Great video! Although for people in Latin America (Like in my case)Nintendo consoles are not very budget friendly due to their pricing of new games ,they rarely get discounted and even used first party games cost a lot so people have dealt with this by modding the console, buying only third party games on discount ,cheap eShop games or by emulation , some others go with a Xbox series s plus game pass .
6 years that's insane, it still feel so new, i was planning to buy one now that i Started working, it's wild to me that this thing launched before I even started high school

Great video! I have been thinking a lot about the Pokemon games however and it seems that it is perhaps better to get a Steam Deck and use whatever emulator you want.
I think if Valve makes a Steam Deck 2 or pro that'll be the portable console to buy.
I recently decided to go across the country for 5 weeks to take a bunch of classes. I have a full desktop pc but I really don't wanna have to lug a 32" monitor plus my pc plus all the peripherals across the country. I decided I'd either get a steam deck or a switch to bring with me, as my only portable gaming option right now is my iPhone. I do have a laptop, but I really only use it to ssh into my server cause it's a 2011 MacBook Pro with a dual core i5 and integrated graphics and can't really handle the modern web let alone gaming. After looking into the two options, it became pretty clear to me that the better option is absolutely the steam deck, because I can emulate almost anything on it (including the switch) and I already have a pretty large steam library.

If you don't know, it's much worth it to get a tempered glass screen protector for the switch. I've already had it save my screen once. plus it makes the console feel more premium.

Haha, it was a tough screw! Even with the vice grips it took a lot of force to get out, I don't know how it didn't strip the hell out of the threads, but a new screw went in just fine after

Out of my switch games, easily odyssey. If I still had the time, I would have for sure learned how to speedrun it by now
Haha, didnt know u can have the diy experience with nintendo consoles. As you wanted to use Linux, give batocera linux a shot as a living room alternative. Its the most promising intro into emulation from my perspective, and nintendo is well implemented. U can use Switch pro controllers, joycons and wii motes with that! Whatever will happen, at least u will have fun playing around with the endless possibilities. Perfect for your Dell PC.
I think that in a few years a new generation will come out and these will become cheaper. These are super cheap and buying a modable switch on eBay for super cheap.
Absolutely! The 3ds/2ds is an incredible deal nowadays and can play so many games once modded. If I get an OLED Switch I'll most likely hardware mod it.

I would LOVE to do the steam deck, or Aya Neo. Currently, I just don't have the budget to do that, since it would be solely for a UA-cam video.
@@aChairLeg I suppose that's fair, though given the value per $ of the Deck, you might want to consider flipping your Switch and then emulating that on the Deck. Just a thought 😎
