- One of my favorite camping trips on my resume…Bear Island was a whole new ball game. Located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, this trip was exactly what I wanted out of a beach camping trip. Little to no people, no roads and cars, lights and buildings…it was just us and the ocean. Enjoy.
I’m not fond of bugs and sand fleas. But the fact that I can watch UA-cam at home with no bugs or fleas is great. Thanks for sharing your video.
Thanks for watching!
Beach camping! Great video, what fun and different way of camping🥰😎
That’s a beautiful place. I would love to be there, had no idea how beautiful it was. But I had heard about the sand fleas being a problem.
Never had the chance to camp there, but when we lived in the area we loved visiting Bear Island.
I’m afraid of the ocean, but now I want to camp here! Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
You can do it! Just don’t go In the ocean after a storm…like I did…the currents along the shore can be intense
YOOOOO that is THE coolest campsite!
It was so unique!
Thanks for sharing! Definitely a trip I wanna take soon!
You should! Fall and spring would be the ideal seasons to go!
Great video and thanks for sharing
thank you Cody for your video. So much fun to see something different. Have a great time. I look forward to future adventures.
We were just at Bear Island a week ago. Didn't go camping, just hung out on the beach and got LOTS of shells (and broken sand dollars LOL!)
This looks like it was a fantastic trip - aside from the bugs and heat at night. Thanks for sharing! It’s always fun to see a video from you.
Thanks for watching!
Baby Margaritas … that is soooo funny.
I know right? So funny!
Thanks, Cody! My wife and I used to kayak over from the Visitor Center to Bear Island to camp before the hurricane wiped things out several years ago. Good to know they have re-established the camping spots. Best to you!
Oh wow! I had no idea the sites had been wiped out. Glad you enjoyed the video!
What a lovely camping sport! I want to be there 😊
You should!
Steven Wright is gonna want those shells back.
Haha
You are probably too young for that reference. Try looking it up. Love to see you back.
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing your adventure! I'll have to add this to my list.
It’s gorgeous! Bring bug spray…they get bad at the tent sites
Looks like a great place to visit in spring or fall. Too hot for me in the summer. Nice video, hope to see another one soon. Thanks for posting.
I agree, go in the fall. August was royally hot
Beautiful beach!
This is beautiful…would love to camp there! Thanks 🙂🙏
You should! It’s such a cool experience
Hello Cody new subscriber here. I have tried to shower with Irish Spring Soap when camping and it does ease the mosquitos and bugs a bit. I also had spayed my entire tent 🏕️ with pinesol. It won’t completely get rid of bugs but will help the situation a bit. Great footage and thank you for sharing-Stay Wandering~Mariana from Jersey!
Thanks for the advice!
Stunning! Thank you for sharing. I took my daughter camping on Assateague Island in MD this spring and have been looking for another island to camp on. Adding to the list!
If you prefer more privacy/primitive settings, bear island is perfect. I’ve also tent camped on Assateague! Beautiful, but more people.
@codyhikes4054 our site was fairly private, but the road traffic around the island was unreal.
that sunset shot at the beginning is amazing.
i’m curious…i just finished watching Taylor’s videos on the ‘21 AT trip and i noticed you looked like you were filming too but i don’t see that you uploaded any vids from that trip. sorry, that was a really long sentence 🙃
You’re fine! I did film a bit yes, for personal footage and for my instagram (which I got rid of this year)
I didn’t have a UA-cam channel when I hiked the AT, or I would have posted :)
🤫
That looked like a bunch of fun! Any big hikes planned?
I do have something planned! I can’t say quite yet ;)
No matter, whatever you choose, ill follow@@codyhikes4054
👋🏻
I cannot believe we are moving 10 minutes from here!!!!!
