The drummer was the late and great Joey Jordison! You can easily go down the rabbit hole watching his performances! He is one of the best drummers who has played and may be the best metal drummer ever!
Joey was Great Phenomenal even. But you should Mentioned the Late Great Shawn Crahan/Clown. All of their Best friends Joey said it. This lovable guy everybody loves clown. Especially the ladies. Lol

first tool, now slipknot??? This dude cracked the algorithm code knowing metal heads have always wondered what black people would think about this music. You're a youtube genius.
All you really need to see is the one fan who has his head pulled to the singer, sweat and all, with a unique understanding of the music. It's eternal love.
People sometimes take the opening line of this song too literally. If you’ve ever had a migraine light kills you with pain and for me if I close my eyes and put slight pressure on you eyelids it gives you some relief. This video was shot at a fan’s home and the record label had to rebuild this family’s home for them. People see the masks and they sometimes don’t take the time to understand the lyrics. They wire the masks because they wanted to be about the music and not them.
@0:07 I am a hip-hop fan for life, but I also started as a metal head. I am currently and will always be both. There is greatness on that journey my friend... lots of deep rabbit holes to drill down. Wait till you reach "Avant-Garde" status on both! Music will never be the same in a great and amazing way homie!
You guys are setting me up........... with one of the biggest and best metal bands in history. Great reaction bro. Keep listening to Slipknot. They are legendary.
They filmed this video in their hometown in Iowa. A fan told slipknot they could destroy his house because he was going to remodel it. The band invited their fans to be in the video. Slipknot gave the homeowner $50k to help with the remodeling 😂
One of my favorite bands. RIP Joey and Paul. JJ is regarded as the greatest metal drummer of all time in my book. Their lead singer Corey Taylor. Multi talented. Has a solo act and another band. Each member's mask represent something about their personality. Every single one of them have been through something tragic in life. Lyrics mean a lot. This band probably has saved many lives. ❤
They wore the masks to be anonymous. On earlier albums they were called number one number two. Etc. They said they were all equally pieces of ahitb this band is fcking awesome and my grave bands are Rush and tool but slipknot deserves a lot of respect
slipknot was the first heavy band i got into bein a kid from detroit... it wasnt common and but i can say they're music did save me at times, they have always been down to earth and genuine they talked about the band being the outlet for voices never heard and sharing that with other people life experiance, struggle, failed society etc, and especially for them the 2 albums are a level of anger, distain, and pure emotion that i dont think could ever be recreated in my life time ( also side note in this video it was shot in they're home town des moines iowa and had an exclusive ad to locals to come to the location for a free concert and to be in the video, they rented the house with a promise to keep it clean... they tried lmaooo)
Great content! On a roll right now flipping through his reactions!! Upon watching this one, to an absolute banger of a song, it had been the 6th time I had thought my smoke alarm's battery was dying lol.
To explains the masks, members of slipknot roatate in and out. Pretty much all of them are more known for their roles in other bands, and when the project started, they decided to make their masks to both cover their identities, and so that the project to excell on its own merits as opposed to "hey, have you heard of so and sos new band?". They dont hide their identities with much real effort, as nowadays, and even around when they first started coming out their names were somewhat easy to find. Every member has their own mask. In regards to slipknot, check out Custer, and Frail Limbs Nursery+Purity. In regards to other rock/metal, PLEASE listen to some System of a Down. The temptation is to start with chop suey, their most popular song, but i recommend either going with BYOB, Revenga, Cigaro, or Sugar.
You WILL become a rock/ metal head. Thats where all good music leads to. The talent taken to produce good metal music takes the worlds finest musicians.
I really appreciate that you respectfully declined to add it to the playlist haha. Fun reaction man! Slipknot is a fun band to bump into for the first time.
Look up the lyrics. Play it again just the song then read it as you hear it. The more you hear it the more energy you feel. It was on my play list. There was work out days that lasted a few hours and once I got home the next day it was hard to go into work the extra day. Slipknot, system of a down, rage against the machine, dethklok, korn, Metallica and so many others. If I get back to it my weight would drop fast.
don't be a baby! you need MORE Slipknot! Spit it out live is a reactors dream. Psychosocial is a must! Deep cuts would be Virus of Life if you want something very dark and twisted :)
My first song from slipknot... 20 years ago... damn im old Edit: its a introduction. This song is for riding or driving.. in sand dunes. Woohoo hold on. We will have landed by the time you figure it out.
Definitely check out Unsainted. Snuff live. Before I Forget. Dead Memories. Vermillion pt 2. They're one of the greatest metal bands out there. But I could be biased as I'm from Iowa. 😆
Replace the battery in your fire alarm dawg. If you ignore that til it goes quiet you fixing to die in your sleep in a housefire. Love your content, funny as hell, you're a boss. Keep the content coming! Liked and subscribed dawg!
Check out MASTODON! Prog Metal is a different feeling. As much as you enjoy drums...Mastodon definitely has a unique sound. Three of the 4 band members sing, often at different times (sometimes all together)... Hits different.
Bro literally all metal drummers can do what Neil peart did. The skill is there for a lot. Maybe a little practice for what the drums are in relation to a specific style but honestly Neil just had a big kit for me the ultimate drummer is Chris Turner. Whatch his playthrough of high horse with his band oceans are Alaska
You should check out Insomnium. Powerful lyrics mindblowing melodic death metal. The kinda shit you should put on when your going through an existential crisis. Helped me thru some dark times when i had several critical family members pass away.
This video was filmed in a fan’s house. After the destruction, the band paid for the repairs. Also, if you think this video is strange, check out their video for The Devil in I. Awesome song and super creepy video 👍
you should look up the story behind the music video. if I remember correctly that's a house that belongs to a fan that was gonna get remodeled and they offered it to the band to make the video. those are real fans trashing a real house
You should definitely check out Avenged Sevenfold-Bat Country. I’d kill to see your reaction to that. It’ll blow your mind and I’d bet it’ll make your jam list.
"Before I Forget," and "Unsainted," are great as is "Psychosocial." There is another song which goes off called, "The Devil in I," but the video is...well, its fucking horrifying so I don't recommend it. If you want to do that one just get an unofficial lyrics-only video and do that without watching the official one. Unless, of course, you like disturbing imagery and gore, then you do you. Everything in a Slipknot song is about mental health. For example, the line about, "You can't kill what you did not create," is talking about how difficult it is to get over shit other people have done to you. Like, if you look in the mirror and see someone who is fat or ugly, its just you doing that, and you can always get your head straight and "kill" those thoughts. But if you're walking down the street and some chick walking by makes a negative comment about your appearance, then that shit will stay with you even if you know that bitch was just being hurtful...thus, "You can't kill what you did not create." The masks are meant to replicate the oftentimes horrifying parts of your subconscious which are within you and doing all sorts of damage to your self-image or your peace. The masks and costumes are also there so that the audience focuses on the band instead of the individual performers.

Speaking of doing something. Please change the battery in your smoke detector. 😂 Great reaction!
Lol, I thought it was mine at first
The song is about the Duality…or the dichotomy, of living in both pain and healing. It’s usually related to being in a toxic relationship.
“He look like he been burnt before” cracked me up lol. Checkout Before I forget by them. It’s another banger.
It's even funnier when you remember that Clown has set himself on fire during their shows before
Please try Slipknot again! You will LOVE these songs
- Before I Forget
- Dead Memories
- Nero Forte
- Psychosocial
And Wait and Bleed by them.

Judith!
There was an open call. ALL THESE people showed up. Destroyed the house and the band had to pay for after. They went WILD!
Actually a fan was planning to remodel his house. He told the band they could destroy his house. They gave the guy 50k to help remodel.
