Rotoscoping on Clip Studio Paint - Animation for Beginners
Вставка

- Using real life footage, I study rotoscoping, an animation technique looking at base footage frame by frame, to capture organic movement with CLIP Studio Paint. As an introduction to animation for beginners, this is a great technique to get started.

WOW look at those digital art skills! Loved seeing the process- thanks for collabing and bringing this manga version of me to life 😄
That's dope bro🔥🔥
This is so helpful as a csp user! I've been looking for a simple and easy to understand tutorial like this and they're really hard to find. But today your video popped up in my recommendation, I'm glad I clicked! Keep up the awesome work!
Glad I could help! Appreciate this so much :)
you just really saved my life, really loved the process it helped me so much
Thanks! So happy that I could help! :)
NIce!!! 100th like and a new skill! Level up! I can't wait to start animating my comic characters into doing fun things! :D
Thanks, happy I could help! :)
Oh my gosh thank you !!!
Glad you liked it :)
Really cool video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks! :)
This video is excellent. Needs more views
Thanks! Glad you liked it :)
just what i needed thx
Glad I could help! :)
underrated youtuber. frik the youtube algorithm
Haha thanks so much! I hope one day I can be rated just right :)
Underrated af
Haha thanks :)
Hey! Thank you for the video! Could you, please dwell a bit on how exactly to import images/videos for tracing? For some reason after importing an image I don't see it on my screen right away like you and I'm not allowed to draw on it, there's a red circle instead of a pen :(
Maybe you could start saying for do this you need "EX" version to increase the playback time, if you have the PRO version olny make 24
Good point, thanks for the feedback!
@@REMCreates you're welcome... but I'm still crying 😢
Hahaha
Bro you are so underrated I hate the UA-cam algorithm
Maybe one day the algorithm will bless me, but until then I'm happy that you can enjoy my videos! :)
how does it run smooth for you, my movie is so laggy even though i have a performant pc
how come when I import my mp4 it becomes laggy? :< Also when I try to scrub through it..
I have a huge problem with mine. Whenever I import the video, it’s sluggish. But when I don’t have it, it works fine! How am I supposed to rotoscope if the video lags?
I had a short video and it literally only put in a few seconds of it and I don't know how to put the whole thing in.
Excellent beginner intro to RS. However I found your music bed too loud and distracting although your example technique and explanation were really good.
3:04 And this is where I get stuck. All I get is a still image of the first frame.
video in what format?
Are u using a drawing pen or are u just tracing it on the computer?
Using a wacom display tablet!
Now i know this video is well over a year old but i have a question - is there any way to duplicate a layer and do slight adjustments rather than using onion skin and redrawing the entire picture?
I'm not necessarily looking for a shortcut that can be constantly applied, but if you go for a higher frame count, it would make subtle movements easier to depict.
there should be a way but its not as easy to duplicate layers like in clipstudio just for drawing. I haven't figured it out yet 🥲, but definitely a great observation to look into
When importing a video, it only shows 24 frames. I tried changing the animation settings to "end frame - 135 (number of frames I needed) and it says "The value exceeds the range that can be set for the timeline". It won't let me go over 24 frames at all, even by 1. Help pls
Ahhh nevermind. I think its an EX version. I only have pro! Damn xD
@@WockComble Not sponsored at all, but today's the last day of the clip studio sale for Ex! But yea Pro is enough for regular pictures and comics but ex def has more animation features
@@REMCreates Yeah I wish I could afford the sale but bills 😂 gonna start saving up for the next sale! Using Krita atm for my Rotoscoping needs. Would be amazing to get my CSP brushes on here but it'll do for now 😁 thanks though!
How long did it take to finish this clip?
a couple of hours if you're focused
How did you import your movie file? I've had to import image sequences which is annoying. Importing video seems to not work for me
The video shows how to import at 1:57 (File -> Import -> Movie), do you have clip studio paint ex or pro?
i guess its been broken since atleast 8 months agao now :/
never mind i looked it up. in another persons words
"check the layers palette
If (mp4) is in the animation folder
Please put it out of the animation folder
that's the cause
There is no video playback if it is in the animation folder"
it worked for me
THANK YOU!! tried to do the same thing. had the same problem. but this fixed it!!

@@psychicKult you’re welcome !
how you match the audio from the clip after doing the rotoscoping?
if you match the frames in the animation to the video, the audio should sync just fine when you overlay the audio in a video editing software
@@REMCreates for example, if the video is in 30fps, I should make the rotoscoping in 30fps too? sorry for my bad english, its not my main language
@@allangoncalves1453 no thats not necessary, i think 24 fps would be the max you really need to capture the fluid motion even if your video is higher in fps, anything more is probably extra work
I have a question i have imported the video but the video wont move. Why?
Same. I’m doing it on my iPad and using an mp4 file and it still won’t work
same! someone knows why?
take it out of the animation folder and it works T_T i just figured out
Is there a way to import the movie with sound?
You would have to do that separately and put the animation and audio on a video editor
@@REMCreates thank you! I didn't expect you to reply lol

A person of culture I see, great observation 😎
You have some much time to waste why not motion capture
Then animate in character animator 4
That’s another great technique! Rotoscoping is time consuming I do agree, but is just one of many methods to animate
