  • I've got three mowers to pick up this week, and when I get them home, I'll give you a brief run down of how much they're worth
    Welcome to Garage Story!
I'm in the business of hunting up old lawn mowers and other small machines, and either parting them out, or fixing them up and selling them for profit. Come along for the ride with my weekly vlogs, and how-to videos.

The push mowers , running, are worth 100-200 or more. They’re easy to fix with minimal cost. I do it all the time.

I think most of the push mowers I have are older cheaper ones, unfortunately. Or broken badly….

I am 13 and I have pursed my part it out four mowers each one taking about three hours and I will say it is a great side hustle and easy to do with minimum tools

I just cleaned out a old farmhouse and ended up with 5 riding mowers, 1 was an vintage Sears, pretty cool. Now just trying to see whats best, they all are pretty rough, and have been sitting. Wanting to part them out

Parting out may be the best option! It does take some work though.

Depending on what it is, you might be able to make more off of parting it out instead of buying a deck and selling it whole. Of course you could always just wait till you get a parts mower with a good deck! And the third option would be to weld the deck up.
Nice to see someone else in Oklahoma!

You sold the motor on eBay? How do you ship a motor, seems like it would be tough to ship.

I usually make a small deck/frame out of wood that I mount the engine to. Then I put it all inside a cardboard box (double wall) with some packaging around the sides and top. I build the frame to fit snugly inside the box. It keeps the crank shaft from poking a hole in the bottom and also helps keep the engine from moving around.
