This should have been the villain for the sequel trilogy. It would have also made sense why Luke cut himself off and acted cowardly. Most of us would if powerful wicked god was on the loose.
imma be real, I don’t think Abeloth would’ve been a good villain. The theological aspect of Star Wars is my favorite aspect but she is far too vague for the general audience, if that makes sense. Episodes 1-6 are about the battle of Light and Dark, so 7-9 being about Order vs Chaos (where the First Order/Empire’s authoritarianism would be directly opposed to Abeloth and, by consequence, good guys inspite of their absolute evil) wouldn’t work ad well narratively. Granted, the current sequel trilogy doesnt work that great narratively, but the sudden twist would be a little meh
@@Theology.101Same. Would have preferred if they brought in Vitiate into canon, exploiting the conflict between law vs. chaos we’ve seen going on from Episode 1 to the sequels to destroy all life in the galaxy. This would force both sides to unite against a common enemy and, in the end, would see them comee together in a compromise between the strong government of the Core Worlds and the weak government of the Outer Rim.
@@darthregulusBecause Abeloth would be a bigger threat to the entire galaxy than Palpatine and the First Order could ever hope to be, overshadowing the sequels completely. The Galaxy we see in the sequels would look entirely different if they just survived an intergalactic war with a being like Abeloth.
@@laanoz2373if the sequels wasn’t ever released that could be but we have already see how the story ends and it just wouldn’t make since for her to appear
Could Balan be more in line with the Father? Seems like he wants to bring balance to the force by ending the ceaseless cycle of violence in the universe.
@@darklordvader66kinda like Kreia/Darth Traya upon stumbling on the Trayus Academy on Malachor V and reading some of the manuscripts found within those halls
@@rebelappliance771I almost think Anakin is the father, Ashoka is the daughter and Baylon is the son. Shin and Sabine are the "real world" new generation restarting the eternal battle between the lights idea and the darkside.
@@rebelappliance771 You're absolutely right. He's not trying to free Abeloth. He's going to kill her. Or at least try to. And Thrawn will kill the Nightsisters on Dathomir. Don't forget that he's still working for the Chiss and Eli Vanto is still out there. So much plot and so many threads to untangle.
Abeloth is so terrifying, but compelling. Her darkness is so different from what we usually see in the sith. We are used to seeing are all driven to control and conquer. Vader, Sidious, even Plagueis were all using anger and aggression (covertly or not) to actively fight their way up. Abeloth's darkness comes from longing, this twisted unquenchable desparation. Something so bone chilling about her.
Abeloth's fall is very similar to Anakin's fall. In that both took actions to help those they loved and in doing so turned those the love against them. Abeloth might be the only SW character that could seduce Anakin as Vader and turn him against Palpatine and the Empire.
It would make sense, he always looks like somthing or someone is pulling his attention, maybe even speaking to him. I think if they go this route he already knows who she is and is keeping his full intentions secret as a full wipe doesn't benefit anyone so they would all try to stop him. I believe Shin might jump sides at some point in the series although I enjoyed their sorta chaotic neutral side they had going.
@@Macky4941 Personally I think Baylan wants to become a new incarnation of the Father, but he's actually being manipulated by and drawn in by Abeloth in order set herself free. Baylan isn't going to find out what he's truly unleashed upon the Universe.....until it's too late.
What if Baylan doesn't know the true nature of Abeloth? He really does think that he is doing the right thing but he is actually shooting himself in the foot.
I think this is what his arc will ultimately be. He's read stories of Abeloth written by worshippers or some such and believes she can "wipe the slate clean" and end the cycle of violence and hatred he talks about. Once released, he'll either get killed or realise the mistake he made and help work to stop her.
@@chesney1995 sadly Baylen will be featured very little if at all since his actor died, it’s likely we might never get to see the end of his arc, or if we do it will be changed so it can end as quickly as possible
First off, I loved the glitchy versions of the opening and ending, heh. Good shit. Secondly, I also don't really think Abeloth either is or fits the idea of what Baylan is after, but it's kinda sad to me that she's apparently NOT more well loved, I thought she was a great example of Star Wars at its absolute weirdest.
I can say with 99% certainty that Ahsoka is not leading to Abeloth. This fanbase jumps to these wild Legends conclusions every time there is a modicum of uncertainty about potential outcomes for open ended questions and is very rarely correct. But it's cool that people are keeping her spark alive because i love Abeloth.
Spoiler Well baylen just found statues of the father son and daughter, I can't imagine what reason they'd show them again other than to Set up Abaloth, even if it's just for a Subpar spinoff show
When I first saw the Mortis gods in the Clone wars, I wondered where the mother was so I looked her up then. The more I read about her in legends, the more I fell in love. I hope they bring her to canon.
I definitely wouldn't mind more Lovecraftian and eldritch stuff in Canon, but Abeloth specifically? I don't know. I think it'd be safer to just create a new entity or something else similar to her but also distinct.
No. Keep the cuthulus out of star wars. That shit is straight up silly. The abeloth story is absolutely the dumbest star wars I have ever read, including the sequels.
The cycles of destruction and both Abeloth's and the Force's role in it is so rarely discussed but I really think is kinda the point of the namesake of Star Wars. It's literally the least talked about but most important element and it is refreshing to see someone acknowledge it.
@@EckhartsLadderthose are like, my favourite series in star wars, I was so disappointed when the jaina follow-up series got canned. I really wanted that story to continue
I’VE BEEN CALLING MY GIRL ABELOTH SINCE EPISODE ONE WHEN WE SAW THREE STATUES! I immediately assumed that the far off galaxy (and the Three Statues related to Dathomir were a refrence to the Ones of Mortis, who the Dathomiri worship) was her Cage
I always assumed that Sword of the Jedi would dive into a more myrhological perspective, with the Skywalker family (And Allana Solo specifically) finally serving their divine purpose on the Throne of Balance. Allana always seemed, to me, like she was the new Chosen One since Anakin’s failure
I also stan for the terrifying entity, I hope she does return, but efficiently and not forcefully. If not the coming episode, at least hint at her existence; that would still be enough for me to jump out of my chair in excitement knowing she is coming, let alone canon.
It was not out of jealous or desire for power that led her to drink the Font of Power and swim in the Pool of Knowledge but her fear of loosing her precious family since she was the only mortal of the family while the Ones were immortal. Her action however transformed her into a immortal but eldritch horror which corrupted her spirit into evil. She tried to subdue both the Son and Daughter but the Father protected them and left the Planet with both children, leaving Abeloth stranded. With this her most deepest fear came true - losing her precious family which drove her completely insane.
I think there is weight behind the Abeloth theory only due to Filoni being tied to the Ahsoka series and he being the one who brought The Ones to the tv series. Otherwise i wouldnt think they would want to stretch too much further than Thrawn and the rising remnants forming the First Order.
The fact Anakin shows up as a force ghost in the end shows how in tuned with the force that planet is, just like Mortis. Baylon and the statues at the end pretty much confirms the theory I feel like.
Fun fact: the Killicks (sp) are a hive mind that absorb the knowledge of those who join it. The context of that knowledge is either lost over time or not absorbed in the first place (I can't recall which), however, so rumors can become facts and truths incompatible with each other can both be true to the Killicks. Recently read Fate of the Jedi and wanted to add the above for fun, it doesn't disprove anything Eck said.
We still don't know what presence Palpatine sensed in that flashback in Empire's End. I'm betting something like Abeloth, but not Abeloth. Though, there is this. Skӧll and Hati are the sons of the wolf Fenrir, and an unnamed giantess. In the Old Norse religion, it is foretold the wolves will chase the sun and moon across the skies until Ragnarök, at which point the wolves catch up and devour the celestial beings. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sköll Angrboða (Old Norse: [ˈɑŋɡz̠ˌboðɑ]; also Angrboda) is a jötunn in Norse mythology. She is the mate of Loki and the mother of monsters.[1] She is only mentioned once in the Poetic Edda (Völuspá hin skamma) as the mother of Fenrir by Loki. The Prose Edda (Gylfaginning) describes her as "a giantess in Jötunheimar" and as the mother of three monsters: the wolf Fenrir, the Midgard serpent Jörmungandr, and the ruler of the dead Hel.[1] The Old Norse name Angrboða has been translated as 'the one who brings grief',[2] 'she-who-offers-sorrow',[1] or 'harm-bidder'.[3] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angrboða Might be looking too much into it.

*Shin's* *Behavorial* *Patterns* Shin stabbed Sabine in the abdomen. She Force choked Sabine until Baylan told her to stop. She said "destroy them" to the Nighttroopers without any hesitation. She did not stutter until Ahsoka intervened. And people want to ship Shin with Sabine? 😂 Sabine must have a twisted view on love if she wants to be with someone who keeps trying to kill her!! Is Sabine a masochist? What were Baylan's parting words for Shin again? It's actually a quote from Louis XIV of France. "Impatience for victory will guarantee defeat." Remember, Anakin was impatient too. Led him to the dark side when Obi-Wan kept telling him to be patient. Baylan might be sensing that in Shin. If let's say Baylan is grey, Shin is a little more closer to the dark side. I just can't see Shin suddenly joining Ahsoka one episode later just because her master abandoned her when she was a split second of getting Ezra and Sabine killed. We don't know much of Shin. For her to be redeemed later, wouldn't she need to be with the dark side first?? Now if she can't get accepted by Thrawn, she might end up wandering around Peridea looking for Baylan. But to see her join Ahsoka? I'm not sure about that based on her behavioral patterns. Shin has eyes of a killer. Baylan truly is a great character without many personality flaws to him. I'm not saying he's a Gary Stu. He's strong and powerful who can handle fighting Ahsoka. He's intelligent and wise. He's shown patience and compassion which Shin hasn't yet. It's not all about Baylan's mystery tour. He's an interesting character on his own. Very Dooku-like from Tales of the Jedi before joining Sidious. Now perhaps Baylan's flaw is finding this entity that leads to his death? He's getting duped. Maybe he's gone mad? And I did question why he would tell Shin to kill Ezra and Sabine when he could've had Sabine killed a few episodes prior. What was the whole point bringing Sabine there? It was a sudden turn. Or he could be so brainwashed by Abeloth, who knows? The fate of Shin is the second biggest mystery behind Baylan's quest. She's the wildcard. Where will she go? Thrawn, find Baylan, or join Ahsoka? Baylan is still the most intriguing part of the entire story. The one who is calling him could end up being a crazy reveal. I just hope it's not as lame as Bran Stark being named the King. I'm hearing in Episode 8, Morgan will fight Ahsoka again. That's cool. Morgan will be equipped with two daggers from the Great Mothers. I'm thinking daggers that look as badass as Catspaw in GOT. There is going to be a confrontation between Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine against the witches or perhaps with just Ashoka? I predict nobody dies though. It's a fight where nobody is fatally wounded just like what we saw in Ep 7. Just some action scenes to fill up time. I really do believe Thrawn is leaving and the heroes will not stop them. Then I figure the other parts is showing where Baylan is headed. As Josh from The Den of Nerds said, I would be completely fine if all of Ep 8 was focused on Baylan. I really do not care what happens to Thrawn or Ahsoka in Ep 8. It's fairly predictable by this point. I figure Thrawn is gone. Peace out, y'all! Ahsoka tries to fight the witches but ends up getting stuck there. Then the Baylan stuff is what we'll hopefully see at the end which leaves a major cliffhanger.... Then two damn years waiting for Ahsoka Season 2 to get answers just like fans like me waiting two damn years for House of the Dragon Season 2. And perhaps as long as three damn years starting from 2022 for Stranger Things S5, Cobra Kai S6, Andor S2, and The Boys S4. The Long Night... This sucks! I'll get more impatient than Anakin and Shin!
If this is true (massive if), they're gonna have Baylan tell a story from the temple about it to catch the non-clone wars/rebels viewers up with the celestials, but this seems a bridge too far for live action star wars IMO
I wish they could introduce the Mnggal-Mnggal later on in another season or another series with Ezra. Maybe they can make something where, Ashoka supposedly destroys Abeloth but in the end, she's alive and becomes or her essence transforms into the Mnggal-Mnggal, becoming a greater threat.
@@bobafett4457 with the episode that aired today, it makes more sense to introduce both Abeloth and the Mnggal-Mnggal in the future, if they are going to take the path of dealing with the undead and the darkside.
@@bobafett4457 yeah but it would be nice if Disney tries to bring back the Mnggal-Mnggal to canon. You never know, they might surprise us. I hate to say it, but you might be right, they might disappoint us in the end.
If they're bringing Abeloth in, they'll have to nerf her big time as she'd kill Ahsoka with a blink of an eye lol. In fact she'd kill the whole Ahsoka cast in about 5 seconds... so if she is brought in, it'll be a Diet Coke version of her unfortunately
Apparently there is a Zeffo Easter egg on the platform the Great Mothers are first standing on that is in sith writing and talks about the dark side sage Kujet, so it might be that Baylan is looking for Zeffo power or knowledge that could end the cycle of war, and it would be cool if this comes true so that another link to Jedi Fallen order is made
I didn’t know that Abeloth’s coming was a sort of cyclical thing triggered by events in the galaxy. That’s pretty cool. My favourite game series are the Ace Combat games, and there’s a mythical figure in those games called the Razgriz who appears cyclically to wipe out the world and then recreate it. Reminds me of that, which I really enjoy.
This is probably just me hoping but an introduction like this could be a great way to finally introduce a hard break in canon from the sequel trilogy. People have been clamoring for a soft reboot for awhile and they've been content so far to just fill the 30 year gap between when the sequel movies start and the end of Episode 6, while only softly alluding to stuff from the sequels. Throwing Thrawn back into the mix along with Aboleth would be the perfect way to both muddle the waters and present a cool, fresh storyline that could invalidate the lead up to the sequel movies.
@@AngeloBarovierSD With all the world between worlds shit, some time travel retconning could give us an effective reboot if Disney decides they’d like the franchise to make money at the theater again.
@@ModuliOfRiemannSurfaces WBW is certainly a viable mechanic for alternate (in-universe) history. But that ain’t happening anytime soon. And the sequels did not lose money.
@@AngeloBarovierSD Right but Solo and Rise of Skywalker did not make anywhere near the money that Star Wars should due to shedding 30-40% of viewers after TLJ lol
@@ModuliOfRiemannSurfaces ROTJ made less money than TESB. ROTS made less money than TPM, though little more than AOTC. Moreover, every sequel (in the OT, PT, and ST) received backlash for a while. Every single one. It’s a Star Wars pattern to open a trilogy big (just like TFA) because there was time between trilogies. I’m not going to get into a debate about WHY the drop happened with the ST, or how those films could have been better. I’ll leave that to all the “experts” on UA-cam, who get off on that poodoo. Either way, back to the actual subject being discussed, there will be no reboot of the sequels anytime soon. Rey, Kylo, and friends are now embedded in canon and in marketing (including Disney’s SW parks), and another Rey film is in development.
Glad I read and kept my hardback copies of the books. Still one of my favorite series from the EU. Abeloth was written well and down right scary to think of what she was. Seeing the ending of Ahsoka... well I won't spoil one way or another.
Abeloth should have a story dedicated to her. Not be some background character in the THRAWN movie / storyline. It’s not her. It’s something that will make him go crazy like joruus. Or actually is joruus. Or Ezra alrdy is and we just haven’t seen his crazy side. Except for his eyes.
I like the idea of Baylen being so in over his head that he thinks that he can control what hes releasing because hes the only one headed towards whatever is pushing thrawn away. Which would ultimatly lead to his demise
Aboleth is either gonna be the worst girl in Disney Wars (they ruin her like everyone else), or the best girl (she kills everyone and Disney has to sell).
@@kylerstorm9260 Abeloth isn’t Feloni’s creation and was in legends before Disney bought Star Wars. There’s tons of gods and mythical lore in Star Wars, legends and canon.
If they're really going to reveal her, this will either piss off Star Wars fans or this will become the latest masterpiece the franchise has ever had. I hope you people are ready for the new episode first thing tomorrow. But if it isn't revealed yet, then it's clear that these people need to think long and hard before they proceed with the revelation
I feel like if Abeloth is the next villain, he (or I guess she) needed a bigger lead up than just simply Baylon mentioning a “dark force.” Sure it’s unlikely she’ll show up in the season finale, but I would have at least liked some kind of hint at her earlier rather than just an indirect mention.
In meta, Abeloth predates the Ones. The Fate of the Jedi book series where Abeloth debuted showed the character before The Ones appeared in the Clone War series. The lore of the book series was changed to tie the Mortis Gods to Abeloth.
Now, to the video. I think Abeloth could work. You're working on the assumption that whatever mechanism Abeloth is using to draw Baylan in reveals Abeloth's nature, or indeed true nature. It could be that Abeloth is promising to bring an end to the Jedi/Sith conflict, which semantically she(it?) could do by wiping them out, but just doesn't mention that doing so is merely a reset of the overall cycle. Or Abeloth is outright lying to Baylan. Or perhaps Baylan is simply interpreting the call he is feeling through the force with his own bias of exhaustion and sorrow at all the war and death. I am also enjoying this idea with the hints to the Zeffo we've been seeing. I can't quite remember the nature of their exodus from galaxy prime but perhaps Abeloth had something to do with it. Would be a great way to establish her(it?) as a galaxy wide threat via established lore. This could also tie into the end point of the Ahsoka show (is there going to be more than one) being that neither the good nor the bad guys leave Peridia. Say what you want about Thrawn but he would absolutely deal with the threat of Abeloth before returning to prime.
Honestly i think that just like how the yuuzhan vong were substituted with the grisk, something like abeloth would be better off replaced by a different entity serving a loosely similar role, like an evil bendu-like creature Thrawn was only really re-canonized because he was that critically acclaimed. There is no other Legends figure on his level of popularity aside from maybe Darth Revan.
They recanonize weird unpopular stuff all the time, just not in TV shows. In fact they sometimes seem allergic to canonizing popular stuff, Mara Jade is also acclaimed yet she's nowhere to be found. People love Jaina and Jacen yet they got replaced by boring incest versions of themselves 😂 I can think of a lot of popular EU figures that canon ignores yet canonizes Jaxxon instead.
Concerning Baylan, what if it’s not a race calling to him but the THO YOR? Now i haven't read the Dawn of the Jedi comics myself, just an avid Wookiepedia surfer, but the idea of the Tho Yor has always interested me. Large mysterious floating pyramids find force users and are then studied and used to transport across the galaxy, starting both the Jedi and intergalatic relations (also invasions i guess... looking at you Rakatans). As we have progressed through the Ahsoka show, the little drips and hints of what may truly be in this new galaxy and on Perida have us all thinking about potential races and plot points. The Grysk, Yuuzhan Vong, Rakatans and now even The Abaloth is being thrown about as a possibility. All of which I think would be fun and interesting additions to our 'offical' canon. That said, my mind keeps coming back to the Tho Yor. Yes the Grysk would make sense, given we have Thrawn, and the other races all could work and play a role in telling the coming story. But Baylan talks of the endless cycle of wars, the beginning of it all, training Shin in a different way, hearing the calls of something great and powerfull... and all i can think of are those damn cool looking floating mystery pyramids. What it means, where it leads I have no idea but I guess time will tell. What do people think?
#AskEck First let me say, congrats on 5.5 million views on Battle of the Dreadnoughts! Will you continue on your battle breakdown series on the Yuuzhan Vong war? I really want to see more detailed videos on what went down during the war.
Yeah id love to see a star wars death troopers book made into a star wars movie that be terrifying on a abandoned star destroyer and everyone has turned into a undead monster
I thought The Mother became Abeloth because when she was growing old, she was scared of dying and losing her family, so she became desperate to find a quick way to become immortal, which went horribly wrong. I've never read the books though, so I'm most likely wrong.
I've always been highly interested in abeloth, and really wish there was more of her in star wars. She's a very interesting story point that simply didn't receive the love and attention it could have. Hope we do see her!
If Abeloth is meant to be the counterpart to The Father from Mortis, and Anakin was meant to take the place of The Father, I feel like it's possible that Anakin's appearance in the Ahsoka show could also be foreshadowing a confrontation with Abeloth or some equivalent entity, and in doing so, showing Anakin's greater role in the force.
I think the power that Baylan seeks is Abeloth in the sense that he plans to absorb it either into Shin or himself, so that he can sacrifice that person to destroy Abeloth and end the cycle that she creates. Because what if like in Legends Abeloth is immortal and can’t be killed by anything but the Mortis Dagger. So, Baylan’s solution to this is to trap her within a mortal body so that when said mortal dies she dies with them. Which would effectively make her mortal again.
Hey Eckharts a quick question. I feel like it should obvious by now but how do you get the footage of the star wars tv shows for your videos? I'm trying to put something together, that's why
They say that Luke and Krytis defeated her. But just be sure Luke sent his Jedi out to look for the dagger. I think it more likely that Balan will find a force well himself and well… either dive in it or destroy it
I think there's something to consider: even if I'm not expecting any Abeloth to appear in the finale, I WILL say that I still think Baylan could have justifiable reasons to seek her out. You describe their goals as being opposite... but what if that's exactly it? Baylan believes Abeloth feeding on chaos and conflict is encouraging it through the Force, and he's deliberately seeking her out to DESTROY her? Obviously even if he has a plan he'd be way in over his head, but yeah. As mentioned though, I'm not expecting her to show up, just explaining how I think it COULD work. also damn nice spooky intro and outro
*The* *Last* *Jedi* There's a scene where Luke Skywalker looks angry and is holding a lightsaber ready to kill his nephew because he saw darkness in him. What if the same dark entity that pushed Luke to abandon the dogma of the Jedi Order is the same one calling Baylan? The Sequel Trilogy can be viewed better if they somehow create links to other stories that led to their actions. The Prequels is now viewed so much better thanks to The Clone Wars animated series to fill the 3-year gap between AOTC and ROTS. The only thing I don't wish it to be is Palpatine. I personally love Sidious but Disney made a huge mistake bringing him back for TROS which created tons of plot holes and ruined the OG characters previous actions. It simply didn't make any sense and I wanted Snoke to be his own character. Killed him off way too soon. *What* *If* *It's* *Anakin?* Nobody has really asked that. What if he is The Son? I think a lot of people would love Anakin back in some physical form and not be in flashbacks or in holograms. If they can bring Palpatine back, they can do the same for Anakin. It's not like Hayden is getting tons of calls from studios. I'm not part of the Hayden member berries club who keeps wanting to see him from all the nostalgia bait. I didn't care for Hayden's portrayal of Anakin from 20 years ago. But if it's a way to bring Hayden's Anakin back in a physical form and not just in WBW or in holos, why not? We keep coming up with different theories and it's like what happened to guessing who Marrok was. Made people trying to guess who he was look foolish. What if it's a lot simpler than that? What if it's right in front of us like Queen Amidala and Padmé being the same person in TPM? Check out the SW celebration with Ray and Lars getting interviewed. We got Baylan and Thrawn, two of the best characters in Ahsoka with the most charisma. Lars said something interesting. He said we won't really know what's it all about until the final scene. *What* *If* *It's* *Shin?* What if Shin is Abeloth or is controlled by her and is really the dark entity calling Baylan to go there? Then when Baylan goes to this temple, tomb, or cave, he releases the real version of this evil spirit? We really don't know much about Shin. She could be possessed by Abeloth or whoever. Be used as an instrument to lure Baylan there. Or perhaps Shin is like Agatha in WandaVision. Pulling the strings all along. "And I killed Sparky, too." When I first saw Shin, she looked broken and unhinged. She looks eager. I initially thought she would betray and kill Baylan. Perhaps this is still in play? Shin has this face of a killer. I keep comparing Ivanna Sakhno to Elizabeth Olsen because they can portray dark, complicated women. If Shin isn't accepted by Thrawn and the witches on their ship, where else can she go? So she will probably follow Baylan wherever he's going to unless she takes Ahsoka's offer of joining them. You might see Shin just wandering around Peridea. I would be pissed if Shin does kill Baylan though unless she was possessed by this demonic entity. It's how I felt with Kylo Ren after killing Han (even though the real killer is Harrison)... "Han is not complicated enough" according to HF. I've seen Star Wars and Indiana Jones so many times that I've lost count and Indy is not anymore complicated than Han. Same guy, different costumes! Two characters on different sides of the same coin with Harrison's picture on each side. Going back to Shin, I really hope she's not out to kill Baylan because she's secretly possessed or she's this dark entity in physical form but in a weakened state. The leak says neither Baylan and Shin will be killed this season. Does it end like Shenmue II? In a cave discovering something but then ends abruptly? Everything is in play. Abeloth, Bendu, a Zeffo, The Son, Anakin, or a possessed or unpossessed Shin. I think Shin is an interesting character. I don't want it to be her so we can explore her background more. She's like a Grey Jedi Rey. But we need to know more of her background because what exactly is she redeeming about herself if she turns to the light? One of the worst things The Last Jedi did other than the bad characterization of Luke was killing Snoke in the middle of the movie. I wanted to know more about him. Then we discover in TROS that he was a creation by Palpatine. So lame. I really hope they don't make the same mistake with Shin. She has potential to be the most popular female SW character of all-time. I will miss Baylan Skoll... Dooku + Obi-Wan + Plo Koon = AWESOME Sprinkle some Qui-Gon and Thrawn in there as well. Just a fantastic character.
Spoilers idk if qualifies but just incase Either the well of power or knowledge is here (since its not 100 percent to legends lore), or some artifacts and baylon is after it or hes gonna release abeloth if shes here. Either ashoka and sabine stop him from getting the power or releasing her then they get rescued by ezra and hera then fight thrawn. Or shes released escapes, and then thrawn, ashoka, mandalorians, luke, ghost n co, new republic unite to defeat her avengers style and thrawn leaves back to the unknown regions content. Some proof it might be abeloth or the well or artifacts is baylon mentions unimaginable power, the planet is of death and madness, and yes the mortis gods on the mountain. Either way excited where its going. Dave did say he wanted to unite the shows. Just some theories
being very familiar with LOTF and FOTJ in particular, i agree with the assessment on her being a reset. if they do include her, they may ditch a few of her features to fit the story but it makes sense with how prominent the Ones have been as a possibility. perhaps Anakin's choice freed her, rather than Jacen's. abeloth as in Legends? doubtful but a bringer of Chaos? sure.
That's what I think. Abeloth will be canon. Ahsoka is the daughter, Anakin the father. And I think Shin Hati turns and is the "new" Mara Jade. There are some parallel parts to the books. Hopefully we see Thrawn's attack on the Rebellion Shipyard on Sluis- Van
I think if Abeloth does show up, it'll be in some heavily adapted form, maybe even using a different name. Perhaps her role as The Mother will be referenced, and she'll be then connected to the Nightsisters of Peridea as their first Great Mother (or some other superlative Mother, greater than Great). I also think that if she's what's luring Baylan, they'll borrow that aspect of her story from Legends, where her whispers are deceits, false promises of power and knowledge. That way, the fact that Baylan is essentially looking for a great Agent of Order doesn't conflict with the fact that he's about to unleash the great Agent of Chaos.
As for Abeloth, I love her story and concept, but the execution is worse. Her, probably the best moment in my opinion is in the first book, on Kessel. When Allana Solo sees some strange grave of the dark side, walks away from it, hides behind a hill, and then hears a voice from the Abyss calling to her. I had goosebumps then. Fate of Jedi (and Lost Sith Tribe) were my first Star Wars books. And I remember them very well, especially Bwan'tu, the Bothan lawyer Tahiri, how everyone hated Daala, Vestara Khai. I read the last book, Apocalypse, in a day, and it was the only time it happened to me
The movies should have gone this route if ANYONE of the THREE separate directors had cared about staying faithful to the source material. But not they all focused on doing their own take on the series even if it meant walking back the direction the previous director was making… The tv series has been killing it compared to the last trilogy
Trevorow tried to bring in an ancient Sith and Mortis, and I suspect that's why his script was rejected, because they were like "Nah, that's Filoni's jam."
Also I had assumed Abeloth was using her unreal force powers to shift the black holes out of place and prevent her prison planet from getting swallowed up by the b lack holes too, to serve her aim of escaping. And surviving and growing in power.
I dont think so. It's too heavy for Disney to go there. However, that would be totally cool for it to be introduced. It has to be something else. Wild thought Balin becomes the representation of the Son. Ashoka becomes the Daughter and Anakin becomes the Father. Just a momentary thought.
well, Andor was pretty gritty for star wars + disney... so they do have some precedent there, but honestly - I don't think it will be Abeloth, and I'm not sure she should be in it, as she is waaaay too OP. I'm not a big fan of just one-upping the villains in power as it eventually creates the same problem the MCU has. I hope it's something to do with another civilization that, could introduce quite a bit of characters and new lore.
The other thing is that "Peridea" could come from greek "peri" - around, concerning and Latin "dea" meaning goddess, so the planet name could be another hint.
This should have been the villain for the sequel trilogy. It would have also made sense why Luke cut himself off and acted cowardly. Most of us would if powerful wicked god was on the loose.
Yeah wish we had her than palpatine coming back
@@davidordaz5251and then forced to work with luke to stop her would had been great
imma be real, I don’t think Abeloth would’ve been a good villain.

@@WilliamAGould You're so right! I never thought of it that way!
It could be that she is manipulating Baylean as she did that in the books.
It would make sense, he always looks like somthing or someone is pulling his attention, maybe even speaking to him. What if Baylan doesn't know the true nature of Abeloth? He really does think that he is doing the right thing but he is actually shooting himself in the foot.

The Kilik describes it as a desire for power, and jealous, but yes it was also a desire to stay with them and later recreate her family
@@EckhartsLadder The Kilik might not have been 100% accurate. I recall that they were being corrupted by the shadow hive.
Fate of the Jedi is so underrated probably my favorite series of Star Wars novels

*Shin's* *Behavorial* *Patterns*
Shin stabbed Sabine in the abdomen.
"Impatience for victory will guarantee defeat."
Remember, Anakin was impatient too.
All this Abeloth speculation is giving me some bad Mephisto in Wandavision vibes.

Really cool intro! Spooky
A reboot is not going to happen. Not a soft one. Not a hard one.

Introducing abeloth does not absolve this show's mistakes
I feel like if Abeloth is the next villain, he (or I guess she) needed a bigger lead up than just simply Baylon mentioning a “dark force.” Sure it’s unlikely she’ll show up in the season finale, but I would have at least liked some kind of hint at her earlier rather than just an indirect mention.
He didn't even mention a dark force, just a power.
In meta, Abeloth predates the Ones. The Fate of the Jedi book series where Abeloth debuted showed the character before The Ones appeared in the Clone War series. The lore of the book series was changed to tie the Mortis Gods to Abeloth.
Loving the Spooktober intro! Good work!
I mean, it’s not like Abeloth is above lying. Specifically lying about wanting to bring peace while fomenting conflict.
I love what you did with the intro and outro for an Abeloth video
Honestly i think that just like how the yuuzhan vong were substituted with the grisk, something like abeloth would be better off replaced by a different entity serving a loosely similar role, like an evil bendu-like creature
Thrawn was only really re-canonized because he was that critically acclaimed.
The "spooky" edits of the intro and outro are great
It sounds awesome, but too awesome that I don't want to be frustrated if it doesn't happen, so I'll keep my low expectations.

I thought The Mother became Abeloth because when she was growing old, she was scared of dying and losing her family, so she became desperate to find a quick way to become immortal, which went horribly wrong. I've never read the books though, so I'm most likely wrong.
You should implement more of those scary intros and outros. They were amazing
Abeloth might not be one to end the cycle like Baylin wants, but maybe in reaching out to baylin she’s tricked him into thinking that
I've always been highly interested in abeloth, and really wish there was more of her in star wars. She's a very interesting story point that simply didn't receive the love and attention it could have. Hope we do see her!
jacens betrayal was the final push for aboloths release....and currently we don't have a jacen.
I would love to see her in star wars but I don't think it's happening it's something we want doesn't mean it will happen
My opinion is, they're just gearing up for Halloween.
I think it more likely that Balan will find a force well himself and well… either dive in it or destroy it
Also hear me out, what if the dagger in the rise of Skywalker was the dagger
Star wars Cthullu is here and i am here for it.
Was that scream footage in the intro from jedi rocks?
*The* *Last* *Jedi*
There's a scene where Luke Skywalker looks angry and is holding a lightsaber ready to kill his nephew because he saw darkness in him.
*What* *If* *It's* *Anakin?*
Nobody has really asked that.
*What* *If* *It's* *Shin?*
What if Shin is Abeloth or is controlled by her and is really the dark entity calling Baylan to go there? Then when Baylan goes to this temple, tomb, or cave, he releases the real version of this evil spirit?
We really don't know much about Shin. She could be possessed by Abeloth or whoever. Be used as an instrument to lure Baylan there. Or perhaps Shin is like Agatha in WandaVision. Pulling the strings all along. "And I killed Sparky, too."
When I first saw Shin, she looked broken and unhinged.
Dooku + Obi-Wan + Plo Koon = AWESOME
Sprinkle some Qui-Gon and Thrawn in there as well. Just a fantastic character.
while abaloth may may fit the description of what baleth is looking for, there's no reason for her to not lie and feed into his desire...
Using Joh Yowza and Max Rebo as horror footage is truly inspired
Spoilers idk if qualifies but just incase
Either the well of power or knowledge is here (since its not 100 percent to legends lore), or some artifacts and baylon is after it or hes gonna release abeloth if shes here.
After episode 8 I am CERTAIN that this is the case
If Disney want to Recanonized Abeloth/The Mother, Save her for the Rey Movie.
Rey movie is going to suck balls!
Just dont do a Rey movie and waste another 200mil on sequel "content"... Its like investing into a black hole.
Or, we can not do a Rey movie because everyone knows that character is nothing but bullshit.
Abeloth be like: chaos is a ladder 🪜
being very familiar with LOTF and FOTJ in particular, i agree with the assessment on her being a reset. if they do include her, they may ditch a few of her features to fit the story but it makes sense with how prominent the Ones have been as a possibility. perhaps Anakin's choice freed her, rather than Jacen's. abeloth as in Legends? doubtful but a bringer of Chaos? sure.
What if Baylan's story is setting the stage for a Post-ST villain?
Oh shit that looks horrifying.
But I’ve seen worse.
*chuckles in warhammer*
That's what I think. Abeloth will be canon. Ahsoka is the daughter, Anakin the father. And I think Shin Hati turns and is the "new" Mara Jade. There are some parallel parts to the books. Hopefully we see Thrawn's attack on the Rebellion Shipyard on Sluis- Van
I don't need these intros to fuck with me; I watch this shit at night, man!
But not they all focused on doing their own take on the series even if it meant walking back the direction the previous director was making…
The tv series has been killing it compared to the last trilogy
I wonder though would Aboloth Even be Intent on Giving Balin Skull what He wants
The other thing is that "Peridea" could come from greek "peri" - around, concerning and Latin "dea" meaning goddess, so the planet name could be another hint.
Was definitely thinking the same thing
