatment

Updated plans are now in motion to mount the Ariete turret atop the Celere Sahariano instead. In light of this information you should play the Celere Sahariano

3:55 at least in german, it exists. "Einem geschenkten Gaul schaut man nicht ins maul" literally: "You dont look in a gift horses maw" so its basically the same
Same in italian!
3:54 That is also a saying in Dutch (my language). The more you know.
Also in Russian. Дареному коню в зубы не смотрят.
Same in portuguese
Same goes for german
Yup, Spanish too
And as a native speaker of Slovak, In Slovakia it has the same meaning.
spookston videos remind me of that simpson scene where homer tries building a grill, cause every time I watch one of these it makes me wanna play WT, I launch it, and instantly am hit by the reminder that 90% of my shots don't pen while most enemies seem to OS me, and I wonder what I'm doing wrong
The intro meme is painfully real
I really liked the cut aways to x-ray and armour analysis, added both info and humour.
No CAS deaths in the whole video? How strange
2:01 Ya just had to jinx it.
in espanish we got the same saying and it goes like this " a caballo regalado no se le mira dientes" "you don't look at a gift horse's teeth"
Not looking a gift Horse in the mouth is actually a saying in german as well :D "Einem geschenkten Gaul schaut man nicht ins Maul" 3:55
At 7:10 that was the sabot petal that bounced, you just hit his upper front plate.
Its bad enough it doesn't even have the up armored hull but it also has the stock engine with no era/composite.. this is the definition of sadness
That's on-brand for this tank. It was meant for poorer countries to plop onto their existing hulls. Naturally the hulls get used as-is.
Thus thing avsolutely needs the upgraded powerpack, its added as a way to compensate for the 292 and then makes it worse in everyway.
Hey, Spook. I would really enjoy to see you play the Swedish Strv m/39. It has an amazing APDS round at 1.0. Love your videos. :)
Even if WT is modeling based on the prototype and not the tentative production version, it should *still* have about 100ish more HP than it does.
it does have 750 HP, it comes 663 HP when its stock, spookston just misleading his audience yet again
The production variant was shown to the public in October 2001
So sorry,your info is wrong
As far as I know there was no true "production variant" of this tank. It was an export kit comprised mainly of a turret and turret ring adapter. Hulls would vary by the nations providing them.
I don't mean it to be the special dude: I love how the tank looks :D
Possibly because I love when a tank has a similar length/size in both turret and hull. Like it is a good looking size ratio when looking at them from the side.
Like Maus, Tiger II, Leopard 2A7, T-55... They look very aesthetically good when seen from the side, as the turret and hull are very close in length.
1:30
Did anyone else hear that fire alarm beep? Lmao
its edited in btw
Day 1 of asking Spookston to play his favorite lineups to help ease the suffering of some of these requests
@ozan1234561 dude actually
Didn't they try to get Taiwan to buy the?
Ah yes,the tank that was built by GDLS to fight an Israelian-built M60 with 1200hp doesn't have 1200hp.
It's like knowing very well that you need to bring soccer shoes to a soccer match and then refuse to bring them on purpose believing that the enemy team might be bad.
You man, surely are one of those i encounter on the forums bragging about their desire to nerf USA into the oblivion
@@ozan1234561 what, you wanna add chances of tracks and tranmissions breaking into war thunder as well because of that? the 120S never did have the upgraded 1200 engine, period. So don't throw around "russian bias russian bias" just for sake of argument
This is like the modern equivelant of the m4\t26
There is simply no reason for this to be 10.0, it's outclassed in literally every regard.
Are you high?
>amerifarts get M829A1 with a 5 second reload and gen2 thermals at 10.0 and STILL cry
On brazil we have the same thing, "cavalo dado não se olha os dentes",about horses
Day 23 of asking spookston to play the chi ha short gun
Hey I play with you sometimes
@@The_Grunge yes
I saw the thumbnail for this video and thought, "That's a funny looking Abrams." I don't play this game but you're the only one I watch with any frequency for War Thunder.
Day 5 of asking spookston for boyfriend voice reveal (this is based off the 250k Q&A btw)
3:25 Preeeetty sure that was on you Spookston. You shot through the roadwheel from the side. That was
too far to the front from that angle. Also really low, which is how you got the trsck on the other side.
8:22 The beautiful sound of the Stalker Gauss rifle.
3:55 in germany we got a kind of similar saying. ,,Einem geschenktem Gaul guckt man nicht ins Maul", which is translated into ,,You don´t look in the mouth of a giftet horse", but you use it more as a request
8:22 Gauss Rifle, my beloved
7:12 it’s funny how not only the shell doesn’t pen, but the xray shows the sabot hitting the side of the leopard 2 instead of the round itself 💀💀💀
This intro is definition of "I came to laugh not feel"
You know what didnt modernize today, the m4 sherman Day 2 of asking spookston to play m4a3 105
It looked like those non-pens on weak spots reflected off the barrel first, which probably reduced the pen down enough to not go through the weak spot.
I’ve never heard this man sound so angry
That turret ring is so exposed in the front
you should play the IS-1, Gun carrier (3-in), or the Panzer IV/70 because I know you love heavies and british tanks but if you dont wan't to do those you should try playing your favorite tank for arcade battles, I think that would be a cool vid idea
WT: can we have mid tier US AA vehicles.
Gaijin: how about being able to take the short abrams to school
Low budget and uncanny looking Abrams. It looks like something I would’ve drawn when I was five if I was trying to copy the M1 Abrams.
@ 7:15 it's a sabot petal impacting and deflecting off the Type 90's side skirt. Your shot penetrated but went into the void... 😿
The regular show sound effect is a great addition to the meme sound collection Spoopy my boy.
2:59 that 2s38 was probably me so if the username was timoriv it was me
It appears to play like a heavy tank - just one with bad armour.
Get well soon Spooks!
about the abrams (and leo 2s) not being able to aim over engine deck there is an override IRL to disable the engine block clearance measures, which is sadly not in WT
3:59
in fact, it is not, in chile (south america) we have a very similar saying
"a caballo regalao' no se le mira el diente"
"you don't look at the theet of a gifted horse"
10:43 Don't forget the horde of Su-25s
YES SPOOKSTON FOUND NIKO THE BAIKAL SEAL YAY!
You know what tank isnt hopeless, my little spookie bear, the m36 gmc please play it for me
Italy had plans to put an OF-40 turret ontop the Celere Sahariano, but cancelled the project due to the poor performance of the OF40 turret. Updated plans are now in motion to mount the Ariete turret atop the Celere Sahariano instead. In light of this information you should play the Celere Sahariano
Day 39 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.
7:00 Spookie died to artillery 💀
Wow who knew putting an abrams turret on a much worse hull would make the tank worse
This tank is definitely something that was made to be used in a film. ya know, a prop tank. Like the two "Tiger" tanks at the end of saving private ryan - the "tigers" were actually T34-85's dressed up as a Tiger tank.
The one thing the m60-2K has over the other M60s weither fighting with your other US m60 pals or fighting other M60s that other nations have, the 2K can peak around corners with the Abram’s cannon before the m60 turret can get around to doing the same.
2 minutes in and spookston already got cas…you know it’s gonna be a great video
2:45 the new schizophrenia update is crazy
3:52 in german we say: "einem geschenkten Gaul schaut man nicht ins Maul" which is basically the translation of it
@ 2:05 thats because most tryhard CAS players will first go for revenge kill, then the spawn areas as its an easy way to find vehicles to kill.
5:00 Because now they can make a premium one with the upgraded engine.
120S looks like if an Abrams had a haircut.
3:55 we actually have the exact same saying in German
"Einem geschenkten Gaul guckt man nicht ins Maul"
6:50 Remember all shells are inconsistent for both penetration and damage.
