    I am fairly new to your channel and I have to tell you that I did not expect this much hair advice from someone who is a dermatologist. I have long hair too, and none of my stylists have ever shown me the technique you used with your curling iron. It really is different from curling short hair. Thank you for the tips!

    I am very impressed by your new product line! I ordered the cleanser and it arrived in under 48 hours. It’s a huge size and the ingredients are wonderful. I’m excited about future products. Congrats!

    Crown affair clips are amazing. They are the only clips that don’t hurt my scalp and I have fine hair so they are just the best.

    I suffer from almost exact same cowlicks. The bang area is the very first thing I dry and I do it with a big round brush going forward and down. When I actually wore bangs (yes with a wicked sideways cowlick curve) they had to be wet so I kept a spray bottle of plain water by my sink. Now I no longer wear them but that area still has to be done first. The one at the crown I do after most of hair is dry. Yours looks beautiful. Mine is still a hot mess but better. Have to flat iron or with the humidity in Arkansas I end up looking like a Chia pet. 🤣😎✌🏻

    I use the same heat protectant cream and the gold oil by kerastase is what I use right after applying the heat protectant on wet hair.. and have the same hair texture as you( fine with lots of baby hairs) .. I find this works better than applying the oil when I’m done styling .. I get less frizz and hair is less weigh down using this method.. try it and see if it works for you too 😊

    • @jessabeauty917
      @jessabeauty917 Рік тому +1

      I understand that it will pull your hair out and if you do it too much cause permanent scalp damage similar to a scar.

    • @xqueenfrostine
      @xqueenfrostine 4 місяці тому +1

      Definitely not! Tight ponytails can lead to hair loss, both at the scalp (traction alopecia) and through the lengths (breakage).

    So your hair is fine and thin like mine. The Purology Hydrate and even the Oribe Gold Lust, which everyone raves about, are just not good for us with this hair type. There is a SoCal brand I’ve been using for 19 years called Eufora that is aloe Vera based that has changed my life. I bleach my hair also and this line has kept it from feeling limp, fine and thin.

    Hi Dr. Ellis! Are you able to do a video on slugging? I have recently damaged my skin barrier by over cleansing & toning and have been adding slugging into my skincare routine but I'd like to know the best way of going about it? I currently use vaseline after applying retionl & moisturizer but i'd love to know your thoughts!

    I almost skipped this video but I'm glad I changed my mind lol because it is very helpful! thank you for sharing : ) quick question: I'm 57 y.o. and I'm having a hard time getting rid of (I think it is melasma)a quarter size spot on my face (I'm currently going through a serum by Good Molecules that claims to even skin out) so would you recommend a budget friendly product for that please? on my last derm visit I found out I have no skin conditions : )

    • @db-gb5xi
      @db-gb5xi Рік тому +2

      If it's melasma (and your derm should test/say specifically) you might need something more effective than the good molecules. I'd watch her melasma videos.

    Your hair has so much volume I’m jealous! Question…. Do you recommend any brand of scalp oil for hair growth promotion? I cut bangs and while they’re fine I don’t love them and wondered if adding one to my routine would speed up regrowth or not worth it!? I already use k18 consistently and no hair color so it’s pretty healthy otherwise 😊

    • @db-gb5xi
      @db-gb5xi Рік тому

      I'd watch her hair videos on hair loss. I've seen a few derms talk about oils re: hair growth like dr dray, the budget dermatologist, dr alexis stephens, doctorly, etc.

    Dr. Sam! What is your routine when swimming a lot? I am at the beach currently and also swimming in the pool, too. My hair has been super tangled from all the sand and then very dry from chlorine. My head is just a hot mess right now!

    • @Olie109
      @Olie109 Рік тому +1

      Have the same question! I know it’s very bad to use shampoo daily or very often. But what do you do to get the chlorine out of your hair?

    • @DrSamEllis
      @DrSamEllis  Рік тому +2

      I like to pretreat my hair with coconut oil or a leave in conditioner before getting in the water - then it doesn’t absorb as much and shampooing after is less harsh.

    • @Joannabanana1989
      @Joannabanana1989 Рік тому

      Dr Sam I will try this. Brought coconut oil with me for oil pulling. The bottom half of my hair feels like straw even though I have used conditioner daily after shampooing.
