Informative. I learned alot from this short video. I have allergies and between my pets and plants, assume those are the major factors for my suffering. One question I have is why haven't humans evolves to minimize the effect of plant pollen on our health? It seems better resistance should have developed by our species to counter these effects. When the economies were mainly agrarian, seems the number of sufferers would have been greater (as a percentage of population).
I love this question and wish I could answer in one or two sentences. I suggest reading Matt Richtel's book, "Elegant Defense, An: The Extraordinary New Science of the Immune System: A Tale in Four Lives" which details the evolution of the human immune system. The big picture is this - there is a fine line between an immune system working properly and one which over functions.
Interesting question which I am unqualified to answer. I suggest reading Matt Richtel's book, "Elegant Defense, An: The Extraordinary New Science of the Immune System: A Tale in Four Lives" which details the evolution of the human immune system. He makes the case that humans of today lead lives that are too sanitary thereby robbing the immune system of appropriate responses to allergens.
This is a great idea. Maybe you already know about the complexity of fungi reproduction, if not, it will gob smack you! Read, Entangled Lives by Merlin Sheldrake - mind blowing!

flowers are ONLY 125 million years old? The endangered Paddlefish is older species than flowers. amazing.
do you think allergies are from people NOT being inoculated at a young age - from lack of living outside? Just wondering
