The only thing harder to drive that manual steering is power steering that doesn't work. Did it for about 10 years on my former Jeep. Too cheap to get it fixed
No offense, there isn’t a better off road driver than Rory, but the camera man (most likely Mike) can be seen pointing/spotting at 5:35. These guys have a ridiculous amount of trust in one another.
The green fuzzy fur was a spectacal to behold... I think it's a go for Trail Mater. Come on Rory, you know you want to do it. That was an awesome episode, so glad spring is here, blue skies and dry rocks. Great filming, and as always, thank you for taking us along.
I wouldn't discribe that WJ as anywhere near stock. Looks like 6"+ of lift, on long arms, and a number of other mods. Given the spare being on the rear hatch, I'd expect to see a tank tuck(deleting the spare tire well, with a custom fuel tank skid, gains a good 8" of clearance behind the rear axle. With such significant mods, odd to see stock axles(front at least, although it is the rear D35/D44(special one only used in WJ's and Dodge Vipers), that's known to be the weak axle given the WJ's weight.
Rory is the true beast/marvel of Moab as seen during EJS. Not only did he do the 'UA-camr-run' to Hells Gate and Meet'N Greet. But multiple recoveries also. All of that with a HUGE smile.
I love watching you operate your wrecker up and down those mountains with cars behind . It seems you know every inch of the trails . Chris , and Shawn , Mike all make a great team .
Best moments of the week: Trail Mater videos! "many stuffed animals died to make this roof liner" LOL! That was epic, lol. Dang Rory, your girl knows her stuff! Thank you for taking the time to make the videos, hugs from Belgium to all of you.
Another sweet recovery. Like the editing when you can see Shawn hanging the camera out the door and then we get a nice segue to see exactly what he was shooting. Man I love those perfect blue skies, too! As an owner of telescopes, I wish we had them here.
The capability of the drivers and the vehicles cannot be questioned, but the standard of filming and editing on this channel gets better all the time. And, of course, Mike's 'rock-adding' skills!
It's amazing how much this channel has improved as it goes. Great communications, commentary, and even better shots. (Thanks Mike) Keep up the hard work, and as always, Thanks for bringing us along.
The King and the Queen Living the Dream In a land of Dearth and Strife Flying along on their Magic Carpets With the Princes along for the ride Took me two posts but I got it! Congratulations on another unbelievable show. Long Live the King!
Nice recovery Rory!! You, shawn and Mike are a great team!! That was a bit of a gnarly trial. You did a great job getting the Jeep out of that place. Looks like that guy is going to be needing some suspension work!!! LOL!!
I love the technical parts of Rory having spotters get the dead vehicle to just the right point. All of them working together are like a well oiled machine.
When I watch these videos, I wince every time I see Trail Mater bash or smash into some nearly unachievable obstacle, and she just keeps on plowing through. It's pretty impressive to see how well she takes it all in stride and is able to stay in one piece. Any modern truck would be scrap if they tried to wheel like this on a daily basis. Guess that's what keeps her and Blue in business.
Hey Guys !!! Look at 10.02 in the video & look at that front axle when it hits the rock on the rightside !!!! Shows how much it jumps out of line to get over the climb !!! Great recovery as Always !! Chris did a very good job of driving !! 🙃😉🤔🙄👍👍👍👍👍
........G'day Rory team, the madness of some of those ledges are something else. Great skills people. Thanks for allowing us to watch. Cheers, Malcolm.
This is by far THE most entertaining content to me on UA-cam!! As a Utahn that takes my daughters to Moab with some of my favorite life memories there I jsut love this content and the amazing driving and recovery expertise or Rory and the team is top notch!! Also I didn’t realize she was driving at first! Bad ass! Good job!!!! Keep up the good work and congrats on the comming success on UA-cam! Don’t change a thing!
Team work all around. Shawn’s driving, Mike’s rock stacking, camera work and tour guide skills and Rory’s great driving ability makes for another great video!
How many stuffed animals will it take to do Trail Maters head liner?!?! 💚 Great to see Chis out there just rollin along the trail!! Another great job filming Mike, and Shawn is the man controlling rig out the trail!!
I am just amazed everytime your crew goes out on a trail and brings back a broke down Jeep and makes it look so....... what word am I looking for oh yes "bad ass"!! Very entertaining!
Hello Chris, Shawn, Mike and Rory too... Looks like Trail Mater decided to show you who's boss... no winch support for her today 🙂 the camera angles on "No Left Turn" was awesome today... WOW😉 Getting better each time 🙂 I may have to start a group to "Save Trail Mate from Fuzzy Green Stuff" 😂🤣😂 wow that right front corner sure was loose 🙂 Another example of GREAT TEAMWORK and wonderful communication along the way, even without headphones 🙂 Hopefully Matt is watching and "learning" the tips 🙂
Super recovery! Where's the disco ball🤣! It's awesome watching you navigate those shifters Rory. As always you guys rocked on No left turn. Thank you for sharing💚❣️
Rory, the capabilities of Trail Mater and your driving and spotting skills never cease to amaze me! Also, Sean and Mike are so good together with you as a team. Again, great videography that highlights the beauty of your "office"! Great job guys.
Mike was doing some hustling on this one. Super Shaun in the casualty. And of course Rory and Kris doing some awesome driving. Nice work getting it out.
You guys are awesome! Thanks for another cool recovery. Might I request an episode of the Shawn and Mike Show? You know, shenanigan's, scenery, comedy, mindless trivia and facts all while trailin' some place cool
I would BET many tourists and Utah locals alike secretly hope they have to be recover-rescued by Rory and Crew on camera. It would be like them having recorded highlights of their most recent vacation to show their family, friends, coworkers, strangers at the grocery store... :)
Hope you’re doing okay Rory you seem a little down! But still are doing great work , so if you’re getting a little burnt out go take a nice vacation you truly deserve it as you’ve been nonstop for so long now! It’s time to treat yourself for once with something that will bring you peace and joy! One love Rory!
Good job trailer pullers. That is some cool looking rock formations around there. Reminds me of my spiritual dreams. Thanks for the tour. Glad you all got back safely. Take care all.🤟🏽👍🏽🤘🏾😊😎🙏🏽🤚🏽.
The recoveries have to be heck of expensive. That is major wear and tear on those axles, drive shaft, and transmission. The recovery team is probably burnt out at the end of the day from climbing and walking
Thanks for this one. I enjoyed watching it. I especially like seeing how you get through variuos difficult parts of these trails. It helps me to learn where NOT to take my stock Bronco Sasquatch.
Howdy Rory!!! Y'all do such an amazing job rescuing vehicles from those GNARLEY TRAILS!! Right crew, Right equipment for the job (& nice to have Chris there for backup!!) Shawn and WisconsinMike have really been getting the cinematic shots lately! Kudos to both!! Safe travels, friends... Stay FROSTY... Keep your powder dry and your head on a swivel... 🇺🇸🇺🇸WWG1WGA🇺🇸🇺🇸NCSWIC🇺🇸🇺🇸
Man thanks for letting me and my wife hang out with you for a minute. Your truly a nice guy. Got to meet shawn. Yall were busy so i didn't get a chance to talk to mike but yall are great.
Every time I think I've seen the gnarliest trail, you up the ante. That trail you went up on this recovery had some serious ledges. You did handle them like a champ but they are not for the feint of heart and serious crawlers only.
This channel is quickly becoming one of my favorite 4 x 4 channels, no goofy graphics no hot chicks for clicks no fancy brand new Rigs just a bad ass old square body tow truck, YJ a JK and some great driving , beautiful views and great guys.
One of the things I love about your channel here Rory the areas you go to rescue off-road vehicles that are stuck you have some beautiful scenery I mean look at those mountains in the background that is beautiful .
We vacationed in Utah a few years ago and did a Jeep ride with a tour group. It is a blast watching how skilled you are, and how knowledgeable you are on the hills!!
Nice work!
Can Matt's worlds largest offroad wrecker from @Matt's Off Road Recovery go down that trail ??? Trailmaters thoughts ??
Hello Matt
Great to see all the support! Love Matt’s channel! 👍👍
Matt, did you see how Rory knew a flaw and planned for it? Just saying..... (RAMPS)
another great job, Shawn is a hero in my eyes. No power steering, no power brakes, and just keep smiling.👍
And Mike ~ best scenery photog and rock wrangler extraordinaire.
@@periwinkle-dragonfly And Mike climbs all those obstacles on foot. I bet his leg muscles are in great shape.
Navajo power.
The only thing harder to drive that manual steering is power steering that doesn't work. Did it for about 10 years on my former Jeep. Too cheap to get it fixed
I mean maaan, 5:25-6:20 was some of the best driving I have ever seen. No spotter no support just pure skill every inch.
If we were playing this as a game, with all views of the rig available, I doubt we could do it better. He just blows my mind sometimes.
Shawn looks pretty cool driving the grinch mobile
No offense, there isn’t a better off road driver than Rory, but the camera man (most likely Mike) can be seen pointing/spotting at 5:35. These guys have a ridiculous amount of trust in one another.
At 5:40 I was holding my tight to my chair! Some serious trust and knowledge there!
Sometimes I worry about Rory and Shawn on those sheer cliffs. Mike will be fine - cameraman never dies. 🙂
Shawn, the master of driving unpowered vehicles through the rocks!
Another outstanding recovery by the Trail Mater Team and newest member.
The green fuzzy fur was a spectacal to behold... I think it's a go for Trail Mater. Come on Rory, you know you want to do it.
That was an awesome episode, so glad spring is here, blue skies and dry rocks. Great filming, and as always, thank you for taking us along.
Want to do my headliner 😁
Come on, you know Trail Mater is all function no flash😂
I second that, Trail Mater needs some fluorescent green troll hair headliner!
Still amazes me what these vehicles are capable of. Awesome job Rory 😎
It's not just the size of your "tool" that matters, it's knowing how to use it. 😉
gears & lockers..mainly..
@@ravenbarsrepairs5594 NOT to mention that piece of $#it has been trashed on hard for a long time with no love!
Rory is like Ice Cube, hitting the 3 wheel turn 🤘😂🤘
Rory is the true beast/marvel of Moab as seen during EJS. Not only did he do the 'UA-camr-run' to Hells Gate and Meet'N Greet. But multiple recoveries also. All of that with a HUGE smile.
And your guys are just as capable, joyful.... and cracy😂
That fuzzy interior brought back memories of Dumb & Dumber! Great rescue!
It’s just like watching an ARTIST while Rory picks the way through, over, around, and on these trails that are gnarlysnarly ! NICE.
I love watching you operate your wrecker up and down those mountains with cars behind . It seems you know every inch of the trails . Chris , and Shawn , Mike all make a great team .
Yet another example of a successful recovery from the professional ranks of a man myth an a legend Rory an his tool of choice trail mater .
All that featherfoot action AND with a manual. Nuts.

"it's like a stuffed animal glued to your roof." 🤣 Mike has the best one-liners. We need more Hillbilly content.
I think the Mike/Shawn show has a channel called Dirtbilly Delux
The capability of the drivers and the vehicles cannot be questioned, but the standard of filming and editing on this channel gets better all the time. And, of course, Mike's 'rock-adding' skills!
Met Michael at your Meet n Greet during EJS. He is a great camera guy for your team. Good thing he can run!!
Am going to say it again, Rory is the rock whisperer. Not to mention the boss man who helps all those in the events he attends. Go Irish!
Your truck + your skill has a driver + your team = hard core situations and excellent recovery and a lot’s good moments Bravo ! 11/10.
Amazing how a couple of rocks placed here and there makes a huge difference
This channel is going to grow...because you all work hard, play hard, add some humor and let it all show.
Mike really makes these ones go smoother, no getting out to stack rocks, he's already on it.
WOW! First 8 minutes going in are very impressive, and, then the recovery. Rory calls it a couple of rock stacks. What a team!
INsane!!...Let's be totally honest...This is the BEST recovery channel on YT..PERIOD..!!.. Plus spray paint suspension..hahah
It's amazing how much this channel has improved as it goes. Great communications, commentary, and even better shots. (Thanks Mike) Keep up the hard work, and as always, Thanks for bringing us along.
Also, the great nature lessons! Save the endangered Rock-Peckers! 😂

Shawn and Mike, camera cuddle. Great shots!
What a recovery! I kept thinking that the whole front end of that Jeep was going to rip right off!
Same.. it didn't want to roll over anything..
Dragging dead ass weight is a chore - but TrailMater makes it look sooo freakin easy. Well done Rory!
Nice recovery Rory!! You, shawn and Mike are a great team!! That was a bit of a gnarly trial. You did a great job getting the Jeep out of that place. Looks like that guy is going to be needing some suspension work!!! LOL!!

Great job try Rory, Shawn and Mike. Thks kris for camera crew / support backup. 🤙😎
From the condition of that jeep I'm surprised more parts didn't fall off as you were towing it !
Nice recovery 👍
Rory: between Shawn and Mike, you have the best support team and thank you to Chris as well!
Trail Mater crew (all of you)...OUTSTANDING VIDEO!
Really cool seeing what improper suspension geometry (anti dive) can do...
When I watch these videos, I wince every time I see Trail Mater bash or smash into some nearly unachievable obstacle, and she just keeps on plowing through. Rusty Spike is GNARLY AF!! Another good recovery fellas, that jeep was toasted.
Oh wow this was a tough recovery with this broken Jeep. Chris does amazing at navigating behind Rory in trail mater. This team is awesome!
Thanks for sharing the ride with us !!!
My favorite orange YJ…and person!! A shovel & rock expert…way to go Mike!
I'm old at 61, but, part of my Bucket List is to make it out your way some day. I've watched every video since Matt's ORR introduced me to ya'll...

You need the fuzzy green décor on the ceiling of the wrecker.
The tennis ball headliner
Love the yelled instructions to Shawn! Nothing like Rory driving two vehicles at once! ( did you forget the headsets lads??)
Geez you guys ! Great teamwork and skill ! You can sure say “ that’s not something you see everyday “ for %99.9 of the world

YOUR THE KING OF MOHAB!! You need to go do a Trail mater Vs..!!! WHOEVER!!!! Absolutely awesome.!!!!
You ROCK Mike!!! 😆
Good job trailer pullers.
That is some cool looking rock formations around there.
Reminds me of my spiritual dreams. Thanks for the tour.
Glad you all got back safely.
Take care all.🤟🏽👍🏽🤘🏾😊😎🙏🏽🤚🏽.
I cringed at 10:35 - I though the front axle was coming off for sure
Never disappointed in your recoveries! Thank you for sharing and looking forward to the next one!
Mike is Hilarious its like a green furry stuffed animal for a headliner 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Dinasaur tracks🤣🤣 I believe you Mike
Lol all of a sudden Trail Mater plays nice when he knows he's about to look like a fool on camera having to use another vehicle as a winch anchor lol.
Love when that big block says "nah, ya comin with me"
