Hardware really isn’t everything. I have a nice PC and Series S, yet I play my Switch in handheld more than anything else.
But I pretty much exclusively play indie games and first party titles.
If yo don't mind me asking what do you use your series s for hen you have a PC?

I think that Nintendo is waiting until E3 next year to show off the next big thing in the Switch lineup, because they haven't really had a over the top presentation their for quite a few years! I don't think it is going to be just a slight increase software either. I truly believe that Nintendo has been working on something that will totally change the Gaming Industry Worldwide yet again! Like the Nintendo Switch did almost 6 years ago! I am bassing this on what has alread been leaked tech wise for the new console and on the fact that with this same type of tech information being leaked this time was the same before the original Switch came out! And when we finally got the real technical specs of the original Switch some of the components were 2 to sometimes 3 times greater than what we originally thought!
It could be that most people bought the switch because it's a fun affordable option... if you think about it most who couldn't pay a lot for the ps5 got a switch. I recently bought one for the first time and it's really fun. Getting back into games at 28 I can see this being a fun family console I even carry it to work now.
I'm excited that Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is getting multiple new DLC's. I'm also excited for the Witcher 3 next gen upgrade, and Dragon Quest Treasures!
There's no way there'll be a new Nintendo console as early as 2023, not a chance in my opinion. I think it'll be 2024 or even 2025 due to the situation that the world is in at this moment in time.

I just picked up my first switch for our Xmas present to the family. I'm excited to finally play Breath of the Wild and Mario and Kirby games.
Why doesn’t Nintendo have a hockey or football game? Very frustrating
I’ve really had fun with scarlet and violet, really don’t get the hate. A few frames will drop sometimes when entering a new area but what game doesn’t do that? Doesn’t hurt the gameplay at all and last for like 1 second, only “performance issues” I’ve had so far.
As long as the gameplay and controls are fun and make you come back for more then you won’t be paying attention too much to the subtle dip in frames per second. Most games do this especially open world games but they are fun to enjoy for hours like yakuza
NGL a lot of the graphics i seen lately are not much different from what 2005 produced. Im glad indie is popular, but NOT as an industry visual quality standard....
Imagine the new switch can play games like cod, halo, gta6 street fighter 6.. at that point we will just need game pass and ps plus just for the few exclusives
I think that’s the plan for the future but that is gnna take some strong hardware that doesn’t over heat and has good battery life

There are reports that some people have done thorough investigation on the Switch Oled motherboard and discover that it can really give a 4K signal if given a certain software update. The dock can and also the HDMI cable.
The president of Nintendo have also said switch is in the middle of it's lifespan and that they still feel beefy about the switch. Xbox said call of duty can run native on the switch.
So in a nutshell I suspect that the switch 2 is nowhere close but Nintendo might shock us with a software update that will open up some capabilities on the switch Switch OLED that we never thought of just like they once did with the Bluetooth functionality. I don't think the switch OLED was released only for a year just for it's screen.
Let's just wait and see.
The problem with the massive Pokémon launch is that’s a lot of burned people. The next Pokémon game may sell terribly because of this game. Companies seem to forget this even though it’s fucking obvious.

Whenever they make a new Console I went backwards compatibility between switch and 3DS and DS games. How may be if they release an accessory for GameCube and wii games able to get 60 FPS for a smooth performance, would be amazing price range $300-$499

Technically call of duty has sold more than this at launch but it’s multi platform. This is the biggest launch of a game exclusive to a single console ever. Still pretty insane to see these type of numbers in 3 days!

It tough to compare sales for the Switch with respect to other consoles. The turnaround time to manufacture them is obviously more efficient, it’s been in production far longer as well. Pound for pound, the Switch is more of a novelty piece of hardware compared to competitors. Nintendo is a privately owned, cash rich company; they’re going to squeeze every last dime out of the switch while they can. They obviously know they need a new product in the pipeline considering it’s lackluster performance. They clearly know there’s a huge disparity in the end user experience between them and the competitors. They’ll keep the switch relevant as long as humanly possible, but at the same time they need to bring present day hardware to the table if they don’t want to get snubbed by developers. As it stands, a lot of triple A titles are completely unplayable on Switch just for the lack of horsepower.
I really feel like Nintendo offering refunds for Pokémon is still a big enough deal that’s worth reporting on tho…

I really hope they get this chip shortage figured out soon. I don't know why they don't just make their own chips Instead of another company or something? I hope to get a new powerful switch or Nintendo console by next year or two but at the same time I don't want it til the chip shortage is figured out and are allowed to be sold in stores and not online only cause of scalpers I still sadly don't own a Xbox series X cause the chip shortage and cause of scalpers beat me to it everytime.
Chip fabrication is unfortunately one of the most difficult and complex manufacturing processes there is, an the proper facilities for doing so can take multiple years and billions of dollars to construct, and that doesn't even account for operating costs or land. That's why companies usually buy from another company that already has such facilities. There's a video tour of one of intel's fabrication plants on youtube, you should totally check it out, looks like something from another planet or what people often envision the future to look like :P

@@MadSociety-uy6zg China's response to another Covid wave has meant that things virtually get shut down. Without their manufacturing we get shortages on components they make. Covid-19 has variations that are way more transmissible than other viruses, and this is a WORLDWIDE pandemic. A bit different to the Ebola and Swine Flu you mention. I really have to question Microsoft and Sony releasing a new console in the middle of a pandemic though - there isn't even the product out there right now to satisfy demand. Way to go guys!!! It would have been smarter to wait. I like Nintendo's approach.

No Sunbro. The legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game is launching with a special edition switch oled model console 🎮. I don't see Nintendo launching a more powerful switch hardware with the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game next May. Now Nintendo could announce new Nintendo hardware at e3 next year. The e3 convention is coming back next year. Nintendo might be flagshiping e3 next year with a huge conference. E3 next year is a huge opportunity for Nintendo to announce new Nintendo hardware maybe a trailer on Metroid prime 4 or a new 3d Mario game 🎮 or the rumored Donkey Kong game being developed by the Mario Odyssey development team. Skies the limit at next year e3 convention.

Didn’t pay attention to the OLED I’m kinda mad it has a lan port which is soo great it’s not like I lag at all on my switch but that’s honestly a great feature I just wish they came with a 4k screen even if just docked I love my switch and constantly switch from my Xbox to play it and of course keep it on me to play on the go
It's nothing new that good exclusives sells systems. Just look at MS using billions to get big exclusives.
These sales though are pretty fucking insane and it could truly make Nintendo wait for a successor, but it depends on the successor too because if it's, and most probably will be, 100% backwards compatible AND get it's next game, exclusive games it shouldn't be hurting the Switch's sales too much after 6-7 years. But there's another thing and that's 3rd paert developers who are more important to Nintendo now than before and I am sure they are nagging Nintendo for an upgrade a lot. And if Capcom got them(Nintendo) to double the RAM in Switch I am sure many devs nagging them could have an impact. We'll see, of course.

@@oo0024 haven't tried it yet, but compared to botw, doom eternal, crisis etc I can believe a game with 10 times the budget and less graphical demand (pokemon) is as bad as it is. It just shows that they really don't care about the fans, this isn't a switch hardware issue, it's 100% on gamefreak
I don’t know how many times I have to reiterate myself in these comments and videos. 60FPS and high resolution is taxing in a small form factor if you don’t know anything about hardware then your opinion is just blind gibberish. The SteamDECK is always the defense with these internet mockingbirds but the truth is the battery life on that machine is as poor as a gaming laptop with far less power.

Just picked up a switch Oled and I can say it's in a class of its own and I love it. My xbox series and PS5 are getting no love. The fact I can grab it and go sit in my room or take it with me is amazing and the battery life is great too.

If I remember correctly there will be a new release on January till May 2023. Fire emblem and Zelda. I don't think Nintendo will release Switch 2 anytime soon. Maybe Autumn 2023?

I went ahead and purchased the white OLED a week ago. I was upset I missed the Violet/Scarlet edition. However, the OLEDs are all the same just different special editions. So, I would get one now. Unless you truly want a special edition model.

Nintendo did many things right, which the WiiU missed. I do not miss the next or any AC on a Nintendo Konsole but for me the N64 Plan was the best ever. They created new DK IP with BK they hat the best Shooter with 007/PD and we got Zelda and Mario on top.
Big N impressed with Technik/Power and best IP's. I think it needs booth a powerfull hardware to produce Games that look stunning today but without Games or Game we have on other Konsoles Nintendo can leave this Hardware forever. Just more frames and higher resolution is not enough. The Games should have complete new next Gen visuals. But Nintedo where are the Games we loved so much? Where is DK Switch?

Not just games, I think it is about the Nintendo released better hardware for Switch. You know like DS to 2DS or 3DS. I am super disappointed with the OLED, I mean aside from better screen and slightly better battery life, NO DIFFERENT at all. I might as well stick with LITE for now, until they released better one.

Honestly I don’t need 60fps. Nobody does. Our eyes don’t see that fast. The switch/steam deck are peak gaming. It may be cool to have that 2000” tv so detailed you can see your favorite celebrities blackheads under their makeup but the reality is we’re not actually gaining much with graphics better than botw. Aesthetic beauty doesn’t always make a good game, it doesn’t even always add to a game. Even still games can be beautiful without higher performance of the console. Skyrim has been out for nearly my entire adult life and it’s STILL gorgeous, even by todays standards. I want quality story and gameplay. Not to be able to see the worlds grass blades photosynthesize in real time. I want to feel the characters I meet not just see faces rendered well. (Skyrim doesn’t count here lmao) I want less focus on frame rate and polygons and more focus on quality of story telling and gameplay. That’s why I’m fine with handheld games. My borderlands character with their tiny gun satisfies.
To be clear, I may like the console but I don’t like Nintendo as a company much. They’re as evil as the rest. Video games should be subsidized by the government then sold to the game giants after for tax revenue. No more crunching, just developers being passionate and producing amazing games meant to be played and not consumed. It’s art, big collaborative art, and it needs far more respect.

Even though I like the platform, the issue with the Switch is that it pretends to be a AAA competitor. If it focused more heavily on lighter titles it would do better. Previous Nintendo success has been due to the fact that they were the only serious competitor in the handheld/pocketable market. The moment you lose the pocketable form factor and try to compete with Playstation/Xbox, who have occupied that space for decades... you're going to struggle more.
Playstation says they don’t want to be like Nintendo. Maybe they should change their tune a little bit! 🤣
I would really like to see Nintendo release a new Switch with 120Hz, 4K resolution and a graphics card that its at par with both ps5 and xbox. I would be willing to pay 449.99 or 499.99 for a Nintendo switch console with these specs.
Graphics are great from Dreamcast era and after. The only thing matters is gameplay and story of games. Nowadays there is inflation and poverty from hell and war. Switch is great and outsell ps5 and Xbox series.
If the next console isn't backward compatible I won't be buying it. Full stop. So sick of how Nintendo treats their customers with the first party pricing, lack of compatibility, etc.

Lol I’m not bored of it at all, use my Switch more than any other console I own but there’s no denying that a new Zelda in 4K with a solid 60 fps would look and play incredible. I really just want Nintendo to stick to the same thing they’re doing and give us a more powerful version of it.
