I'm totally amazed with the kit especially when it can do half pressed focus, just like a real camera. That zoom switch is also great and on top of that, the filter holder is mind blowing. Imagine using polarizing filter or ND filter on a phone. Great video!!
1st video to pop up in feed about this ultra, well done. Impressive stuff from Xiaomi, looks like they worked hard having this well optimized out of the gate. Looking forward to more in-depth analysis
7:36 As someone who does photography as a hobby, this is one of my dreams came true. I always thought it'd be amazing to see a hybrid between a camera and a phone once again now that sensors have become so big. I hope we can see more brands doing this, or at least see Xiaomi releasing these kind of accessories worldwide.
I think we are soon approaching a single lense camera system. 😅 I always wonder why sony does not simply grab one of their mirroless cameras and give it phone features.
True.. but it lacks some points for me.. it would be super great if the camera design is compact that allow us to use smaller filter and additional lens support.. that would be a game changer.. this is just a mere updates..
@@angel20503 Maybe it would be possible to make an adapter for lenses, after all, there's people who has adapted proyector lenses, disposable camera lenses and rangefinder lenses to mirrorless cameras, I think there must be a way to 3D print and adapter for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. However, I don't think someone will do it soon, due to it only releasing in China and being relatively costly
@@cruzdesangre2850 Yes.. we can 3D print them but it wont look nice.. sure there is 3rd party product like cage and adapter but largely focus to iphones.. again it would super great if Xiaomi or any other brand produce them natively..
Good job Ben! Lots of people have been waiting for this comparison & the photography kit info also helps people to decide the CP value. Excellent and keep it up!
That camera grip accessory is great. I have a separate camera grip for my phone but the bulk makes it too wide for grip especially around my palm. Having a dedicated accessory that fits firmly onto my hand is awesome.
XM13U with 1TB + photography kit absolutely blown my mind away! I will put my money for one once global unit is available in my country. Huge TYSM to Ben for your awesome work!
I love ben's videos. Even when the universe conspires to stop him (at 4:00) he would continue the review, turning it into a smartphones drop test. 😀 The addition with the extra grip/case that gives you smooth control of functions (zoom etc.) is very good, I would like other companies to follow this example. With bigger sensors, variable aperture, better sensors beyond the main camera, I think we have entered a new era of smartphone cameras. As a fan of the big optical zoom, I hope that at some point we will also see implementations with variable optical zoom, where the lenses will come out of the phone body.
I have watched a couple of your video reviews, and find them quite entertaining. I've been using Xiaomi devices for a few years, and like them most of all for their durability. And it's good to see them starting to seriously challenge modern flagship phones. Keep up the good work! Subscribed btw.
Thanks so much for this comparison video!! I'm so glad I discovered you through someone rting you on twitter! 😅 It's crazy how different the shots are coming out. I'm actually quite surprised by how much I'm liking the Oppo Find X6 Pro too! 😅
What a wonderful video!! Not only do you give great comparisons between phones, we get to see a slice of life in Beijing. The line dancing on the sidewalk, the scooter rider that we wanted to tell you was coming close (ha!). Stay safe and thank you!!
Another simple but well put review! Appreciate it Ben and keep it coming. Now, Patiently waiting for the P60 Pro/ Art in depth reviews + need your review of the new redesigned Freebuds 5 as well + Watch ultimate. I mean it and really looking forward to it!
Dang Ben, you getting in on all the greatest tech first! Also, I love how we both share the same idea - a cell phone doubling as a proper camera is an easier option than lugging around a gigantic camera and lens system. True, I love my Alpha Sony camera and lenses, but this Xiaomi Ultra is the first time I am considering to buy a phone that can replace my equipment for random street photography! I just wish this device was available globally tho
Finally! A proper shootout between relevant phones. Been waiting for days that felt like years! Thank you Sir for your dedication for all things phones! 💖
Hi Ben, thank you for this Xiaomi 13 Ultra camera review, it looks great. For the past two years, now I've been using the Xiaomi mi11 Ultra and the Xiaomi 12s Ultra which are superb. I can't wait to buy the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Xiaomi Company means business and I like that, they are really pushing the limits. Well done Xiaomi
Ah, excited to watch this after I end work! Was refreshing my sub box from last night after the launch announcement of the Mi 13 Ultra, but there was none!
I say this every time Ben, you smashed it 😂 I know I can always rely on your channel to impress me. I NEED this phone! And that camera grip too! Great video as always 😁
Damn good review. Thanks for explaining everything in detail. I really appreciate your reviews. I always find something, I don't get from other UA-camrs.
That variable apertura is a very good news, using Vivo X90 Pro I've realized the same thing as you with OPPO Find X6 Pro, too much light in daily photos, I think it will help a lot to control light.
Complimenti per il video davvero molto dettagliato. In Italia non se ne vedono tanti così ben fatti. Dicevi che 13 Ultra non è equipaggiato per le macro!! Che peccato!! Oppo Find X6 Pro è messo meglio??
Wow, I much prefer Hasselblad's color science! I don't know if the camera difference is significant, but the colors are much better in my opinion. Xiaomi seems to give too much priority to the blue and colors close to the skin color. When you were passing the blue fence, it was to much blue in my opinion. No doubt, Xiaomi has a good camera. But out of the two, I'll definitely pick Oppo. The accessories are awesome. I don't see much use for the handle. Cause pocketability is more important in my opinion then grip comfort. But filters - its awesome. The nice addon would be an ability to stick 1or 2 filters to the back of the phone. Awesome review as always, Ben :)
I also think that hassel wins, it is able to give a photo different level of tones and contrast and the details of the dark parts are much more elevated.
First thing I was waiting after the release of Xiaomi 13 Ultra was the hands on of Ben and here we have it. Many thanks for what you are doing Ben. It’s much appreciated. Please include Vivo X90 Pro Plus in the comparisons. If only you could help those outside China who want to import the product from China.
Great video as usual Ben!)) What can I say @ 7:16 it was just WoW 😛 I can remember those days using the sony qx100. Looking forward some more photos from the ultra, and maybe [maybe] I'm gonna lean towards xiaomi though 😂 but wait, we need the EU price yet 😢
What about 8K on this thing? Does it record in 30fps or just the 24fps from Pro version? We filmographers are interested on that info!!! PS: And if you could provide us some example recording in 8K would be AWESOME :)) Best channel ever. Specially if you compare 8K against S23 and Vivo X90 Pro+ (and X13Pro)
Great reviews. Really covered all aspects. In future, may I request to review each camera phone after typical usage of 3-6 months. The camera quality degradation is a factor that isn't discussed as often. Should make for an interesting viewing. Thanks.
Love your phone reviews that involve the best international phones! Got myself the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 to replace my Mate X2 and I can't wait for the new Xiaomi Fold or might even get the Mate X3
Great work, big fan as always. I know you don't use the selfie camera too much, But I wish these companies would put slightly more focus into that since it is still an important lens to many.
They could, but this is a photography camera. There are other phones if you are a vlogger or selfie fan that needs more than 1080p (most of us are OK with FHD+).
Great to see review about camera grip. Many people just doesn't realize what it means, besides protection of lens, you can use ND filter or any other filter, last available on Nokia 808. Camera grip is surely useful for more smooth videos if using just one hand... Another main point to realize, the grip will let people get more usable horizontal shots, since many shoot vertical.
Great video, man. thumbs up. I'm really excited for the future phones. More and more models are with variable aperture. About the 13 ultra accessories - well, welcome to 2013 and Nokia 1020 all over again 😂. But the 1020 camera grip was also power bank too.
hey ben, it's always an enjoyment to watch your videos, looking forward if you can make a comparison between x6pro's hasselbald in pro mode vs 13U leica..great job always brother
I was surprised to see that Xiaomi downgraded sensor sizes of Ultra-Wide and 5X for 13 Ultra from 1/2.0" to 1/2.51, which is quite a big difference, when compared to 12 Ultra, actually even to 11 Ultra.
Don't worry about the effect getting worse, because the aperture becomes larger, so the amount of light entering is also larger. The reason why I choose imx858 is that I can't fit a bigger cmos inside and imx858 is the latest generation of Sony. It can work better with imx989 than imx586
@@dylanwang647 It definitely makes it come complete and up to date package, but as seen in the video, Ultra-wide video quality is definitely worse, especially in not so great lightining conditions, no matter the aperture.

Hi Ben, Is this much better than the Vivo X90 Pro Plus as far as photos in dark environments? Also what camera flash does it use? I wished the powerful superior Xenon flash would make a comeback.
Great intro, thanks! So, there's no macro (close-up focusing) support on Ultra's tele lenses? Or just not yet? The Pro supports 10cm close focus on its 75mm lens.
@@bensgadgetreviews Thanks for confirming! That makes the Pro the only choice for the macro folks then... no idea why they all put macro capabilities on the wide angle.
