Well that's because it's the original cantarella pv. The F2nd one that was ported in this was Grace Edition which is basically a whole new version of the song.
This is why F2nd is my fav, they just put so much damn effort into everything! New chance effects and camera angles and particles it's just so good ;_;

@Jan R the current assumption is that Sega is trying to move to Nintendo with project DIVA as Sony’s 10 year contract finally ended that effectively locked all main series PD titles to Sony’s consoles
Jan R Personally I’m only glad it got made because Ive never had a PS and only a ever Nintendo products. I always wanted to play project diva but I’m really pissed about all the missing songs and having to pay a fuck ton and way more than the game would have been on the PS
Luka Night Fever on Megamix is just like: **pink lense flare** **pink lense flare** Like yes, I definitely didnt want to see a queen slay to her song, only pink lights for me
i see lots of people absolutely shitting on the toon shader,, tbh i can't blame em but the toon shader is actually really good on some PVs like for example Catch the Wave or 39 Music or 1925 and imo Amatsu Kitsune as well when executed correctly, the toon shader looks really nice what's at fault here is Sega's laziness. -nothing new here-
i think the problem with the toon shader overall was the lack of effort put into it-- it doesn't have half of the textures in f2nd and the hair looks like plastic and it's very stiff-- and the modules in megamix rarely change expression and when they do it's kinda awkward;; but on the other hand some pvs like catch the wave, 39, 39 music, kakakuri pierrot and torino ko city look absolutely delightful!! it really is sad to see some of my favorite songs with such low quality PVs T_T some of them are decent but it really is a game changer when there's actual effort put into the toon shader and the PV itself
Yeah, the problem for me is that it’s only good on _some_ PVs. Most of the PVs don’t fit with the toon shader (especially Sadistic Music Factory and Hello Worker ugggghhh) and it’s just really depressing tbh :(
Reasons why Megamix sucks big time: 1. It's just a Switch port of Future Tone with mostly the same songs, new content only consists of 6 dance PVs songs (in which the motions were taken from Magical Mirai concerts, further contributing to laziness) and 1- I repeat, 1 new module. You'd think after 3 years of nothing, SEGA would've done something a bit bigger to bring people back into this game with refreshing, brand new content but they just said fuck it I guess. There's literally no reason why a PS4 owner would buy this game unless you have too much money to spend or want to play the game anywhere. I also understand that this game caters to Switch users and there's nothing wrong with that. I just feel you guys could've gotten a game with more effort put into it. 2. The toon shader is the default, permanent shader for the entire game and there's no option to change that. While I vehemently hate this shader, other people like it and it's not my business if people do. But we should've gotten the ability to change it if some don't like it. 3. As this video has graciously shown us, they have done nothing to upgrade the old, classic PVs. It's like they forgot that F2nd existed. Which is stupid since F2nd is by far the best game in the whole series personally for me. If they had included more content such as 30 new songs (which was what they always did for the older games), a whole bunch of new modules, I wouldn't have been so biased with this piece of shit "brand new" game
i got mega mix because i wanted to play it in school with my friends during break, school got canceled... okay well it also has new songs. which got put onto future tone like a few months later... the literal MAIN REASON i got mega mix was to play the new songs which soon got added to future tone. please anyone reading this, SAVE UR MONEY DO NOT BUY MEGA MIX IT IS NOT WORTH IT
Yh man I agree. I personally like the toon shader but the fact that they didn't retexture the models or fix the lighting was a bit... 😑 Essentially it ends up less 'toon' and more 'contrast 200'... Also, I see y a lot of the songs r old, ig for the 10th anniversary they wanted 'the best of miku 2010-now' or whatever and they put it on a new console so that new players can catch up with existing players and play their highlights of the series without needing a ps, but I can see y that's annoying to existing players cos,,,, that doesn't take any effort. It could have been a side project. Even so, I am glad we got something, but I feel bad admitting that cos ik that Nintendo owners finally getting a game is what rlly fucked over ps owners. I do hope they make a megamix 2nd that fixes graphics, allows u to switch shades/textures, and is released on both consoles with plenty of new songs. (probably won't happen tho) 😭
@@Yapuwfou You know what, tbh if Megamix had a lotta more content like new PVs for songs that haven't been included in the series yet, new modules and whatnot, I would have really considered buying a Switch. Not kidding, back in the 2010s I bought a PSvita just for the sake of playing the PDF which looked gorgeous and so polished to 13 yr old me. Seeing what this franchise has turned into makes me real sad, and some people have the guts to say I'm hateful and can't be happy for Switch owners which can't be further from the truth.
@@ipiinsih3655 no I didn't get that vibe from ur comment at all, I think u were very respectful to everyone 😊 I'm also a little sad that Sega made the first game I could actually play a massive cash grab. @@Yapuwfou Yeah, I certainly hope the best for the next installment in the game. Mega39s could've been a game that revives the series after its long hiatus, but at least Switch owners are satisfied to some degree, being able to play their first DIVA game.

I'm sorry but it's not even fair to compare Cantarella Grace Edition against normal Cantarella... Normal Cantarella is just... lacking... Grace edition is so extra and I love it for her. stan F2nd PVs
If it werent for the existence of F and F2nd, Arcade’s demon mouth and yaoi hands would’ve never been fixed. Also the lighting/ambience additions. Thank god they do exist.
Yeah cos it's showing how they're better but Sega didn't bother to use them because they're turning the franchise into a cash grab with way less effort and creativity sadly
but the thing is FT and Megamix DO have success effects for some returning songs (Glory Music and Negaposi * Continues come to mind) so it's not like SEGA removed all chance times for every returning song, which makes the absence of chance times for songs like the ones shown in this video even weirder.
Alot of people are talking about their issues with mega mix so I'll just casually throw my opinion here lmao. There are so many issues with mega mix lol. The only reason I got it was because I already owned a switch and there's was finally a project diva game I could play. I was estatic! But I totally get where people are coming from when they're whining about the toon shader. It looks cartoony, and some people very much prefer a more realistic look. I personally like the toon shader, as the non toon shader did creep me out sometimes lol. But someone had mentioned that we should've been given the choice, and I totally agree with that. Another issue if the songs. For the 10 year anniversary for Project Diva, this game butchered my expectations. All the songs other then I think 5 were ported from Future Tone, and the game didn't even have half the songs in it! And don't get me started on Roki and how lazy that PV was, and now they're adding 2 new songs into the game that they could've made an amazing pv for, but NOPE they didn't rlly bother. Don't get me wrong, I do like that I was able to get a project diva game... But it was not what it was all cracked up to be...

Tbh, I find MegaMix enjoyable! As a core Nintendo product owner, Megamix is the only PD game i have! I personally like the toon shader. However... After learning about PDFT & PDAFT, This game seems lazy... like, mega lazy... I mean, i personally still enjoy it since its my first ever PD game, but like, the comparisons make this game look like lazy trash and i have to agree w sega's laziness with the PV's... However, the core rhythm game is still fun to me! & that matters the most personally.
Whilst I can see that Sega was lazy with megamix, the cantarella comparison can be excused. I don't want to nitpick, but the cantarella used in the comparison for project diva ft is the grace edition. The Grace edition is only available on f2nd anyway. The megamix version is from project diva 2nd on psp I think. Sorry again if this came off as annoying
Maybe the hardware couldn’t process the effects Future Tone’s pvs had? I’m just guessing though and if it isn’t what I think it is - Sega is really putting minimal effort on their games unlike before smh.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Doesn't like... the fact that the F devs left the project diva series have something to do with it? But anyways stan Project Sekai 😍
Honestly I think that the cell shading of mega39's suits better the characters because they have an anime style and it may be disturbing in 3d, moreover the shadows in the 3d version are poor, there is no ambient light they just look black conpared to the other one, even if the skin is whiter in mega39's
I’m new to the project diva series, the only games I’ve ever played are Project Mirai on the 3DS and Megamix 39s for the Switch (which I only got last month for my 16th birthday). When game was released and a lot of people were complaining I didn’t really understand or care (seeing as I’ve never played any of the PS2, 3 or 4 games) and it would be fine for me to buy since it’d be my second ever project diva game. I’ve already gotten used to the toon shader but the PVs on the over games look SO much better and have so much personality in them and now I’m getting the sudden realisation that I’m missing out on a whole lot. :/
You are. This is why I fucking hate Mega39s. It doesn't give anything new for new fans to enjoy and they get this impression that Mega39s is a good game while compared to the older entries.. it's really not
Ngimingipi You're right. I'm kind of annoyed I'm not getting the full project diva experience but at the very least I brought it when it was on sale, and I'm having a lot of fun with it!
Not just the PVs but Mega39s also cut out over half of the og song list from FT and now trying to resell them as separate DLC packs, you're not even getting the full FT experience if you get the almost $90 bundle on the eshop since that's not even all of the song DLC as of rn
Really missing Kocchi Muite Baby's F2nd PV, not gonna lie, especially with the Future Tone shaders (even though I'm someone who doesn't mind MegaMix's Toon shader or whatever it's called, I honestly forget)
while i do agree that the PV’s in future tone are better (you literally can’t deny that), i do actually sometimes prefer the toon shader on the vocaloids. i think the shading in future tone can look really pretty, if the video is in good lighting . there is something,, creepy and dated about the future tone models on them with no lighting, e.g the future tone PV for ‘world is mine’.you can kind of see what i mean in the ‘look this way, baby’ PV, where the light is hitting one side of her face but not the other. so yeah,, personally i prefer the toon shader in some videos. but that being said it would’ve been nice if like future tone with the toon shader PV’s, we had some of the PV’s with the original shader in mega mix. love both of em though!!
Dear Kitty i knew that they were f2nd but i thought they could be added to the future tone PV’s whereas they can’t in mega mix. i only have mega mix at the moment so i don’t know much about the different PV settings in ft :)
well obviously the f-f2nd pvs are better because megamix such as future tone comes from the arcade and the arcade uses the first pvs of the songs with the f and f2nd they made an update to the returning songs pvs but in the arcade they didn't put the uploaded pv (for some reason) so obviously the megamix-future tone pvs looks worst than the f-f2nd pvs if not there would be something wrong
i am not saying i like it like that i would love if sega someday put the updated pvs on the arcade cause come on they have an option to change pvs and just use it for edit pvs instead of using it to put the updated f-f2nd pvs
Great music videos, the Megamix is so incredible than the other one, it just like it put it out with more and more graphic of the Megamix than the other one.
Honestly, the shading they used for mega mix really isn't that bad when you consider it needed to be optimized for handheld hardware. So, darkly shaded, detailed models would just make them hard to see and lag (PDX did the exact same thing) Actually playing on the screen itself it looks really nice and even gets rid of the annoyance of some songs being cell shaded and others not that future tone has. (Piano Girl *cough*) In terms of content I would only recommend the game itself to people who don't have the means to get future tone but with all the song packs we're only really missing 10 modules and 70 songs, most of which are pretty janky songs with jankier pvs made entirely of assets from other pvs. There's only maybe 15 songs that I can see people genuinely missing. Not the best of veteran players but it's a newly accessible version of project diva that trims the fat a little bit and as someone who just came into actually playing the games I really appreciate that.
Okay, I want to have something clear: 1. I know its a partial port of future tone, but it's not a port at all, because it has less songs, another graphics and 2 NEW GAME MODES, Mix Mode and Touch Mode (I know that some ppl hate the mix mode but it's not my trouble), it can't be a complete port if it has 2 different game modes that aren't in future tone, i'm not defending sega's laziness, but at least we can be grateful that SEGA brought Diva to the switch, and you can play that game anytime and anywhere 2. In my opinion, Toon Shader looks more appealing than the Future Tone Shader (I respect if you don't like it obviously), and honestly i really can't stand people wanting the toon shader to be removed, because first of all, it gives the game a more anime / cartoonish style that fits with some pvs (like Nekomimi Switch or Dou Iu Koto Na No?) and second, switch can run the 3d pvs perfectly with the toon shader, counting that too much people (including me) really likes the toon shader
1. You just contradicted yourself. Read this carefully. "I know it's a partial port of Future Tone, but it's not a port at all..." Well it is a partial port. It has some differences, but the core aspect of the game is based entirely off the PS4 title. Songs are the same, charts are the same, modules are the same, PV's are the same (graphics aside), core gameplay is the same. So it's essentially a port. Now I wouldn't say two new modes. Touch Mode isn't a new "mode", it's just another control scheme frankly. Not that it really matters but I thought I would put that out there. Now if you're not defending Sega's laziness, then why do you feel we should be grateful for this game then? You do seem to agree that Sega is being lazy so shouldn't we be asking for better instead? 2. Sure, you can prefer the toon shader by all means. But I feel it should be acknowledged that the PS4 graphics are just objectively better. The game runs at 1080p or even 4K on a PS4 Pro while the Switch runs it at 720p at its highest and under 480p at its lowest. The Switch game looks blurry and unappealing because of this while the PS4 version has a much cleaner look which bodes nicely on my flat screen display. The lack of dynamic lighting and proper shading also affects the look of the Switch game. Like at 2:20 for example. She doesnt look like an anime character, she looks like a ghost from the new Luigi's Mansion video game and it just doesn't look good. Some do look nice with a toon shader, but the addition of shading and proper lighting mixed in with a much cleaner resolution at a constant 60fps is objectively a better image than a dynamic 480p/720p 30fps/60fps title. Seriously, you'd need to see Future Tone on a 1080p or 4K television. It's an extremely clean looking title that can hit Pixar qualities of 3D animation. Megamix never hit that level for me and a lot of the time the resolution would be so low that I could basically count the pixels on a character and the background would look like an oil painting.
Your points were all good and in your defense you put up a good argument instead of attacking people who criticize this game (fuck if I see people like that one more time...) I'd have to agree with Elijah though. Sure it's not a complete port and the reasons are obvious, but if I were to sum up Megamix in a sentence, it's gonna have to be "a switch port of FT with less songs and no FT shader", this is NOT a new game nor should it be considered as such. PDF2nd did recycle some classics but in all fairness, at least the team did put in some effort by adding chance time success effects on old PVs, spiced up old PVs (Cantarella grace edition and Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru) while adding some degree of new content into the game. You have to admit all that Megamix offers is the same old songs you can find on Future Tone with the same old PVs, same old modules, same old everything. New game modes might be fun to some people but honestly I just crave more song variety, which we deserve after 3 years of no content. The toon shader fiasco. As I have stated before I hate this shader and this video proves why but I can't force people to hate it because it's not appropriate and rude. Which is why SEGA shouldn't have forced players to only look at the toon shader for every song, at least add the option to switch between the toon one and the normal one. Heck, they could even use the F models which work magnificent regardless of what songs they're used in
@@ipiinsih3655 I agree, its not a new game at all (I did NEVER mentioned that it was 100% a new game tho) and SEGA did the mistake of promote the game as a new game, but I have to say that it has its pros, which I had mentioned before Im not going to talk about the toon shade anymore because I know people hate it, people love it and I respect if u dont like it or if u like it, but I have to admit that there are some pvs that don’t fit with the shader (Like Sekiranun Grafitti or Odds & Ends)
@々仝〃Itz_Indigo That doesn't even make sense, because, do u know how many people wanted to play the songs that are in the arcade machines? The way I wish original future tone had some of this too? Or I'm just stupid bc I play it on console and it doesn't even have the full pv for some songs? I just wish sega would make another f2nd, that game had so much effort put into it.
I didn't expect the amount of detail or lighting effects from F2nd but I expected at least halfway decent lighting for Mega Mix! It really disappoints me since I have been clamoring for Project Diva (or more Project Mirai!) on Nintendo hardware. T^T

Man, that shader is basically the equivalent of someone ramping the saturation, gamma, reflection, and contrast all the way up, because they think it looks better. It doesn't. It's blinding.
Honestly, they should have used the F models for Megamix. The F models actually have their own style, and are way more expressive than FT, plus F 2nd also redid the less than good mocap from the original Diva games. Not only that, but when you have pvs like Sharing the World in X that look stunning with the F model, and the FT models really just look eh in a lot of cases, something needs changing
You do know that the Future Tone models are just modified versions of the original Dreamy Theater/Arcade models, right? I get what you're saying and I agree with using the f models. I just want hope you're aware of its origins.

im a firm believer that megamix is a mini port of future tone. Project Diva and Project Diva F 2nd are in leagues of their own when compared to both FT and MM. The only noticeable difference between MM and FT is the cell shading/bloom.
I actually rlly like MegaMix because I can't focus on playing the game with a lot going on in the background so it makes it easier for me to play if that makes any sense
everyone complaining is proof you can never make anyone happy it's first time sega made a project diva game on the switch. i'm thankful they actually made a game for a console i own. songs haven't been animated because the producers didn't want them to. (catch the wave was animated while bring it on wasn't, not because sega is lazy but because giga didn't want bring it on to be animated). there aren't as many songs and modules as the previous games due to lack of switch storage (i have only megamix and the dlcs (up to song pack 7) on my switch and i struggle finding space on there. the toonshader is a stylistic choice, if you hate it or prefer future tone's shading, you can mod it to remove it. the roki's pv is kinda messed up admittedly but that's ONE SONG. i feel as if most people complaining are just here to argue and their only valid points are 'toonshader bad' 'port' 'lazy' 'roki pv'. if sega was lazy, they wouldnt've added new songs, mix mode, tried toonshader, touch mode and made the whole game. in my opinion, megamix got done hard and doesn't deserve the hate it's getting. sure, it doesn't compare to future tone but you can't blame a game producer over how much storage space a ps4 has compared to a switch. like, have any of you actually seen how much space megamix takes up?
You're completely false. The videos aren't 2D because the creator didn't want them to use 3D videos. Bring it On is also in the recently released Project Sekai also made by Sega. It has a 3D video in that game. So your claim that Giga didn't want the song to be animated is completely false! Sega is literally being lazy with Megamix. Sega doesn't care about your storage. They can put in as much content as they want. NBA 2K20 is over 32 GB to download. Megamix with all the DLC is under 20 GB. Sega cares about your MONEY! Toon shader is a stylstic choice. But it's an ugly one that doesn't look good at all. Here you want a good reason? The game runs at dynamic 720p, it can also get to under 480p which isn't even considered HD anymore. The game is extremely blurry and fuzzy because of it. Future Tone on a PS4 is a clean Native 1080p and Native 4K on a PS4 Pro. The result is a much cleaner more vibrant image. PS4 also has dynamic lighting, real-time reflections, per object motion blur, and is NEVER 30 fps. This is also the least amount of new songs Sega has added to a Project Diva game. Only being 10 new songs, every Project Diva game before has had at least double the amount of new songs. Mix mode is finicky and frustrating, Touch mode is broken and unplayable on anything above hard mode, toon shader has been experimented with in Project Diva since 2013 in Project Diva Arcade Future Tone, and this "new game" is a port of a 4 year old game with half the content taken out and rereleased as paid DLC.
@@livinlikeeli6785 I play the game daily and I have never seen it go as low as 450p, touch mode isn't as bad as you think it is from what I can tell, it just takes a bit of getting used to. you claim toonshader is ugly as if it is a fact, however it is quite blatently an opinion, sega might've loved the design and just because you disagree doesn't make it where's the proof sega only cares about the money? if it is true, they might be having financial issues and they made a port of future tone because they genuinely didn't have the money to make a new game. all in all it's a game on a handheld device and that means it is playable everywhere, perhaps altering it's worth in money. i still don't believe it deserves the hate it is getting especially when i haven't seen evidence of claimed facts. all that matters to me is that i find it fun and i don't have to pay for a £200 ps4 just to play the game.
@@vintasaru Well the game by default is 480p in handheld mode so it does indeed go below 480. Touch Mode does suck especially when you have quadruple notes as it hardly registers. And toonshader can be subjective but the resolution and lack of post processing make it objectively ugly. The proof that Sega cares about money is that the DLC's are all songs that have been out for years already (and have been in the Future Tone base game since 2016) and all the new songs are 2D videos. Superbeat Xonic, Musynx, Thumper, and many more cost the same on Switch as they do on PS4 so handheld doesn't alter price.
@@vintasaru Say what you want about the game. The fact that you enjoy it is great. But Sega releasing a worse port of a 4 year old game, taking out half the content, and rereleasing it as paid DLC is absolutely deserving of critisicm and backlash.
I like the Toon shader, but MY GOD WHY DOES HER SKIN LOOK WHITE 2:37 like that looks horrible! Im sorry but I have seen MMD's looking better than this.
And that’s why I like F2nd. They give alternative PVs for Dreamy Theater songs. And I personally like them, it gives more... style, mood(?) to the PVs. 😅
@々仝〃Itz_Indigo But it isn't effortless by any means. Future Tone is the compilation of 6 years of effort from Sega to craft 224 songs with multiple charts each with over 300 modules total and make an arcade game compatible on a standard controller. Megamix is a rerelease of that only they take out 140 songs and re release it as DLC, make the DLC the songs that Future Tone already has instead of adding actual new songs like Future Tone's DLC did, add more 2D videos instead of 3D videos, neglect to add shading to the environments to accomodate with the toon shaded models, and charge a higher price for it. Future Tone's 224 song list at launch only had 6 or 7 2D videos. There are 8 2D videos in the span of the 12 new songs that Megamix got. The lack of effort in Megamix lies in the fact that they made Future Tone in 2016 based on the Arcade game in 2010. Not a trimmed version of the Arcade game, a full version with nearly 100% of the content right off the gate. In 2020, they take a game that's 4 years old and make an INFERIOR version and call it a new game and charge a higher price for it.
@々仝〃Itz_Indigo Not all the songs. The songs were mostly either from Edit Mode contests, or one of the console titles. And then they redid those songs in the Arcade engine along with making new charts and then put it on PS4. 4 years later, they put a filter on only the characters, take out 140 songs, call it a new game. And at the end of the day, it's objectively better to have a game that is 100% accurate to the arcade game than a game only 50% accurate to it. 224 songs is more than 105.
@々仝〃Itz_Indigo Here's an analogy. AFT is the box and picture the puzzle pieces come in, FT is Sega making and finishing the puzzle itself, MM is Sega cutting the finished puzzle in half, advertising it as a new puzzle, and will only build the rest if you pay them extra. It takes more effort to build a puzzle than it does to take down a puzzle and that's exactly what Sega is doing with Megamix. Taking out content and calling it a new game.
@々仝〃Itz_Indigo Megamix is advertised as a new game when it's just a worse and more expensive version of an older game. You can't refute that. Future Tone is better. It has more songs, it has a higher resolution, the game and DLC are cheaper, and it came out 4 years ago.
seeing that they removed objects from the background and that the character models seem to have less details in the shading (they dont even have noses from certain angles!!) in Megamix really makes me wonder if the "completely overhauled graphics" as theyre refered to in the trailer, were actually a way to make the game compatible with the Nintendo Switch... don't get me wrong I love the Switch but most titles that are Switch exclusive have rather plane graphics (though they often times use artstyles were a too detailed style could actually take away from the experience so its not nessesarily critisism in that regard) I have Future Tone on Playstation 4 and when Megamix was announced I actually thought about getting it to have a portable version, but I played the Demo and it also kind of felt like there was some input lag (could have been just me getting confused over the button changes though)
I can't help but notice a lack of bloom in ft. Never realised it until I saw mega 39s and how they added bloom where bloom should obviously be because it's a bright light.
Am I the only one who thinks the MegaMix style looks fine? Also the megamix clips where Miku or other characters look pale look nothing like that on my switch
Tbh I’m no soy Sony boi. I only picked up Project Diva on home brew PSP, Mirai DX on 3DS. And It even felt wholesome to see Megamix got more sales and demand than future tone. So I thought I got my money’s worth on Megamix bundle. I never thought I’d hear the other side and hearing that F2nd is like a miku heaven. Off topic but is Sega gonna touch on Initial D on consoles? I’d thought there’d be a big demand for it.
So basically no chance time Still don't know why they get rid of star and replaced it with slide bar Linked stars have much more creativity than slide bar lmao
So I was thinking on getting one of the diva games for covers, which game is the best for that? I was thinking megamix+ on the PC - the trailer said it could switch between megamix & futuretone visuals - but I don't really know a lot about the whole thing.
I miss the f2nd video for look this way baby so so much it was so good Melt too Edit: Cantrella too! F2nd introduced me to most of these songs my disappointment in future tone and megamix's versions of it is immeasurable
The one time in rosary pale for mega mix where the camera zooms into kaitos foot for3 seconds... They literally took out the best angel of the song and replaced it with a foot. 😢
I can see Future Tone keeping the old PVs, because well.. It was an arcade game, that was a compilation of the series. But MegaMix not using all of the updated PVs from the F series is beyond me. Like Kokoro, and Meldown are DLC and it's still using the old Pvs!!
cantarella megamix really looks like yes girl go give us nothing
Well that's because it's the original cantarella pv. The F2nd one that was ported in this was Grace Edition which is basically a whole new version of the song.

For PSP my favorite part was the Project Diva 2nd, I remember playing it for the first time... And I still like to play this game!
It’s project diva diva 2nd and diva extended with their dreamy theater counterparts (which was the one on the ps3)

**pink lense flare**
Like yes, I definitely didnt want to see a queen slay to her song, only pink lights for me
i mean imo the luka luka night fever isnt that bad iss just hella bright
it's super bright you can't see what the fuck is happening anymore
i see lots of people absolutely shitting on the toon shader,,
tbh i can't blame em
but the toon shader is actually really good on some PVs
like for example Catch the Wave
or 39 Music
or 1925
and imo Amatsu Kitsune as well
when executed correctly, the toon shader looks really nice
what's at fault here is Sega's laziness. -nothing new here-
I think it looks good on luka luka night fever too
I’m very surprised to see kedamono here
i think the problem with the toon shader overall was the lack of effort put into it-- it doesn't have half of the textures in f2nd and the hair looks like plastic and it's very stiff-- and the modules in megamix rarely change expression and when they do it's kinda awkward;; but on the other hand some pvs like catch the wave, 39, 39 music, kakakuri pierrot and torino ko city look absolutely delightful!! it really is sad to see some of my favorite songs with such low quality PVs T_T some of them are decent but it really is a game changer when there's actual effort put into the toon shader and the PV itself
Yeah, the problem for me is that it’s only good on _some_ PVs. Most of the PVs don’t fit with the toon shader (especially Sadistic Music Factory and Hello Worker ugggghhh) and it’s just really depressing tbh :(
on luka luka night fever looks amazing, but on rolling girl it looks awful
Reasons why Megamix sucks big time:

@@Yapuwfou Yeah, I certainly hope the best for the next installment in the game. Mega39s could've been a game that revives the series after its long hiatus, but at least Switch owners are satisfied to some degree, being able to play their first DIVA game.

However, the core rhythm game is still fun to me! & that matters the most personally.
F2 was the perfect diva game/version. The PVs, song tone, additions were amazing, especially kaito's cantarella and mikus sekiranun graffiti.
No? Most of the PVs are rendered in real time like in-game cutscenes. I don't think the PVs are that tasking and powerful to run.
Many people hacked their Switchs to delete the toon shader and it's works perfectly fine, so no, it was a artistic choice took by SEGA or Nintnedo
The switch has HD games like The Witcher and Assassins creed on it. I think it could perfectly handle the effects F2nd brought. Sega is just lazy
Correct me if I'm wrong but
Doesn't like... the fact that the F devs left the project diva series have something to do with it?
Really missing Kocchi Muite Baby's F2nd PV, not gonna lie, especially with the Future Tone shaders

2:34 I like how the floor changes based on the game
while i do agree that the PV’s in future tone are better (you literally can’t deny that), i do actually sometimes prefer the toon shader on the vocaloids. i think the shading in future tone can look really pretty, if the video is in good lighting . there is something,, creepy and dated about the future tone models on them with no lighting, e.g the future tone PV for ‘world is mine’.you can kind of see what i mean in the ‘look this way, baby’ PV, where the light is hitting one side of her face but not the other. so yeah,, personally i prefer the toon shader in some videos. but that being said it would’ve been nice if like future tone with the toon shader PV’s, we had some of the PV’s with the original shader in mega mix. love both of em though!!
Its actually f 2nd's pv's the pv's in ft are the exact same ones as megamic
Dear Kitty i knew that they were f2nd but i thought they could be added to the future tone PV’s whereas they can’t in mega mix. i only have mega mix at the moment so i don’t know much about the different PV settings in ft :)
@@loomiesun yeah idk why they only added the success event on only a few songs and not all on ft/megamix
well obviously the f-f2nd pvs are better because megamix such as future tone comes from the arcade and the arcade uses the first pvs of the songs with the f and f2nd they made an update to the returning songs pvs but in the arcade they didn't put the uploaded pv (for some reason) so obviously the megamix-future tone pvs looks worst than the f-f2nd pvs if not there would be something wrong
i am not saying i like it like that i would love if sega someday put the updated pvs on the arcade cause come on they have an option to change pvs and just use it for edit pvs instead of using it to put the updated f-f2nd pvs
Great music videos, the Megamix is so incredible than the other one, it just like it put it out with more and more graphic of the Megamix than the other one.
They really said "lights lights lights" "you mean lights camera action"
"lights!!!"
Hi!!! I'm so excited to see this!!
(Piano Girl *cough*)
In terms of content I would only recommend the game itself to people who don't have the means to get future tone but with all the song packs we're only really missing 10 modules and 70 songs, most of which are pretty janky songs with jankier pvs made entirely of assets from other pvs. There's only maybe 15 songs that I can see people genuinely missing. Not the best of veteran players but it's a newly accessible version of project diva that trims the fat a little bit and as someone who just came into actually playing the games I really appreciate that.
Okay, I want to have something clear:
1. I know its a partial port of future tone, but it's not a port at all, because it has less songs, another graphics and 2 NEW GAME MODES, Mix Mode and Touch Mode (I know that some ppl hate the mix mode but it's not my trouble), it can't be a complete port if it has 2 different game modes that aren't in future tone, i'm not defending sega's laziness, but at least we can be grateful that SEGA brought Diva to the switch, and you can play that game anytime and anywhere
Your points were all good and in your defense you put up a good argument instead of attacking people who criticize this game (fuck if I see people like that one more time...)
I'd have to agree with Elijah though.
Heck, they could even use the F models which work magnificent regardless of what songs they're used in
@@ipiinsih3655 I agree, its not a new game at all (I did NEVER mentioned that it was 100% a new game tho) and SEGA did the mistake of promote the game as a new game, but I have to say that it has its pros, which I had mentioned before
Im not going to talk about the toon shade anymore because I know people hate it, people love it and I respect if u dont like it or if u like it, but I have to admit that there are some pvs that don’t fit with the shader (Like Sekiranun Grafitti or Odds & Ends)
@々仝〃Itz_Indigo That doesn't even make sense, because, do u know how many people wanted to play the songs that are in the arcade machines? (Before AFT was able to be run on PC)
and that's not the problem, the problem is that SEGA promoted Megamix as a 100% new game when is a partial port of future tone
@@livinlikeeli6785 Are you saying that just because I want to find the good side of the situation, i'm licking SEGA's Shoes? How is it irrelevant? F2nd came out years before Mega39s. The point? Mega39s couldve HAD the same treatment F2nd got

Now that im comparing it to future tone i feel cheated on graphics 😭 i still enjoy playing, i just sometimes wish i didnt come to see the difference
Yeah I love F models
You do know that the Future Tone models are just modified versions of the original Dreamy Theater/Arcade models, right? I get what you're saying and I agree with using the f models. I just want hope you're aware of its origins.
Hey is there any full video with these Future Tone mods? I really want to see them and the only ones I've seen is Rolling girl, R&C, Ai kotoba and World is Mine. Because they are the only ones I can find.
I too would also love to see more full ones! :'(
@@uzmk_mato omg I would cry
@@uzmk_mato Yes yes yes please!
TORA_V4
I highly encourage that you do
2:22 ah Mega Mix is too bright!
They seriously did Canterella dirty man
I prefer mega mix. I always love bright and vibrant colors!
Sekiranun graffiti is one of my favorite mvs/songs how could they DO HER LIKE THAT
0:21 Megamix wins
everyone saying this is why future tone is better as if the left isnt even actually ft, its just f2nd pvs with ft graphics, ft doesnt have stuff like the overlays in look this way baby, nor does it have tako luka in night fever like this isnt even showing that ft is superior, its just reminding me that im mad they didnt just import the pvs to ft in the first place
f/f2nd have some of the best pvs dont let ft take the credit for it lol
@@uzmk_mato ah yea i meant the big one in the bg at the end not the tiny one that flies around thats my bad on wording lol
n yea ft totally looks better than f2nd, just wish that we got f2nd graphic update instead of the pvs being different 😞
im a firm believer that megamix is a mini port of future tone.
Miku looks like a ghost in mega mix sekiraun graffiti.
God I'm glad everyone noticed
I got two words that mean more to me than anything else: Hair. Physics.
I LOVE hair physics, and if the hair moves pretty I am happy.
HOLY SHIT IS CANTARELLA THAT COOL??
whoa i actually might have to redo kocchi muite lighting soon that is not how it should be yikes but i do love good comparison videos
everyone complaining is proof you can never make anyone happy
it's first time sega made a project diva game on the switch. i'm thankful they actually made a game for a console i own.
songs haven't been animated because the producers didn't want them to.
@@livinlikeeli6785 I play the game daily and I have never seen it go as low as 450p, touch mode isn't as bad as you think it is from what I can tell, it just takes a bit of getting used to.
you claim toonshader is ugly as if it is a fact, however it is quite blatently an opinion, sega might've loved the design and just because you disagree doesn't make it
where's the proof sega only cares about the money? if it is true, they might be having financial issues and they made a port of future tone because they genuinely didn't have the money to make a new game.
all in all it's a game on a handheld device and that means it is playable everywhere, perhaps altering it's worth in money. i still don't believe it deserves the hate it is getting especially when i haven't seen evidence of claimed facts.
all that matters to me is that i find it fun and i don't have to pay for a £200 ps4 just to play the game.
@@livinlikeeli6785 Lmao salt
I like Kaito’s tuning in F2nd way more than in Future Tone. I wish their was an option to switch versions
Why is sekiranun graffiti so bright on the video? It is not that bright on the game
Megamix looks a lot more plastic to me honestly. Plus Future Tone seemed to have some more interesting things happening in the PV’s, at least...
damn these look so good
I like the Toon shader, but MY GOD WHY DOES HER SKIN LOOK WHITE 2:37 like that looks horrible! Im sorry but I have seen MMD's looking better than this.
X2
And that’s why I like F2nd. They give alternative PVs for Dreamy Theater songs. And I personally like them, it gives more... style, mood(?) to the PVs. 😅
God, the PV of sekiranun grafitti for megamix is so bright. Same with luka luka night fever and kocchi muite baby
Probably the best one so far
Wow that is so incredible, I love the right side better than the left side, that is so interested. 🤔🤔🤔
2:20. Miku literally looks like a ghost. I'd be fine if that was in Luigi's Mansion but it's not acceptable here.
Do you know where I can find the F2nd Edition mod for FT?
Never expected to be early 😭
seeing that they removed objects from the background and that the character models seem to have less details in the shading (they dont even have noses from certain angles!!) in Megamix really makes me wonder if the "completely overhauled graphics" as theyre refered to in the trailer, were actually a way to make the game compatible with the Nintendo Switch... don't get me wrong I love the Switch but most titles that are Switch exclusive have rather plane graphics (though they often times use artstyles were a too detailed style could actually take away from the experience so its not nessesarily critisism in that regard)
I have Future Tone on Playstation 4 and when Megamix was announced I actually thought about getting it to have a portable version, but I played the Demo and it also kind of felt like there was some input lag (could have been just me getting confused over the button changes though)
Petition to get grace edition back ): its literally a sin that the og was ever used after the creation of grace edition
you know what maybe ill just get project mirai instead
I can't help but notice a lack of bloom in ft. Never realised it until I saw mega 39s and how they added bloom where bloom should obviously be because it's a bright light.
Project DIVA Future Tone you'll be always in my memory 😔✊🏻
2:25 MIKU IS LITERALLY WHITE
i'm just happy to actually have a project diva game okay
if you guys want it to be future tone or f 2nd then go play future tone or f 2nd 💕
Yall cannot tell me megamix looks good wtf
3:43 (future tone) well that's definitely not creepy at all
Am I the only one who thinks the MegaMix style looks fine? Also the megamix clips where Miku or other characters look pale look nothing like that on my switch
Tbh I’m no soy Sony boi. I only picked up Project Diva on home brew PSP, Mirai DX on 3DS. And It even felt wholesome to see Megamix got more sales and demand than future tone. So I thought I got my money’s worth on Megamix bundle.
I never thought I’d hear the other side and hearing that F2nd is like a miku heaven.
Off topic but is Sega gonna touch on Initial D on consoles? I’d thought there’d be a big demand for it.
Please make more of these!
So basically no chance time
Still don't know why they get rid of star and replaced it with slide bar
Linked stars have much more creativity than slide bar lmao
Also sega should've just stay with f,f2nd and x graphics
Those are miles better than plastic dreamy theather remastered and glowing 39.
The one on the left is amazing and the right is a walking glowstick
So I was thinking on getting one of the diva games for covers, which game is the best for that? I was thinking megamix+ on the PC - the trailer said it could switch between megamix & futuretone visuals - but I don't really know a lot about the whole thing.
YESSSSSSSSSSS SOMEONE SAID IT
I miss the f2nd video for look this way baby so so much it was so good
Melt too
Edit: Cantrella too! F2nd introduced me to most of these songs my disappointment in future tone and megamix's versions of it is immeasurable
Why does the lighting on Sekiranun Grafitti looks like the sun is only 1 meter away from Miku's head
That's because, well, Megamix is just FT ported to Switch with less songs and a bit cheaper.
Shiny module living up to its name jeez
First diva game was on the switch 😿
But I might be getting a ps soon so I can get future tone😎😎
The main thing I gathered from this is that F2nd was the best for PVs.
