As soon I plugged mine into outlet they would start to blink fast so I held button down until they started to blink slowly and then held button down again until they blinked fast again and then I pressed confirm button for WiFi password and it finally connected!! Hope this helps some of y’all! 🤗✌🏼 also when you first click “add new device” make sure you select “lighting (WiFi)”

Omg it only took me about an hour or so to figure it out!! So you download the Monster app then click on the lighting wifi and it’s gonna ask to connect to your WiFi when pairing your lights and then go to your settings then click on wifi and it’s gonna show a WiFi connection call smart something with four numbers at the end and click on that when connecting to the WiFi (I forgot what it’s actually called) but it’s like a hot spot from the led strips! Then it should connect

Ok so basically if your wifi says 5ghz you have to change it to the one without 5ghz cause it doesnt work on 5ghz

Look up how to change 5 ghz to 2 ghz on google it took me about 20 mins to figure out how to change it
Is there anyway to hook it up without Wi-Fi or could I use the hotspot on my phone
If this method doesn’t work, try switching to “AP Mode” instead of the default “EZ mode”, (you’ll see it in the top right corner when you go to connect your device.) Might have to try a couple times but it definitely works. It’s the only way they can connect if you have a 5g or dual band router :)

Mine is blinking but when I go through the countdown from 0 to 100 after it says it won’t work
Try doing a hard reset on it. Unplug it then push the button till it's blinking again.
Getting My Tech On it still won’t work bc mine has the same problem what do I do now now :( ?!
When I had that issue, I just kept trying to set it up, (log out of account, reset lights, try connecting again) and it eventually worked. Make sure your WiFi is a 2.4 GHz otherwise it won't work.

For anyone still trying to get there’s to work I disconnected from my wi-if then reconnected and put in the password again and it worked
Try connecting with AP mode, it was much easier to do and faster than using the EZ mode. Ironic.

Do I have to have smart plug ins in order for this work. I've plugged them into a regular iPhone usb outlet and it just blinks. Tried to pair on the monster app and it says phone is not discovering. Also, can these be used on a TV. I have a Phillips smart TV and it won't blink when power is turned on
No you do not need a smart plug for this to work. That sucks that they aren't connecting, all I can suggest is making sure the apps are up to date and connecting them to a 2.4 GHz network. They seem to have a lot of issues lately so I would suggest if the problems continue to return the light strip. And yes they should work on a TV usb, one of my friends had it on a tv and worked for him. But if they don't work for you on a tv, just use a wall adapter.

I also had issues trying to connect.. here’s some things I figured out:
•moving closer to the router to increase your internet connections
•trying to connect with the “Geeni” App
•keep trying lol
But the most useful comment on here was “changing the port you used.” I changed my first port out with an apple charger, restarted the steps to connect and BAM! Connected!

My lights won't even turn on, I bought them, came home and got a charger. I put them in, they flicked on for half a second and then went dead, I can't find a way to fix it.

Hello, how do I make sure my wifi is 2.4GHZ?
On your WiFi router, it should say what band it is using. Most WiFi routers today have both 5GHz and 2.4GHz so you should good. When you connect to your WiFi, a dual band router would have 2 networks to connect to.

I'm sorry to hear that. When I had that issue, I just tried re connecting them and it was able to work. Try the blue Smart Life app instead. This lights strip has had a lot of issues lately so I would suggest returning them if they don't connect.
Can you help me? It doesn't want ro pair and only two bulbs of the strip are on or are mine broken😢
mine going in the bin, fussed with them for too long not able to connect, the 2.4ghz and an app and wifi thing is just dumb and uneccessary, should be just bluetooh with easy connection

To pair the lights, you need to use a 2.4GHz but you can use 5GHz on your device

When you go in your phone to connect to Wi-Fi, most modems have two points to connect to, this means that your modem is dual band and you have 2.4 gigahertz and 5 gigahertz. Connect to the one that is 2.4, it should just be your WiFi name without 5G after it.
What if you don’t have it
If it doesn't specify what frequency you have, just try connecting them and if it works then its 2.4. Most modems are going to have at least 2.4 so it hopefully should work.

I got it to work but then it went off and said my device is offline. How do I put it back online?
Whenever mine go offline, I just have to reset them up which sucks but it seems to work. So tap on the device in the app, then click the pencil icon, then scroll down to remove device. Then you just set it back up again. Hopefully this helps!

Try plugging up then les strip into the wall. An actual power outlet. I was trying and trying and about to give it up. Then the idea hit me that made the transmitter inside the gear is weak which is why they suggest doing it close to a router. My guess was USB ports don’t provide enough power to get it setup up. My led is now connected and I can perform all functions from my phone. If you are successful I wouldn’t suggest using the music feature. It caused a time out but I was able to unplug and reconnect to my computers usb and continue using it without a problem.

yes is is safe. the only reason it is asking for your location is for bluetooth connectivity.

Monster app wouldn't work for me. Downloaded the geeni app and it finally connected. Connect it on the manual setting, with slow blink. If you need to change yours from fast to slow blink, just hold button on strip for 5sec. Also might take a minute to show up on your wifi screen, both strips name started with smart/smartlife. Hope this helps! I was just about to give up lol

I think it’s because some of us don’t have the WiFi one we have the one with the remote
for those having trouble plug it into a OUTLET not a extension cord and it should work! :)

@@spookcraft2.025 I just tried it out and worked for me. The verification code goes through either your email or phone number, which ever you sign up through. Try doing the resend verification code if it doesn't come through at first. If the problem keeps up I would say return them. They seem to have a lot of issues lately. Hope this helps!
