One of the best human beings that's seating at the right side of the Almighty. Pure love and admiration. My dad showed me the difference of being an superb muscitian and a great person. I'm 70 and love to listen this music with my friends BUT all of them are dead now. Love and more love for Dave and thanks for my dad. ❤❤❤😂
Jynx MSC I'd strongly recommend Chopin. His melodies "kick in" best when travelling, especially when you have to leave home. Try Romance Larghetto. You can find it on Truman Show OST. 9 years ago it brought me to tears when I listened to it on a coach, leaving home for a year.
Chopin has had such a huge influence on all jazz pianists. I could only imagine what kind of music he would've created if he were around during the golden years of jazz.
This piece of art. Thank you Dave for "Thank You". All versions grandilocuent, superb, marvelous, fascinating for the ear, for the brain, for the soul.
Thank you is one of the most universally polite phrases in any language there is, and can be used with good affect and manners when entirely baffled about what else to say. Dziękuję
I read somewhere, that the back story was, when he was performing in Poland, the Poles were not allowed to clap…or smile… or show any appreciation. I READ that when he got home, he wrote this piece for them…
Perhaps it was. Although I have reasons to doubt it because at the end of the 50s in Poland the loosening of the communist screw began. Young people could do more. You know, from 1946 to 1956 Jazz was underground in Poland. He was talking about 1958, so it was the second year of Jazz's re-explosion in Poland. Around that time, Rock'n'Roll was born in Poland. 10 years later The Rolling Stones appeared in Warsaw. I personally guess it could have been a focus on the music rather than fear of overexpressing emotionally and the possible consequences for it. Young people in Poland at that time were hungry for the same as young people in America. Although we were a separate country (we were not part of the USSR!) russians tried to make us russians but it couldn't work. Firstly, we have different languages (very few similarities), secondly, the Russians are genetic slaves (and psychopaths, which can be seen especially today...) and the Poles are quite the opposite.

I wish such melodies came to my mind on train rides..

А играл ли так Горовец?! Теперь уже не помню. Горовеца я видела и слушала на расстоянии вытянутой руки. Браво! Маэстро!

Just to think that the music school he went to did not think he should graduate. People had to go argue the point and the school finally gave in.
Genius
