She would be no.1 ranked in the UK for 11-year old girls this year (best is currently 4.50m)! I jumped 5.03m as a 12 year old boy, then 6.88m as a senior.
She has a really, really fast foot on the takeoff. It might go unnoticed to an amateur eye, but I've analyzed tens of long jump athletes and this is actually THE secret of transfering runway speed to flight speed (most athletes lose speed after takeoff because of slow foot acting like brake). I also analyzed this frame-by-frame and she's 1 or 2 frames faster than Lee. This is easily national level of fast-twitch muscle fiber density, something you cannot train, you have to be born with it. Now add training and dedication and she might be a world champion one day.

Lee - what a hero. And Charis is frickin' amazing. Seeing her oversized trainers, I thought she would never take off. Those things looked like cruise ships on her feet. Then she flicked the "zero gravity" boosters and flew. I really hope she gets to train with a serious coach.
Nick, Thank you for "Paying it Forward" for so long. I love the way a world class athlete can bring track to the masses. If more pro track athletes would do something similar, Track and Field would grow in this country. I am a former collegiate 880yd/800m runner myself but I have competed in almost every distance and field event in one meet or another. I love the variety of events you have sponsored. Dang that 11 year old girl had an amazing jump! Around 15 feet! Girls at my high school can’t even get that. She’s got a bright future if she continues in track. C:
Believe it it or not, Charis' knees rotating in like that is probably where she gets her power from. There are some high level elastic jumpers that get their jumping ability from the same torque produced when the femur goes from internal to external rotation like that.
Lee's jump made me to look into our national track and field masters tables for 2020. In my country (Czechia), he would have been a champion in the 45+ category.
It looks like he actually won the 45+ World Championship in 2019 usatfmasters.org/team-usatf-masters-15-medals-kick-off-wma-indoor-championships-in-torun/

In German Highschool you can choose to do your A-levels (Abitur) in sports; some track and field events are mandatory. The official length to get the best score in long jump (I guess that’s an A in the US) is 5.85 meters (that’s 19.19 feet). And I think that’s ridiculously hard to achieve!
Unfortunately you can only choose from 100 or 200 when it comes to short distance sprinting. The times there are 11.9 (100m) and 24.4 (200m). For longer distances we only get testet in the Cooper-Test (12 minutes - max distance) to get the best grade you have to reach 3175 meters. Which translates to an average pace of 6 minutes per mile.
I was hoping the same. We didn’t get a whole lot of warm up jumps and when when it was my time to go I want to go from a spot that I knew I could take off from so I chose a 7 step. I was definitely a little bummed about not making the finals but hopefully I’ll have some redemption when it comes shot put time.
