I'm surprised chocolate didn't make the list. That has always been #1 on our list of dangerous foods for dogs, and not just because of the "more for me" mentality.
My beagle ate a piece of Hershey kisses behind my mom's back. He just pooped it out the next day. Chocolates could kill dogs on large consumption, but it's still best not to feed them.
Yes! Please do make a Part 2. I’m on my fourth beagle. And looking back I know I did a lot of wrong things back in the 90s that probably caused my Sadie to die at a young age. And then with the next two I didn’t realize grapes & raisins were harmful to my beagles… I used to let them have some every time I eat them I want to make sure I do the right thing for my new one year-old pup so he can live a long, healthy life. 🐶
My first beagle liked grapes. I would freeze them and give it to him. It wasn't a regular thing but he did develop chronic kidney disease when he got older and he was a picky eater and didn't like dog food so that made things worse. He did live up to 9 years old despite his condition, but am thinking he could have lived longer had we fed him more carefully. I have a second beagle now and is more careful about what he eats.
@@jacquie.ec.2012 I don't even buy grapes for myself because one might fall on the floor and Hunter might grab it before I can retrieve it. I once gave him a small taste of carrot cake without realizing there were raisins in it. I called our Pet emergency clinic. They said a couple raisins will usually not cause any issues, but to watch him. He was fine. But now I'm very careful about raisins too. He gets peanut butter cookies. I checked the ingredients and they are all OK. But he won't eat peanut butter. If i put it in a toy, he won't touch it.
I used to let my dog eat chili whenever I made it and she absolutely loved it. Then I found out it had onion and garlic powder in the mix and I had to nix that right quick. Now Ill just get my dogs a rotisserie chicken from the store and just strip it and feed them...but not after I remove the skin and bones from the meat.
Yes please make it part 2 this is my second beagle my first beagle lived to be almost 15 but I know I made mistakes. My new beagle is only three and I would like for her to outlive me
Glad to know that I was aware of most of these but raw potato was new to me. We have rarely given this to ours, but we will never again. Please do a part 2, really want to know what I don't know.
Ace, thw elder if my 2 beagles (Ace -14.5, and Baxter 7)has had a cough for almost a year, granted a he is bit overweight, and almost 15, but otherwise very happy and healthy. The vet hasn't been able to do anything other than suggest a treatment. (Not his normal vet). Through research, and a variety of failed alternatives to help cure or ease his cough, I'm down to my last known, possible cause being coleus plants. Although he hasn't been seen eating the plant material, he has been eating alot of dirt in various places including planters. The dirt in them could possibly contain fallen leaves that were mixed into the soil. Keep our beagles happy! Ace, Baxter, and Jay.
Yes! Please do make a Part 2 I want to make sure I do the right thing for my beagle so he can live a long, healthy life we all want our beagles to safer & healthier life. 🐶
Congratulations! We just got ours a couple of weeks ago. Be prepared for a small bundle of energy that’s teething & has very very sharp teeth. I’m still trying to figure out how something so adorable can be so vicious (he thinks he’s playing). I definitely suggest lots of chew toys so hopefully you won’t become one too 🤣 like we are.
Congrats! Beagles are stubborn, energetic, and mischievous. But that doesn't mean they are untrainable. As long as they are trained from an early age they can be taught anything
my beagle once ate 15 grapes by mistake and had to do so much medication ty for sharing this video it really helps but isnt chocolate poison too? the vet said so and tomato seeds?
Didn't know about raw potato.... thanks for letting me know...as we have been giving him raw potato as he loves it. But from now on that's a big no for him. Thanks a ton
Hi Beagle Care. What kind of WORMER do you give your Beagle? and how much would you give a 26lbs Beagle. Also What if ever have you done about Stomach Bloat? I am not sure if my Beagle has Worms or Bloat.
I always go broad spectrum dewormer. I want to be sure I get all the different kinds of worms especially if they are At risk for worms because even if they eat fleas the fleas can contain the worm eggs And mine often get mice or other small mammals that can carry worms. Veterinary care is best to know for sure what type of worms but not everyone has money for that. I would think if they are bloated since this post its a worm problem but hard to say since i don't know much about bloat. Dr. Jones on UA-cam is a vet from Canada who teaches Natural remedies for lots of things and gives good advice. As for worms not sure. Haven't seen him do a video on that so far, but haven't seen them all. Good luck.
Onions and garlic Coffee and Tea Sugar free food items Grapes and raisins Salt Seeds and pits of fruit Alcohol beverages Raw potatoes Lemon and Lime Raw dough
Many reputed pet blogs like PetMD and AKC suggest that garlic is toxic for dogs. www.petmd.com/dog/nutrition/can-dogs-eat-garlic www.akc.org/expert-advice/nutrition/can-dogs-eat-garlic/ However some vets and sources also suggest that it's healthy. One of them being www.volharddognutrition.com/blog/busting-the-myth-of-garlic-toxicity-for-dogs/ If you ask me, I would say why take any chances!
My beagle grabbed a chicken drumstick out of my daughter's hand. She chewed and swallowed it so quickly, I couldn't even get a piece away from her. Luckily, it didn't seem to have any effect, but we were pretty scared for a while. We talked to the vet so we knew what to look for if something went wrong.
My Sasha loves mango 🥭 smoothies. We drink them together sometimes. She loves my strawberry Gelato. Of course I let her have bites she wants the entire container. This is the expensive Gelato.
CHOCOLATE is a BIG no-no. Most dogs are unable to break down Theobromine which is in chocolate. It is toxic to the liver if not metabolised. Consider ingestion an emergency and get veterinary advice and intervention as quickly as possible. Humans can usually metabolise theobromine efficiently, and some dogs can break it down enough to not become acutely ill. Theobromine is in particularly high levels in dark chocolate, but is also in milk chocolate in lower levels. Theobromine causes dogs to have hyped behaviour & a racing heart like humans get if they overdose on coffee. Much worse though is the potential for irreversible, fatal liver failure once theobtomine is absorbed into the system from the stomach. This is why you don't wait for symptoms show before getting veterinary help. Chocolate's other problem ingredients are sugars and fats. These cause chronic disease over time due to obesity and stressed organs: diabetes, kidney issues, heart issues.... Also, acute and painful illnesses like pancreatitis may develop. Never deliberately feed your dog chocolate; and if your dog has done a chocolate raid, definitely don't wait for symptoms to show before getting help.
Nooo, please don't. Pizza crusts often contain dangerous ingredients like herbs, onions, and garlic. And even if it doesn't it has little to non nutritional value for your beagle.
There's a manic on this website who blows pot smoke at his dog he claims is Beagles enjoys being stoned? Can you believe that? Some people do not deserve to have a dog.
Check out Sangfroid kennel in Pune. It is really worth going that distance. I am saying from first hand experience. I live in Mumbai too but we got our beagle pup from this breeder just 3 days before 2020 lockdown. No complaints
I wish I knew this earlier :( I fed my previous beagle 120 grams of salt and 25 grams of onion powder mixed in with 12 oz of water to help their digestion

Chocolate can only kill dogs if they eat a lot. Dogs have a really strong stomach so a little piece wouldn't harm them if you dropped a piece
@@cocopops8992 with milk chocolate that may be the case, but other types of chocolate are very toxic.

best rule of thumb, do feed beagles people food. dried dog food is best, as a treet mix the dog food with some warm water to make a little gravy.
