Hi Liv, I love your down to earth videos yet youre killing it girl. Please do a video about brands that sell fast, and which category do you prefer to sell.
I used to have listing goals & honestly, as you said, I bought poor selling items and have at least 50 items over 3 years old. Changed my mindset this year and only list items that bring a higher sale price/profit. My turnover & profit is about the same but for a lot less work. Sourcing takes a little longer but now when i hear the cha ching, I know I am going to the post office and it is worth my petrol to get there!
I think it’s so important to have boundaries and guidelines to what we pick up. I know personally, sometimes I love an item and want to rehome it but I have to remind myself of my goals I’ve set! Same profit and less work is 👌🏼
Interested in what your average cog is? I’m guessing you don’t pick up anything from a $2 rack and sell it for $25? Also what’s”poor goods” to some isn’t to others.. not everyone on EBay is purchasing high end clothing second hand.. some people like the bread n butter princess highway, Decjuba etc.. like you said each to their own! Oh and I’d love to know the name of your store, thanks 😊
My COG vary- I went to a rummage a few weeks ago where I paid $3 per item but I also paid $150 for a dress in the same week. I generally don’t pick up items just because they are cheap- they have to meet my profit margin that I have set based on how I value my time- my time isn’t free so I want to make sure it’s worth the effort! I know a lot of people have successful high volume it stores and I did say that if it works for you that’s great- we all function differently. To me ‘poor goods’ are items have a terrible sell through rate- princess highway is a prime example. I had a look at the sell through rate for the dresses and its poor (3,500 listed & 900 sold). As pretty as their pieces are, I don’t want to be waiting a year for my item to be sold - I want a quicker turnover so I can take that profit and reinvest it in more items that will do the same! I want my dollars to make more dollars (ideally quickly!) Thanks for your comment :) I love constructive discussions!
I just love that feeling to send good items to homes, regardless of their prices. The joy is pretty much the same, but financially it’s very different obviously. With limited time I guess I have to find a balance, so I just do a little bit of both. I love the excitement when finding treasures, I also don’t mind taking $15 selling bread and butter items. Maybe I will change my perspective after few years just like you.
30% growth 🎉 way to go Liv!
Thanks Cass 💕💕💕
