  • PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION - This canvas painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this beautiful landscape portrait image of "PARIS VIEW" with an energetic feel and realistic look to it. What comes to mind when you think of Paris? The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Musee d'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, Montmartre, Sacre-Coeur, Champs Elysees, Moulin Rouge, Macarons, The Da Vinci Code, Claude Monet, Bistros, French Fries, French Kiss, fashion, the list is endless and there is no right or wrong answer, but whatever popped into your head, we can all agree that this notorious French city is a very popular romantic tourist destination and on most people’s bucket list. And just because you might not be able to go right now, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy creating your own image of this beloved destination. While following this simple art tutorial, you’ll learn to paint this captivating Parisian landscape portraiture with a distant city skyline that has depth, contrast and brilliant natural colors, creating a stunning and vibrant scenery painting. The first lesson you’ll learn in this acrylic instruction is how to paint atmospheric dimension in the background using color theory to mix custom colors and then you’ll combine a loose stippling blending technique with dabbing and swirling brushstrokes to create your clear sky and bright foliage in the park to set the stage for the perfect day in Paris. The next step to this canvas painting is to add the Eiffel Tower off in the distance surrounded by the enchanted city, which will be done using an impressionistic style for the buildings, perfect for creating the look of this iconic symbol without worry about fine detail. Continuing on in this beginner level tutorial, you’ll then learn how to paint an open and inviting rustic looking wooden window with a sheer curtain that overlooks the summer European Parisian scene. After drawing an outline and applying a base coat as a foundation to your female figure, you’ll use simple painting techniques to add color contrast, as well as highlights and shadows, to bring the proportions and form of her dress, body shape and scarf shall to life with a 3-d photo realistic quality. Following the instructions, you could easily change the color of her outfit, and have her wearing jeans, shorts, a shirt, or even a hat. You could take these instructions and change the background entirely-make it a sunset or sunrise painting and add a sun setting behind some mountains or, make it more of a flower painting and have her overlooking a lush flower garden field, or turn it into a seascape painting and have her overlooking an ocean. You could also use this simple painting acrylic lesson as a guide for using other mediums and you could turn this into an oil painting, a watercolour painting, or even an abstract painting. Using only 3 brushes and 8 colors we'll create this conversational masterpiece that is sure to compliment any décor. Not just a beautiful painting, but an easy painting for beginners. So, let's get painting and let's get sipping!

    Hello Michelle,
This is such a beautiful painting.
I love the fact that you are making paintings for us that are more complex, or not really complex because you actually make all the paintings very doable. I should say with more to do in them. I like that very much.
It's a beautiful work of art.
Thank you for being you and being here for all of us. ⚘️👩‍🌾

Big thanks to your tutorials. With your ability to teach, I can't believe I am doing what I do. My adult girls love them n my grankids embarrasse me with their compliments.
They want to know why I didn't do this when I was younger. But I guess with 6 children there was never the time. Unfortunately now I am battling C in double places I have time hoping to delay the disease taking control. So thankyou its filling in much of my time. 💕💞

Hi Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear that you are battling the big C. I had my journey with it almost 18yrs ago and know first hand how scary it can be. You sound like a very strong woman who will fight and not let it win. It makes my heart happy that you are using painting with me to take your mind out of some of those dark moments. Your family sounds wonderful and very appreciative that you are creating art as well. Thank you for sharing your story and keep painting! Hugs from my easel to yours, Michelle

Good evening Michelle, sorry but I'm Portuguese and since I speak and write the basics in English so I used google translator to ask you a question that intrigued me. I really appreciated your work and I tried to copy (hope you don't mind) because I'm a beginner in acrylic painting and these paint mixtures are something magical for me, conclusion nothing turned out as I would have liked and everything was in darker tones and to annoy me more the paint dried too fast...the question I wanted to ask you was if you put any other product on the canvas or the paints before mixing them as you did on the pallet so that we could see...the paints yield and yield in yours hand... what's your secret? That's if you want to share, because I don't intend to devalue anyone or their works, and yours is really a work of art. Thanks and sorry. Continuation of good paintings and a hug from Portugal !!!

This is stunning! Michelle, I have one question. Below her breast area...? I can't tell if that's meant to have her twisted to show some waist line or not. Would it make sense to carve that in a bit? I'm not an artist like you so I'm literally asking a very honest question just as an observer

Hi Georgie, Yes, I tweaked her posture a little so her midsection may be skewed to counteract the arch in her back, but you could certainly pull it in a little if you want her waste to look thinner, but be careful how much you pull it in, because you could run the risk of making her look like she's leaning forward. Have fun painting, Michelle
