  • 🙋‍♀️ Ever heard of OCCIPITAL NEURALGIA?
It’s another common cause of chronic tension headaches that:
✅ haven’t gone away in over 6 months
✅ when you’ve seen 3+ doctors without relief?
Especially when those headaches are located right where Greg is pointing.
That’s where the occipital nerve lives.
When a nerve is chronically pulled tight
more than 15% of its length, it loses blood flow and becomes inflamed.
What was once angel hair pasta now becomes a piece of fettucine!
That makes it easier for people to feel.
1️⃣ Find the bottom of your skull
2️⃣ Move 1” to either side from the midline
3️⃣ Follow an imaginary line up
4️⃣ As you keep your finger soft and move it from side to side
5️⃣ Focus on the area of your head where you have the pain!
6️⃣ If you feel a string moving vertically, you’ve just diagnosed yourself with an occipital nerve entrapment by ADHESION!
    This problem won’t respond to:
    ❌ adjustments
    ❌ stim
    ❌ massage
    ❌ physical therapy
To get rid of the headaches, get the adhesion removed by adhesion specialist!
Chronic headache patients are becoming one of our fast growing collections of success stories!

Yeah it started out with random shooting, stabbing pains on one side of the back of head and now has spread to both sides
Happened 4 months ago and hasn’t gotten better
What’s odd was I thought it was a tension headache because the back of my neck would lock up ( tight/stiff) .
Been seen by doctors and imaging. Said that I was fine but in pain.

Occipital notch physical therapy or a good chiropractic who does these exercises: biofeedback, better posture techniques, active release or cranial massage, massage to the occipital notch, head, neck and shoulders. Heat application or tens can be helpful.
If you have a job or habit where your head and neck are flexed forward often you’ll make it worse. Take a break from technology

I have had the exact same pain where my uppermost vertebrae meets the base of my skull on the right side since a skiing accident when I was 12, in which I sustained a spinal injury and TBI. I really feel like it is killing me. I have been to so many different doctors and specialists over the years without success. It’s probably trigeminal neuralgia but in the past two years I have had 7 of these very sudden onset headaches that stem from behind my right eye. They cause vision loss and extreme pain but are fairly short in duration. I have pretty intense fears of hospitals and doctors, and it’s so overwhelming. I often feel very, very little hope for my life.

Please do a medical check-up for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) as your symptoms may be originating from a form of Hiatal Hernia and/or an H. pylori infection ( I had to do an endoscopy with biopsy to confirm this as it did not show in my blood or stool even though it was in my stomach). You would be surprised how problems with your gastrointestinal tract affect your overall well-being. Symptoms may include unexplained weight loss and difficulty gaining weight, iron deficiency, anemia, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, sudden severe cold, palpitations (high pulse), high blood pressure or even slightly low blood pressure.

If they had to remove a tumor or blood to save your life the damage the surgeon did to cut the scalp and skull to fix you is often the price you pay since that skull gets in the way for a reason. Death is the alternative and a neurologist wouldn’t have a treatment in mind post surgical procedure. A neurosurgeon would tell you hopefully it improves but it may not. Unfortunately pain can be normal and a part of life. Seeing a therapist to make peace with that is better than looking for magic treatments that won’t help or could make you an addict

    • @drchrisstepien
      @drchrisstepien  3 місяці тому

Adhesion in the neck or suboccipital muscles alone is unlikely to directly cause an eye to be pulled out of alignment. However, there can be indirect effects on eye alignment due to the intricate connections between muscles, nerves, and other structures in the head and neck region. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional if you have concerns about eye alignment or if you're experiencing symptoms related to neck or suboccipital muscle issues

And it was fine till the last month. This month i have started experiencing pain on back of my head but it goes when i sleep with a pillow behind my head. Yup, bad sleep posture can contribute to occipital neuralgia. Occipital neuralgia is a condition characterized by chronic pain in the upper neck, back of the head, and behind the eyes, typically due to irritation or injury to the occipital nerves. Poor sleep posture can lead to muscle strain and tension in the neck and upper back, which in turn can irritate the occipital nerves.

So sorry to hear this friend! It’s hard to say what’s your diagnosis without examination!
What Ashis said it’s so important, getting imaging such as X-rays to find out more about what could be causing your pain could be a good next step!
