      I’m sorry for your loss Joshua. I agree with your appreciation for fantano after reviewing this album, I never would have found it without him. And I’ve been having a hard time sleeping at night because I let my head run rampant with all my current and past bullshit. But listening to this every night calms me more than anything ever could or ever has. Not sure how this comment is gonna help you but I just wanted to share. I’m sure this will also be our first and last interaction as well so I wish you nothing but the best and I hope that time will heal you, and anybody and everybody that was close with your friend.

      babychickan thank you, I was worried putting myself out here since most Melon’s fans just want to meme but I’ve seen such a powerful response. I think Fantano’s followers having that millennial mindset means there’s a point of empathy that can be touched on. The people that saw my comment and didn’t brush it off made me smile.

    Thank you Nerdy Music Man.
    30 years ago I went through a real stressful period in my life. Being a record collector, music lover (Mostly Rock) but very into electronic music even prior to the commercial acceptance of the Moog Synthesizer. My first purchases in 1969 were Switched on Bach (Yawn) and Dick Hyman’s Electric Eclectics Which was pretty much on par with Jean Jacque Perrey’s bouncy pop sounds from back then.
    Jumping ahead to the mid 70’s with Brian Eno’s ambient releases & I forgot to mention my purchase around the late 60’s of “Songs of the Humpback Whale” when I was 15. Toss all this together and by the late 80’s I discovered New Age music which became my 2nd favorite music genre second only to “rock”. (I gave up characterizing the sub genres that’s even more ridiculous today).
    Back to my thanking you. Aromatherapy never worked. I use the following to relax and destress: new age, soundscapes & even a wave machine given to me as a gift in the 90’s.
    In the last few years it all fell into place with the iPhone, Spotify, air pods (I learned early in life never to push my musical taste onto others) I rarely am seen without an earbud on and I’m listening to something.
    You just gave me another artist to checkout that I’ve not heard of. I love all my old music but it still much more fun to run across someone new to listen to. This isn’t the first time you’ve pointed me into the right direction. As much as I love new age, I love noise even more. I’m 64 and you have recently turned me on to Daughters & Melt-Banana. I love noise!
    My favorite synthesizer album of all time is: Electronic Sound - George Harrison.

    • @zombieapocolipse69
      @zombieapocolipse69 5 років тому +1

      I agree, but my favourite has to be the track after, Blink. Those key strokes just instil a sense of nostalgia and peace in me, and the sparring use of synths adds a layer of emotional almost reflective depth as the tracks progresses. Love its uses of pauses too

      @@zombieapocolipse69 I've listened to the album quite a bit more and i think i agree with you on that. Blink is actually fantastic. Makes me feel so warm and relaxed when listening to it. The imperfect keys really help to make it feel that much more nostalgic i beleive.

    As a Puritan Melonite, I never indulged in sinful glances of the description for the score before the end of the video, but lately my temptations have gotten the best of me... 😞 I have failed you my Lord

    I also really enjoyed this album, I usually have a hard time staying engaged with ambient but this was a really good, Ear Dreamin' and Praying for Mother were my favorites, thanks for the rec!

    Good stuff. I wish you’d review more reissues. Probably not as clickbaity but there’s so much gold out there you could be exposing people to. for instance: the recent Nina Simone Fodder On My Wings reissue, last year’s Moondog reissue, anything Numero Group (like the recent Charlie Mégira comp), the other comps in this japan archival series (including the upcoming Pacific Breeze vol2). Hope you’re safe in Middletown ✌️

    Maybe one day try Susumu Hirasawa's album. One of the most creative people from the east imo. The melodies and compositions he comes up with almost feel like made by an alien
